Have you ever wondered what life is like behind the scenes at one of the most amazing public aquariums in Southern California?  Today we sit down with Sandy Trautwine, VP of Husbandry, and Nate Jaros, Curator of Fish & Invertebrates at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach to hear all about what it takes to envision, design, and manage some of the most beautiful aquatic displays in the world!

The Marine Aquarium Conference of North America (MACNA) landed in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada, this year with a wonderful turnout of both vendors and attendees.  Professionals and hobbyists were introduced to some of the latest products and advancements in the marine aquarium trade and were able to interact with some of their favorite icons within our industry. We sat down with Alex Grah, the founder of Abyzz (all the way from Germany), to talk about his amazing products and how they have not only changed our business for the better, but are moving the entire aquarium community in a more efficient and impressive direction!

Find out who and what it takes to make a "great idea" become a reality...TV show, that is.

In 2012 and 2013 Nic & Joe starred in Ultimate Aquariums on HGTV.  Their brief stint on television was the result of years of hard work and a dedication to making sure the right people in Hollywood heard their idea!  Although the road to developing and starring in a show about their lives as aquarium designers was a long journey, it all started in 2007 with a brief appearance on MTv's The Hills when reality star, Spencer Pratt, gave them the opportunity to make their first Hollywood pitch.   

Angela Sun is an award-winning journalist, sports caster, and filmmaker.  Her documentary, Plastic Paradise, reveals the devastating truths around single-use plastics and the reality of what they are doing to our oceans & marine life on a massive and rapid scale. 

Nic & Joe revisit the last fifteen years, recalling stories of how they each got started in the aquarium industry and eventually co-founded Infinity Aquarium Design in Los Angeles.  Their milestones along the way have helped catapult their company to become a recognizable brand in the world of luxury aquarium design and installation.
