Raised in Philadelphia, ENEM is a graffiti legend who has made a name for himself for his tagging skills, prolific work, and love of the culture. Navigating the tough streets of Philly, he got in trouble as a juvenile which led to him moving to Oakland as a teenager. There he met Mike Dream (RIP) and joined the infamous TDK crew. Going back and forth between the Bay and Philly, Enem developed his style while continuing to navigate the ups and downs of street life. Eventually he left the streets alone and dedicated himself to graffiti and hip-hop, putting out music and art projects. In 2005, Enem was featured graffiti documentary "Infamy" which highlighted his story for a worldwide audience. For promo opportunities on the podcast, e-mail info@historyofthebay.com--History of the Bay Spotify Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3ZUM4rCv6xfNbvB4r8TVWU?si=9218659b5f4b43aaOnline Store: https://dregsone.myshopify.com Follow Dregs One:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1UNuCcJlRb8ImMc5haZHXF?si=poJT0BYUS-qCfpEzAX7mlAInstagram: https://instagram.com/dregs_oneTikTok: https://tiktok.com/@dregs_oneTwitter: https://twitter.com/dregs_oneFacebook: https://facebook.com/dregsone41500:00 New era of graffiti 07:03 Philly graff history 14:15 Philly handstyles 21:29 Growing up in Philly28:07 Hip-hop 41:12 Developing as a writer 47:27 Dream, TDK, Oakland 1:01:55 Leaving a legacy as a writer1:07:46 Going on the run1:17:11 Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti1:22:39 “Infamy” documentary 1:32:58 Today's graff culture
Every family has secrets. But some secrets are darker than others—and some leave behind headlines, scars, and a trail of records in their wake. Murder cases, unsolved crimes, public hangings, or even whispered suspicions didn't just mark the individual involved. They reshaped entire branches of the family tree. If you've ever come across an ancestor who vanished, changed their name, or whose family stopped mentioning them entirely, there's a chance something more serious was involved. And even if the person wasn't guilty, their name may have been dragged into scandal or tragedy, leaving behind a legacy that was deliberately erased—or quietly hidden in the pages of forgotten records. This final installment in the series explores how to trace ancestors connected to serious crimes, what kinds of records exist, and how to approach these discoveries with care, curiosity, and truth. Defense in Panic Mode? Donna Adelson's Team Tries To Toss Out Key Witnesses and Downplay Evidence Just 14 Days Before trial. Donna Adelson is about to go on trial for the murder-for-hire plot of her ex son-in-law and beloved FSU law professor, Dan Markel. Welcome to Surviving the Survivor, the show that brings you the #BestGuests in all of #TrueCrime. In this episode, STS Host and Emmy Award-Winning Journalist Joel Waldman brings on Private Investigator Monica Jordan, Attorney Josh Ritter @CRConfidential and Former Inmate Justin Paperny to discuss key motions, the power of the informants, the reality of people turning on each other--and what the biggest red flags are two weeks out from trial. The murder of Florida State University law professor Dan Markel in 2014 shocked the nation, and now, more than a decade later, his former mother-in-law Donna Adelson is set to stand trial for his killing. Prosecutors allege that Adelson was part of a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated to end a bitter custody battle between Markel and her daughter, Wendi Adelson. Markel was gunned down in his Tallahassee driveway in broad daylight, a crime authorities say was carried out by hired hitmen with ties to the Adelson family. Donna Adelson's upcoming trial is expected to reveal explosive new evidence, witness testimony, and details about the conspiracy that's been unraveling for years. STS will cover the trial gavel-to-gavel on STS and Joel will be LIVE in Tallahassee, Florida everyday. https://thecommunists.org/2025/07/01/news/gaza-heroic-people-resist-murderous-infamy/ British workers must resolutely oppose the imperialist Labour party, which is complicit in, and the active perpetrator of, the Palestinian genocide. Weighing just 2kg, the photograph of emaciated five-month-old Siwar Ashour is the latest image to horrify workers all over the world, as Israel continues to use mass starvation as a means of warfare against civilians. And if anyone was in any doubt about the deep complicity of the entire British political and media establishment, recent analysis suggests that the current ‘Labour' government granted more weapons licenses to Israel in a three-month period last year than the previous Conservative government did over four years. Did Bryan Kohberger Get What He Wanted, Infamy Description: Did Bryan Kohberger commit four gruesome murders in Idaho because he craved fame—even the darkest, most notorious kind? In this provocative and revealing episode, respected psychotherapist Shavaun Scott investigates whether Kohberger's horrific acts were motivated by a twisted desire for infamy. Unpacking the psychological reasons behind his actions, Scott illuminates the troubling phenomenon of criminals seeking lasting recognition through heinous crimes, explaining how societal fascination with such figures can tragically encourage similar behavior. We explore how Kohberger's academic career in criminology may have ironically intensified his craving for notoriety, pushing him toward violent acts that ensured public attention. Scott highlights Kohberger's behaviors—such as his calculated decision to plead guilty in a high-profile plea deal, his demeanor in court, and his apparent obsession with controlling public perception—that suggest infamy was central to his motivation. Listeners will gain a deeper understanding of the psychological profile of individuals who seek validation through destructive actions. We examine Kohberger's mind through the lens of narcissism, insecurity, and sociopathy, exposing how these combined traits can compel a person to commit violent acts simply to become unforgettable. The episode also addresses the moral responsibility society holds in potentially feeding this dangerous hunger for recognition through media coverage and public fascination. Ultimately, Shavaun Scott questions whether the outcome of this highly publicized case has inadvertently granted Kohberger exactly what he wanted—a permanent, infamous legacy. This thoughtful and challenging discussion forces us to confront the troubling intersection between crime, celebrity culture, and human psychology. Drawing on their deep expertise, they bring clarity to the chaos. Hafiz Rashid, a journalist from the New Republic, joins the show to provide extremely valuable insights into the media's role, and the potential dangers ahead for journalists willing to hold the administration accountable. We'll dive right into the troubling start of Donald Trump's new term, which our hosts describe as akin to the rise of a Russian-style oligarchy. Through the unique lens of these top clinical psychologists, we'll reflect on Trump's inauguration, where tech billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg set the backdrop. We'll also point out how his inauguration speech, rife with aggressive language, reflects his worsening malignant narcissism. Described as a harbinger of a new “oligarchic” age in America, they analyze Trump's obvious allegiance to the billionaire class in his speech. Our hosts don't hold back when it comes to Elon Musk's bizarre behavior this week, including his alleged Nazi salute. Dr. Gartner and Dr. Siegel dissect the psychological dimensions of these kinds of displays of power, and unchecked grandiosity. We'll also talk about the incredulous blanket pardons given to the violent Jan 6 insurrectionists, and discuss how Trump's meme coin is nothing more than a means to “cash in” on his presidency. As Dr. Gartner and Dr. Siegel stress, now is the time for resistance-and psychological resilience is more important than ever. The photos from that night told a story louder than any headline. Jennifer Lopez, radiant in a geometric-patterned mini dress, stood amidst the flashing lights and pulsating beats of a bustling nightclub. The air was thick with the energy of the night, but her fiery exchange with Sean “Diddy” Combs cut through the revelry. Her sharp, exasperated gestures and his tense, defensive stance painted a picture of rising tension that seemed to shift the room's focus onto them. This pivotal moment, now immortalized in photographs, has become a haunting symbol of a night that would later shake the music industry to its core. Her expression—a mix of anger and exasperation—froze in time, now unearthed as a pivotal piece of a legal puzzle shaking the music industry to its core. This wasn't just another nightclub spat. That same night, in a nearby room at the afterparty for the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, a 13-year-old girl, known only as Jane Doe, alleges she was drugged and raped. Two of the most influential names in hip-hop, Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs, now face accusations in a lawsuit alleging their involvement in a deeply troubling incident—a stark narrative of power and fame intersecting with the exploitation of a vulnerable victim. The details are harrowing. According to the lawsuit filed in a New York court, Jane Doe had traveled to Radio City Music Hall, hoping to catch a glimpse of the awards show she couldn't afford to attend. Later that night, a chance encounter with a chauffeur led her to Diddy's exclusive afterparty at the now-defunct Lotus nightclub. The chauffeur, according to the lawsuit, allegedly remarked that she “fit what Diddy was looking for.” At the party, she was handed a reddish-yellow drink. It wasn't long before she felt “woozy and lightheaded,” her vision blurring. In search of refuge, she wandered into an unlocked bedroom. That's when, according to her testimony, Diddy, Jay-Z, and a female celebrity entered. The lawsuit alleges that Diddy—his eyes filled with a “crazed” intensity—grabbed her, exclaiming, “You ready to party!” Moments later, she was thrown against a wall and then onto the bed. What followed, the lawsuit claims, was a nightmare: the men took turns assaulting her while the female celebrity stood by and watched. Photographs obtained by *DailyMail.com* show Lopez arguing with Diddy earlier that evening. Her sister, Lynda Lopez, is seen nearby, her expression unreadable but undoubtedly aware of the tension. Jennifer Lopez's connection to the night has thrust her into a narrative she likely never anticipated, but the photos beg the question: What did she know, and when? Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, issued a fiery denial through his legal team, calling the allegations “so heinous” that they demanded criminal prosecution, not just civil litigation. This demand highlights a strategic legal move—shifting the focus to the gravity of the claims and challenging the plaintiff's team to meet the higher burden of proof required in a criminal case. By emphasizing prosecution over settlement, Carter appears to be signaling his confidence in refuting the allegations while also casting doubt on the motives behind the civil lawsuit. Legal analysts suggest this tactic could either bolster his defense by portraying him as transparent and cooperative or backfire if the criminal system decides to take up the case. In his statement, Carter accused Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing Jane Doe and over a hundred other alleged victims of Diddy's, of extortion. “No sir,” Carter wrote in a statement to *DailyMail.com*. “I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!” His words were defiant, but the weight of the accusations lingered. Sean Combs has yet to respond publicly, but silence in this case speaks volumes. The rap mogul, already embroiled in multiple lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct and abuse spanning decades, faces mounting public scrutiny. The amended lawsuit now naming Jay-Z adds another explosive layer to a story that seems to grow darker with each revelation. The third alleged participant, described in the lawsuit as a “female celebrity,” remains unnamed. However, Jane Doe's account identifies her as someone immediately recognizable. Speculation runs rampant, but without confirmation, her identity remains shielded—a shroud of mystery in an already convoluted case. As the industry reels, Jennifer Lopez's unearthed photographs raise uncomfortable questions. Her tumultuous relationship with Diddy, marked by its high-profile highs and lows, has long been a topic of tabloid fascination. But now, the context shifts. Was the argument captured in those images connected to the events Jane Doe described? Or was it another chapter in a famously volatile romance? Legal experts note that the lawsuit's implications extend far beyond the individuals named. “This case has the potential to unravel a culture of silence that has shielded powerful men in entertainment for decades,” said Rachel Connelly, a New York-based attorney specializing in civil litigation. “But it also hinges on the credibility of the victim and the willingness of the legal system to hold these men accountable.” As for Jane Doe, her bravery in coming forward underscores the gravity of the accusations. Despite the immense personal cost, she has chosen to speak out against some of the most powerful figures in entertainment, knowing the potential backlash could be overwhelming. Jane Doe's journey through the legal system is fraught with challenges—from the emotional toll of reliving the alleged events to the intense scrutiny of her credibility by defense attorneys and the public. Her decision to pursue justice shines a light on systemic failures that have historically silenced victims of abuse, and her resilience serves as a testament to the strength required to confront such a pervasive culture of exploitation. Her legal team is pressing for criminal charges, emphasizing the systemic failures that allowed such alleged behavior to go unchecked. “This is not just about one night,” Buzbee stated in a press conference. “This is about a pattern of abuse, exploitation, and the culture that enabled it.” The public fallout has been swift. Social media has erupted with calls for accountability, not just for Jay-Z and Diddy but for an industry many believe has long turned a blind eye to predatory behavior. Fans are grappling with the possibility that two of hip-hop's most celebrated figures could be implicated in such a heinous crime. What happens next could redefine the legacies of those involved. Will the lawsuit lead to criminal investigations? Will the unnamed female celebrity come forward? And how will Jennifer Lopez navigate her unintentional role in this unfolding saga? For now, the world watches, holding its collective breath as the legal and personal battles begin to take shape. The music may have stopped at the Lotus nightclub long ago, but the echoes of that night continue to reverberate, louder than ever. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
