Uneven Lies

It's time Uneven Lies makes a little topic change. College golf is something that needs to be covered more, but the LPGA Tour is the pinnacle for women's golf and needs to be spotlighted. In our first episode transitioning to talking more about the LPGA Tour, the guys dive into their thoughts on the misconception behind women's golf. They also give their thoughts on what could help bridge the gap between the PGA and LPGA Tour's. Finally, Jeff and Jay explain to listeners what they hope talking about and highlighting the best female player's in the game could hopefully do for the Tour as a whole.

This Monday episode features a sit in co-host, Andrew Spear, and special guest Eliott Azoulay. Andrew and Jay ask Eliott about the difference between European and American golf at all 3 levels - high school, college, and professional. They delve into Eliott's mental preparation, training for the upcoming Pro Golf Tour Season, and how he likes to prepare for professional golf tournaments versus his preparation in college. Finally, the guys discuss with Eliott if he believes the college game prepares players for the professional game.

This Friday episode begins with recaps of The Prestige and the Moon Golf Invitational. They dive in to see if David Puig (POOOGE) can win 3 events in a row and if Arizona St. can string together back to back wins. Next, Jeff and Jay take a look at Riviera and if that's the toughest golf course the pros will play all year. They also give their thoughts on greens books and if they should be allowed since they inevitably slow down the game with minor benefit. Lastly, the guys focus on the rules of golf and give their ideas on how the game can be simplified.

We recap the Men's Florida Gators Invitational and the Women's Moon Golf Invitational, as well as cover Puige leading The Prestige after 1 round at -7. We give our thoughts on the broadcast team wanting to add internal OB at Pebble, if we've ever played in a tournament that had internal OB, why 24 teams at 1 event is way too many, and more! 

We preview the Men's Florida Gators Invitational and the Women's Moon Golf Invitational, as well as recapping the FAU Paradise Invitational. We give our thoughts and congratulations on Gabi Ruffels forgoing her Senior Spring Season and turning pro. We both pick a side on the Hoodie debate, if the LPGA Tour needs to create a similar University program as the PGA Tour, if baseball's decision to roll back the ball should affect golf's technology struggle, and more!

We go into a quick rundown on the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invite, the FAU Paradise Invitational, and the Individual Spring Kickoff. Special Guest and Our Resident Texan, Andrew Spear joins the show to talk about what Junior golf was like in the DFW area and playing at St. Edward's University. We talk about what makes amateur golfers ready to perform well on the Tour at such a young age, how each of us would prepare for tournaments, the difference between the 1% and the 0.001% of elite golfers, and much more!

We give a quick rundown on the UCF Challenge and the SMU Trinity Forest Invitation. Special Guest and 9 handicapper, Chris Marques makes an appearance. We talk about high school golf, Webb Simpson's interesting comments on the technology debate, beer leagues and more!

In this Monday episode, Jeff and Jay touch on the UCF Challenge and Arkansas's hot start.  We then delve into The Course at Yale being a hidden gem.  Next, we talk about the poorly handled Dartmouth athletics situation and how the damage is already done.  Lastly, we hit on Patrick Reed and his rules controversy and some other tournaments going on this week.

This Friday episode begins with some town named after Ben Franklin.  Jay and Jeff then recap the Southwestern Invitational, where Poooge Mania commences and San Diego St overcomes Arizona St for the victory.  Did the Sun Devils leak oil down the stretch or did the Azaatecs take it from them?  Next the boys talk about coaches roles within teams, to choosing their starting five, to qualifying, to tournament advice, and much more.  Lastly, a recap of the Timuquana Collegiate and the Arizona Intercollegiate where some skeptical outfits were chosen.  

After a strange Fall season with many conferences not participating, the Spring season is upon us and ready to be an action packed one. We discuss what happened last week at the Camp Creek Seminole Invite and preview the Southwestern Invitational, which starts today, Monday, Jan 25 and concludes on Wednesday, Jan 27. We also delve into our Week 1 Power Rankings along with who we think will be the final 2 teams standing in May, competing for a National Championship.
