WALLACE CACKLER, WORLD WAR II VETERAN - Wallace served with the United States Navy during World War II. He was involved with the invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He described the landing at Iwo Jima as walking into the "jaws of hell itself!" His war experience forever changed him. I lost Wallace in 2007. I have very fond memories of going into his home in Colorado and interviewing him. He missed his wife dearly after she died.
