We have seen the example of Jeremiah and how his prayer life saw him through the sorrow of God's wrath. Now, we turn to Job and see how his prayer life made him famous for his enduring faith. "Behold, we count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful."James 5:11Job was a successful man; he was a wonderful father, but overall, he was a pious man. This is evidenced by his reaction to losing everything."And it came about, when the days of feasting had completed their cycle, that Job would send and consecrate them, rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, 'Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." God is not dead! How often do we consider that the God we pray to and worship is alive? If He were dead, He couldn't hear us, speak to us, or answer prayers. But every single day, God Almighty hears and answers us! It's amazing how our outlooks change when we lean into that truth. Let's pray to God today and know that He's living and listening.

Your Name is Holy Exodus 3:4-6, 13-15 The Book of Exodus outlines Moses' encounter with God Almighty. God reveals that His name is I AM THAT I AM. He is a holy God. So holy in fact, that the Jewish people were afraid to even speak the name Yahweh, instead they called Him: Yod, Heh, Vav, Heh.  But fast forward about 3,500 years. I believe one of the greatest challenges facing the church today is society's casual and cavalier attitude towards God. We've become so familiar with God that we've lost our fear of God. And I don't mean terror—I mean that healthy, reverent awe that recognizes who He is and who we are. We treat prayer like a quick text message to heaven. We approach worship like we're attending a performance. We read Scripture like we're scrolling through social media. And we wonder why our faith feels flat, why our worship feels empty, and why we're not experiencing the power and presence of God.  The problem isn't that God has changed. The problem is that we've lost our sense of reverence.  Please join us this Sunday as we learn how to consecrate ourselves before a Holy God and to give Him the reverence and honor that He deserves. I love y'allPastor Doug

This is a reimagined “I Have A Dream” speech as a rage anthem. We have to shift the energy from "hopeful persistence" to "righteous, explosive fury." So here is my hip-hop version of a call to reflection. The dream won't die, we will fiercely defend it. I HAVE A DREAM—that you're terrified! I HAVE A DREAM—that your hate has died! I HAVE A DREAM—that the truth will sting! LET FREEDOM RING! LET FREEDOM RING! LET. FREEDOM. RING! From the red hills! RING! From the snow caps! RING! From every village! From every state! We're drowning out the sound of your ancient hate! FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST! GOD ALMIGHTY, WE'RE TAKING IT BACK! I just dropped "I was the 80" on Spotify, Apple, and wherever you listen to music!!! I remember the 80/20 rule in Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? This was a powerful relationship metaphor to explain why people often cheat and leave good partners. The 80 is what you need. That 20 is what you want. I am the 80, we are the 80. I firmly believe that we are in a new age and it's age of Aquarius. It's all about sovereignty, frequency, and interconnectedness. We're moving from the Piscean age, when we relied on external authority and reactive medicine. Now it's my responsibility to manage my own vibration and use nature to help me heal. Dayumm!! Fear doesn’t disqualify us from being used by God—it often marks the starting point. Full Transcript Below: From Fearful to CourageousBy: Jennifer Slattery Bible Reading:Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, who did all those signs and wonders the Lord sent him to do in Egypt—to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land. For no one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel. - Deuteronomy 34:10-12, NIV. Today’s passage, when understood in light of Moses’s full story, assures me that I can start afraid and end as a confident, influential, and powerful woman of God. While I’m nowhere near as faith-filled and courageous as I long to be, I’m encouraged knowing that I don’t have to remain stuck in today’s fear and insecurity. That’s not to say I expect my journey toward peace to feel easy or simple. Nor do I anticipate a smooth, linear trajectory where all fretting and overthinking steadily decrease day by day. Unfortunately, I’m much too inconsistent for that. The more I follow the examples set by the heroes of faith, however, the greater my intimacy with Christ, understanding and reliance on His truth, and trust in His care. You see, whenever I read Moses’ legacy, so beautifully preserved in Deuteronomy 34, I can’t help but think back on the man revealed in Exodus 3 and 4. If you’re familiar with the Old Testament, you might remember his not-so-courageous response to his awe-inspiring and miraculous encounter with God Almighty. After forty years living as a Prince in Egypt, he killed a man and fled to the land of Midian, where he remained as a fugitive. Perhaps assuming he’d forfeited whatever dreams he’d once held for his future, he soon settled into his new life, where he spent his time as a family man tending his father-in-law’s herds. Then one long, quiet, monotonous day, something captured his attention—a bush that kept burning without turning to ash. As he stepped closer to investigate, the voice of God Almighty called out from the foliage, engaging him in a life-changing conversation. The Lord told him that he’d heard the desperate cries of His enslaved people and was sending Moses to set them free. Understandably, this ignited anxiety within Moses. God responded through a series of miracles that displayed His power and authority, but this wasn’t enough to still Moses’s quaking heart. His fear of Pharaoh, the earthly ruler the Lord wanted him to stand against, was so great that he actually told God no, stating, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else” (Ex. 4:13, NIV). Eventually, however, he obeyed, and in the decades that followed, developed an unshakable faith able to withstand an approaching army, a militant raiding people group, constant complaints and revolts from those he led, near stoning, betrayal from his siblings, and all the hardships that came with wondering, for four decades, through an inhospitable wilderness enroute to an unknown land. What strikes me most, however, is the stark contrast he portrays compared to his fellow Hebrews. Like Moses, they began doubtful and afraid. Unlike him, they remained stuck in their unbelief and fear. Moses, on the other hand, grew so faithful and courageous; today’s passage memorialized him as, at that time, the greatest prophet known to man. Clearly, the difference wasn’t in their circumstances. He and they endured the same hardships and witnessed the same miracles. It also wasn’t in their makeup. He and they were both human and therefore experienced the same range of emotions as you and me. When we consider their stories closely and in full, we see the difference arose from how they responded in times of crisis. Whereas the people turned to one another with grumbling, complaining, and catastrophizing, thereby exacerbating their own and each other’s fears, Moses consistently turned to God. He sought the Lord’s help, comfort, guidance, protection, and provision. But most importantly, he simply sought God, because in His presence comes power, protection, and peace. Intersecting Life & Faith: Our world often feels chaotic and uncertain; tumultuous situations naturally evoke anxiety and fear. But you and I were created for peace and joy—not in the absence of trouble, but rather, in the presence of Jesus, our Prince of peace. The more we seek Him, read and reflect on His truth, and rest in His loving embrace, the greater our faith and the weaker our anxiety and fear. Read Online“Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!” He got into the boat with them and the wind died down. They were completely astounded. They had not understood the incident of the loaves. On the contrary, their hearts were hardened. Mark 6:50–52When Jesus appeared to the Apostles, walking on the sea, they were filled with fear. His words to them are the same words He speaks to us: “Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!” We need to hear those words more often than we realize. Many things in life can cause us to fear, worry, obsess, fall into depression, or even despair. This is because, like the Apostles, we often fail to fully grasp Who God is. As a result, our hearts remain hardened.A hardened heart is the direct result of not understanding Who God is in our lives. Unless we come to know Him, comprehend His love for us, and place our full trust in Him, our hearts cannot be fully set free. Despite witnessing miracle after miracle, listening to sermon after sermon, and even preaching and performing miracles themselves, the Apostles still did not fully understand and believe. The Gospel tells us that “their hearts were hardened” because “they had not understood the incident of the loaves.”When Jesus said to His Apostles, “Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!” He wanted to instill profound faith within them. We must also allow those words to resonate deeply within us. Courage dispels fear. By saying “it is I,” our Lord is revealing, “I AM God!” The Greek phrase ego eimi used here is the same one found in Exodus 3:14 when God reveals His name: “I AM.” Though we might believe this with our minds, we often fail to let God's revelation penetrate our hearts and dispel the fears and doubts we face in life.The symbolism of this Gospel passage is powerful. The sea represents the world, and the waves and the wind symbolize the chaos and turmoil we often encounter within it. The boat is the Church. By walking on the water at night, our Lord reveals His complete mastery over everything in this world. By entering the boat as it was being tossed by the waves and wind, He shows that He is always present within His Church and will bring peace and calm if we let Him. Reflect today on our Lord looking directly at you and saying, “Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!” Give your full attention to Him. No matter what struggles you face, no matter the chaos that seems to surround you, there is nothing beyond God's power. Believe this, do not be afraid, invite Him into your heart, and His peace will abound. My Lord and great I AM, You are God Almighty. You can calm every storm, heal every wound, restore peace, and give courage in the face of turmoil. Help me to hear You say to me, “It is I, do not be afraid!” I pray that I will never doubt You, never waver in my faith, and always place my trust in You.
