This is a podcast for women growing families and tech careers. According to the Center for Work-Life Policy, 56% of women leave the tech industry mid-career, more than double the rate of men. The struggle is real, but the expertise tech moms bring to the industry is critical. The Tech Mom Collective Podcast was created to share the stories of fellow moms in tech and discuss their challenges and triumphs with the hopes of connecting with and inspiring other moms on the same journey. In this podcast, I interview a mentor of mine, Alex Gobbi. She is currently the CMO at Code42, and has also been the CMO of Secureworks (a Dell Technologies company), and Earthlink. This month, she became an empty nester for the first time as she sent her son off to college.I would describe Alex as a strategic, analytical, and data-driven marketing executive. She’s also one of few introverted CMOs I’ve met. She’s creative, calculated, focused on marketing’s impact to the business, and can easily connect the dots to see the bigger picture and trends. Listen in to hear our conversation about Alex’s ascent to the C-Suite as a mom in tech, the impact on her kids (now that her oldest is 21), using transitions effectively, and what it’s like becoming the breadwinner in your family.
