It's also a perfume brand that makes vineyard-themed scents: smoked wood and forest floor, the grapes, and, of course, the vines. We chat with Cynthia and Lauren about how it all came together and how they created their three scents with Frederick Bouchardy of Joya Studios.[What we smell like today: Louis Vuitton Fantasmagory, Zoologist Harvest Mouse]

“You found me.”Not everyone does. This cottage hides well in the forest. But you… you followed something here. A feeling? A memory? Some find it by accident. Others search for years. But the door only opens for those who are meant to be here. And today… it opened for you.I am the perfumer of this wood. I brew for lovers, for dreamers, and for those who come here alone.Come. Follow me.Let's see if there's something here… meant for you.Oh! Do you want to know what's right there, in front of you?---This one? “Love You.”I made it with petals from a rose that never bloomed, ink from the very first love letter of a couple who are no longer in this world, and rainwater from the rooftops of seven couples.Between us? This is the one couples ask for most.Especially the ones whose love has gone a little quiet.Wear it, and you'll remember what it felt like to fall.---And this one… “Evermore.” That's what I call it.It's for those who have found their person.I added three things, rose petals that dried on the branch under a full moon, pine needles from a tree that survived a lightning strike, and salt from the tears of a woman who waited fifty years. It smells like forever.---Ah… these two. They don't have names yet. They're not ready. Please, don't touch them. Don't even sniff. The last time someone accidentally used an unfinished potion……they fell in love with their own reflection for three weeks. So, yes. There is a special joy in meeting people who have carved their own path, step by uncertain step. In this episode, I share a heartfelt conversation with Adil Qadri – the face behind one of India's most talked‑about attar and perfume brands. From modest beginnings and moments of deep doubt to building a name that now resonates across the country, Adil opens up about the grind, the faith, and the madness that went into his journey. We talk about risk, money, content creation, trolls, and the strange beauty of starting again when everything seems to be over. This is not just about perfumes; it is about how a person chooses to show up for life, again and again. If you are someone standing at a crossroads – wondering whether to take that leap, start that business, or reinvent your life – this conversation is for you.Come, listen in, laugh with us, feel the pauses, and maybe find a bit of your own story in Adil's.Truly, conversations like food are best when shared. For Business Queries, Collaborations, Sponsorships:Email us at: Reachus@ashishvidyarthi.com----Come be a part of My YouTube Family ️️ / @ashishvidyarthiactorvlogs ️ / @ashishvidyarthipodcast ️ / @fiftypluszindagi ️ / @foodkhaanawithashishvidyarthi ️ / @kahaniyaanwithashishvidyarthi

We've already talked about the giallo movies released during the genre's peak year of 1971 with Patrick and covered several of the American films found in the pages of Kier-La Janisse's House of Psychotic Women with Bill, so why not join Gabe and first-time guest host Sharon Gissy for a look at the female-centric gialli also found in Janisse's autobiographical topography of female neurosis in horror and exploitation film? This month's titles include Francesco Barilli's The Perfume of the Lady in Black (Italian: Il profumo della signora in nero, 1974), Carlos Aured's Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll (Spanish: Spanish: Los ojos azules de la muñeca rota; aka: House of Psychotic Women, 1973, released in '74), Armando Crispino's Autopsy (Italian: Macchie solari, 1975), and Luigi Bazzoni's Footprints (Italian: Le orme, 1975). Please note that the podcasting app I use mistakenly recorded Sharon's laptop's built-in microphone instead of the one she was using, so there are some muffling and static issues with her audio.
1 Don't boast about tomorrow; for you don't know what a day may bring. 2 Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips. 3 A stone is heavy, and sand is a burden; but a fool's provocation is heavier than both. 4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; but who is able to stand before jealousy? 5 Better is open rebuke than hidden love. 6 The wounds of a friend are faithful, although the kisses of an enemy are profuse. 7 A full soul loathes a honeycomb; but to a hungry soul, every bitter thing is sweet. 8 As a bird that wanders from her nest, so is a man who wanders from his home. 9 Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart; so does earnest counsel from a man's friend. 10 Don't forsake your friend and your father's friend. Don't go to your brother's house in the day of your disaster. A neighbor who is near is better than a distant brother. 11 Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart, then I can answer my tormentor. 12 A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it. 13 Take his garment when he puts up collateral for a stranger. Hold it for a wayward woman! 14 He who blesses his neighbor with a loud voice early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse by him. 15 A continual dropping on a rainy day and a contentious wife are alike: 16 restraining her is like restraining the wind, or like grasping oil in his right hand. 17 Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend's countenance. 18 Whoever tends the fig tree shall eat its fruit. He who looks after his master shall be honored. 19 Like water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man. 20 Sheol* and Abaddon are never satisfied; and a man's eyes are never satisfied. 21 The crucible is for silver, and the furnace for gold; but man is refined by his praise. 22 Though you grind a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with grain, yet his foolishness will not be removed from him. 23 Know well the state of your flocks, and pay attention to your herds, 24 for riches are not forever, nor does the crown endure to all generations. 25 The hay is removed, and the new growth appears, the grasses of the hills are gathered in. 26 The lambs are for your clothing, and the goats are the price of a field. 27 There will be plenty of goats' milk for your food, for your family's food, and for the nourishment of your servant girls. In this Fragrance Friday episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta sits down with Pissara Umavijani, founder and perfumer of Parfums Dusita, for a quietly powerful conversation about perfume as emotion, memory, and meaning. In an industry increasingly driven by trends and virality, Dusita stands apart as a house built on poetry, patience, and feeling.Pissara shares her deeply personal journey—leaving Thailand to start over in Paris with a singular intention: to create fragrance that makes people feel. Entirely self-taught, she immersed herself in the craft of perfumery through persistence and intuition, guided by a belief that scent should communicate something human, not perform for attention. Even the name Dusita, which refers to a level of paradise in Thai culture, reflects this ethos—living with purpose, warmth, and emotional presence.Rather than relying on obvious cultural motifs, Dusita expresses Thai heritage through values: gentleness, hospitality, compassion, and balance. These qualities shape not only the fragrances themselves, but how the brand engages with people—inviting closeness rather than spectacle. At the heart of every Dusita fragrance is poetry written by Pissara's late father. Each poem serves as an emotional blueprint, translated into scent rather than illustrated literally. This approach comes to life in beloved creations like Tonka Latte, a soft, comforting gourmand inspired by warmth and love, and Pavilion d'Or, a serene composition that captures balance and stillness without adhering to a single category.Throughout the conversation, Pissara returns to one guiding principle: balance. For her, great perfumery isn't about intensity—it's about harmony, evolution, and restraint. Dusita's fragrances don't demand attention; they reward it.Listen to the full Skin Anarchy episode to hear how poetry, Thai cultural values, and emotional honesty shape Parfums Dusita—and why the most powerful fragrances are often the quietest ones.SHOP Parfums DusitaDon't forget to subscribe to Skin Anarchy on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred platform.Reach out to us through email with any questions.Sign up for our newsletter!Shop all our episodes and products mentioned through our ShopMy Shelf!Support the showSupport the show

Perfume is a luxury product worn by people all around the world, but fragrances are not without health risks. Perfumes use a mix of chemicals, some are natural, such as essential oils from plants, but many of them are synthetic, meaning they are created in a laboratory. The problem is that the perfume industry is not very transparent about what goes into their products. They can hide hundreds of ingredients under the vague term "fragrance", without disclosing them to the consumers or the regulators. This means that we don't really know what we're spraying on our skin, clothes, and hair and some can be irritating and cause allergies. Even high quality famous brands can contribute to allergies which affect between 5 and 25 million people in Europe. Which brands? How is this possible? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! That's what the rumors (industry insights) say, but based on what we've been seeing, the fraghead community is very much so cooking. [What we smell like today: Maison d'Etto Macanudo, Anti Nashi Toro] Shop our
This isn't the usual New Year's episode about planning, vision boards, and big 2026 goals. Instead, Karen looks at - what happens when you actually need to do less – and how that can be the key to building a more robust perfume or creative business that doesn't burn you out. She talks honestly about overcommitting (including with AI‑fuelled planning), why she's simplifying her offers and pressing pause on some things and how she's re‑shaping her work around the life she is actually living. If you're tired of the constant hustle but still want your business to thrive, this episode is perfect. To continue to get access to new content from Karen in 2026, sign up for her newsletter by going here - https://www.karengilbert.co.uk. KEY TAKEAWAYS ● Be honest about how much work you can handle. ● Your creative energy naturally rises and falls. Accept that, go with the flow, and stop beating yourself up about not getting absolutely everything done. ● Our culture says, “new year, new you,” but winter is a season of rest and introspection, so it's okay if big goals don't feel realistic right now. It´s OK to set new goals in other months too. ● Drop things that drain you without generating true benefits. Ask yourself do I have to do this now, or is it just another shiny object or something that is fun and distracts you from doing the more boring things? ● Don´t try to run on empty - Make time to refuel. Hobbies, time with family and friends, travel, learning new skills, exercise and other things that light you up, all top up your creative energy. BEST MOMENTS “I am planning on actually doing less this year on purpose.” “Creativity is not something that you can just like squeeze out. You have to let it flow" “Really tap into you and how you work best – that is going to keep you in this for the long-term.” EPISODE LINKS: Bulgaria Perfume Workshop: https://www.roseoverdose.com/perfume-plants-of-bulgaria IAO Awards: https://thegoldenpears.com/home In Person Classes: https://www.karengilbert.co.uk/studio-classes Previous New Year episodes - https://podcasts.apple.com/mt/podcast/reflections-for-growth-learning-from-2024-to-build/id1693602939?i=1000682798977 and https://podcasts.apple.com/es/podcast/making-the-most-of-2024/id1693602939?i=1000640841400 VALUABLE RESOURCES https://www.karengilbert.co.uk/studio-classes https://www.karengilbert.co.uk/materials-mastery Getting Started Guide: https://www.karengilbert.co.uk/podcast-getting-started-guide Artisan Perfumery Mastermind: https://www.karengilbert.co.uk/artisan-perfumery-mastermind Website: https://www.karengilbert.co.uk/ ABOUT THE HOST Fragrance expert, author, teacher, and speaker; Karen Gilbert runs courses in the UK and online which demystify the secretive world of perfumery in a fun and interactive way. It's my final episode of Feelgood December and today I'm chatting to the founder of the most creative and original fragrance destination I've ever been lucky enough to step foot in, The Experimental Perfume Club.Emmanuelle Moeglin is a top perfumer who wanted to do things a bit differently. She created EPC to enable us customers to get hands on with fragrance and combine her creations to make something that is personalised.I love the way that Emmanuelle took a risk and did something totally different. That risk has most definitely paid off! Enjoy getting to know this wonderful woman xx

Ever wondered why everyone's suddenly talking about layering their favourite scents? In this special year-end episode, Karen dives into the layered world of fragrance - examining the trend that's gone from perfume-enthusiast secret to must-try for, indie creators, everyday scent lovers and brands. Discover how scent layering is shaking up traditions, what it means for your personal perfume wardrobe, and why this mix-and-match approach is more than just a passing fad. KEY TAKEAWAYS Scent layering isn't a passing fad, it's transforming how we wear perfume, from “one signature scent” to full fragrance wardrobes. This new layering culture is about ownership: making scents personal, playful, and aligned with who you are, not what a brand tells you to wear. TikTok and social media have blown layering wide open, but not every “hack” is safe or even smells good. Mixing random perfumes together can lead to skin issues. Purpose-made layering scents are safer and smarter. They are building blocks that home users can combine to create their own unique scents. Being a scent minimalist can make layering easier. A small, well-chosen collection often works better than shelves of half-loved bottles. Sustainability, biotech, wellness, healing, and ritual will all play bigger roles in the future of fragrance. AI and online tools can inspire ideas, but they can't yet replace real perfumery skills or safety knowledge. Take the time to stay up to date with this and other tech. BEST MOMENTS “There's some interesting stuff going on with how people relate to scent now, as opposed to how they used to five, ten years ago.” “There are companies that create, I suppose, what you would call a cord - simple fragrances that they actually actively sell as being able to be combined together.” “It's about fragrance becoming something that people participate in, like cooking or mixology, rather than something that they are relying on an expert to tell them what to buy.” EPISODE RESOURCES In Person Classes: https://www.karengilbert.co.uk/studio-classes EPC layering sets - https://experimentalperfumeclub.com/pages/perfume-creation-sets VALUABLE RESOURCES Getting Started Guide: https://www.karengilbert.co.uk/podcast-getting-started-guide Artisan Perfumery Mastermind: https://www.karengilbert.co.uk/artisan-perfumery-mastermind Website: https://www.karengilbert.co.uk ABOUT THE HOST Fragrance expert, author, teacher, and speaker; Karen Gilbert runs courses in the UK and online which demystify the secretive world of perfumery in a fun and interactive way.
