To Live is Christ

There are many mysteries mentioned in the Bible - mystery of godliness, mystery of Babylon, mystery of iniquity and many more. Today we want to discuss the mystery of mysteries - The Gospel. Yes, the Gospel is indeed the greatest of mysteries. We will first discuss what a mystery is, and then see why the Gospel is so named. Unfortuantely, so many fail to understand what the true purpose of the Gospel message is. Now, in what many sense is the end times which the Scriptures so vividly describe, this message is especially timely.

Do you believe in Heaven? Do you believe in Hell? Do you believe in anything? One thing is for sure - you must believe that one day you are going to die. Then what?  There are many who claim that they are anxiously waiting and looking for the return of our Blessed Savior - but are they SERIOUSLY displaying that desire in their words and actions? There is indeed an appointed time, and no man knows it - but that should in no way affect our desire for the soon return of our LIFE, the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, come quickly (Maranatha)  should be the cry of our hearts as much as it was for the early church and the Apostles - is it for you?????

The eternal, all-powerful God, creator of Heaven and Earth and all that exists, became Man - why? Surely not because we humans are so great as to deserve His intervention into our lives - no, but for His own Name's sake. Let us view this miracle from His perspective and in so doing begin to grasp the eternal purposes of God Almighty and understand that our salvation is secondary to the power of the Cross and the meaning of existence.

So many people, even non-Christians, find themselves quoting Psalm 23 at times of depression and sorrow - but do they really have scriptural warrant to do so - or are they simply speaking empty words void of relevancy to them? Jesus knows His sheep, His followers, and they know His voice - Today's message addresses the question - Is Jesus really YOUR Good Shepherd?
