In this episode, most of the adult class stuck around for our first Powwow or open discussion. The idea was sparked earlier in the day to see if the group would be interested in recording a discussion about various topics. In this first edition of our Powwow, I decided not to have a specific topic we would discuss but to just to start talking and see where it leads us.I think this structure was a good episode but future Powwows will be more focused on specific topics. Our adult team is a pretty tight community and it was cool to "chew the fat" with them in this episode.
Liz shares some of the story of her 6 year martial arts journey that started when she was 44 years old.
Today's episode is a sit down with "B", Brian Keyes, an adult student who is currently a high red belt in our program. Brian's wife, Beverly, just achieved her 1st degree Black Belt back in November of 2019. They also have a son, Brody, who is a brown belt in the program. What made him decide to do martial arts? What keeps him going even though there are many struggles he is overcoming? Download this episode and take a listen.
In this episode, adult student Anthony Lauria (orange belt) discusses how training with his daughter (green belt) in our program has improved their lives. Anthony's journey with martial arts has not been one without obstacles and setbacks but you'll hear how he was able to overcome various challenges and be able to get back to training even after close to 7 months of being sidelined due to a shoulder surgery.
In this episode, we take some time to talk with Cesar and Katerina (husband and wife). They are both 1st degree Black Belts with us and have 2 children in the program as well.
