What if the biggest thing holding you back isn't your strategy… but your story? In this episode, Rory and AJ Vaden expose three silent lies that sabotage entrepreneurs, experts, and personal brands every single day. These aren't surface-level mindset clichés. These are the deeply embedded belief patterns that quietly keep talented people stuck in amateur mode while professionals pull ahead. You'll discover: Why "shiny object syndrome" is really a commitment problem How comparison fuels imposter syndrome (and how to shut it down) The surprising difference between amateurs and professionals Why fear of investing in your growth may be costing you everything Tactical ways to train your brain when you freeze on camera If you've ever thought: "Maybe I'm not good enough." "There must be a better way." "I can't afford to invest right now." "Why does everyone else look so confident on camera?" This episode is for you. Rory and AJ break down the real reason you feel stuck—and why it's not a lack of talent, intelligence, or opportunity. It's a belief issue. And beliefs can be rewritten. You'll walk away with practical tools to reset your mindset, strengthen your discipline, and finally commit at the level success requires. Because here's the truth: Professionals don't practice until they get it right. They practice until they can't get it wrong. If you're ready to stop dabbling and start dominating, press play.

It's huge, and serious. Its implications may impact millions, even beyond the halls of healthcare. In fact, it's the eighth-largest healthcare-related cybersecurity breach in U.S. history. In Texas alone, 15.4 million residents were involved – nearly half the state's population. Oregon reports another 10.5 million. Other states are still notifying residents. The final number may climb even higher. The stolen data reportedly includes names, Social Security Numbers, medical information, and health insurance details.Reporting the details of this enormous data breach during the next episode of Talk Ten Tuesdays will be the legendary Rose Dunn, former president of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).Broadcast segments will also include these instantly recognizable panelists, who will report more news during their segments:POV: Penny Jefferson, Director of Coding & Clinical Documentation Integrity Services for the University of Davis Medical Center, will share her point of view during the broadcast.CDI Report: Cheryl Ericson will provide an update on clinical documentation integrity (CDI).The Coding Report: Christine Geiger will report on the latest coding news.News Desk: Timothy Powell, ICD10monitor national correspondent, will anchor the Talk Ten Tuesdays News Desk.
Dan Sullivan and Jeffrey Madoff explore three types of people in the business world, including corporate executives, professionals, and entrepreneurs. What does each group really talk about behind closed doors? Discover why entrepreneurs learn fastest from failure, how timing and trust shape every sale, and why capitalism only works when strangers choose to cooperate. Show Notes: Corporate executives are rewarded for telling success stories because bonuses and shareholder expectations are tied to constant growth.Professionals build their reputation by talking through complex problems they solve for clients, not by showcasing glossy wins. When one entrepreneur has the courage to share a failure, it reassures everyone else that they're not alone and creates a community where setbacks are normal, human, and okay to talk about. Entrepreneurs rarely have anyone who understands every angle of their world, which is why they need rooms full of other entrepreneurs. The marketplace is always right in the moment, and a “no” simply means the buyer did not want that offer at that time. You can be early, in the wrong market, or talking to the wrong audience, so every new idea is a timing and positioning experiment. The first purchase in any deal is always the relationship, so if a prospect won't share meaningful information, you should walk away fast.Comeback and redemption stories resonate so strongly because entrepreneurs intuitively value people who get knocked down and then create a bigger future anyway.Resources: Your Business Is A Theater Production: Your Back Stage Shouldn't Show On The Front Stage The D.O.S. This episode is an update and re-record of episode 56Consequences. Punishments. Limits. Boundaries. These words don't mean the same thing but we often use them interchangeably. In this episode, we get clear on what exactly is a consequence versus a punishment versus a boundary. And how parenting through the lens of regulation, connection, and felt-safety is absolutely not boundary-less or permissive parenting. It's a way of looking at our kids and asking "What does my child need for their success to be inevitable?" and then giving them that.It definitely isn't about making sure our kids are always happy or never frustrated or we always say yes. It's about changing the lens on how we view their expressions of emotions and behaviors. And yes- it's about setting boundaries that keep our kids safe and help their brains develop the internalized co-regulation (self-regulation!) they need!Read a summary of this episode and access the full show notes at: RobynGobbel.com/WhatAboutAConsequenceThe Club- you never wanted to join, but are SO glad when you do. If you're parenting a child with a vulnerable nervous system when you have your own history of trauma, you know that sometimes your reaction isn't really about what's happening in front of you; it's about what's happened before. In this episode of Sales & Cigars, Walter Crosby sits down with Matthew Higham from Deksia for a thoughtful conversation about sales as service, culture fit, and what actually creates long-term business growth. The discussion moves well beyond tactics and into how salespeople think, listen, and show up. Matthew shares how his creative background led him into sales, why he genuinely enjoys prospecting, and how "unreasonable hospitality" applies just as much to agencies and sales teams as it does to five-star restaurants. From trusting your gut in career decisions to knowing when not to sell, this episode is a grounded reminder that great sales isn't about pressure—it's about clarity, care, and consistency. Episode Highlights Why Unreasonable Hospitality belongs on every salesperson's bookshelf Sales as a form of service—not persuasion How listening creates leverage in both sales and client relationships Why most great ideas come from volume, not perfection The difference between selling tactics and building strategy Why lead generation fails without sales readiness When saying "this isn't a fit" is the best move How culture fit shows up before the offer letter is signed Key Takeaways Sales works best when it's rooted in service Listening closely often matters more than saying the right thing Not every prospect should become a client Strategy must come before tactics Repetition builds reputation—marketing isn't flashy, it's consistent Trust your gut when evaluating culture and fit Salespeople don't need to do everything—but they do need the right support Who Should Listen This episode is for: Salespeople who care deeply about the people they sell to Agency leaders balancing strategy, service, and growth Business owners frustrated by "more leads" not solving the problem Anyone questioning whether sales can feel authentic and human Professionals evaluating culture fit in their next role About the Guest Matthew Higham is a sales leader at Deksia, a full-journey marketing agency known for its strategy-first approach. With a background in the creative world, Matthew brings a people-first perspective to sales—one focused on listening, alignment, and long-term outcomes over short-term wins. Find me on Substack.Richard Oldfield, founder of Oldfield Partners and author of the investing classic Simple, but Not Easy, is a four-decade veteran of markets whose career arc from Warburg and Mercury Asset Management to running a family office gives him a rare dual vantage point as both portfolio manager and allocator of managers. The episode is sponsored by TenzingMEMO — the AI-powered market intelligence platform I use daily for smarter company analysis. Code BILLIONS gets you an extended trial + 10% off.https://www.tenzingmemo.com/3:00 — Richard shares his origin story: drew to markets at 15, first investment at 18 in Britannia Arrow at 6p. Core belief: “Value investors are born, not made.”5:00 — Warburg founding story: Sigmund Warburg fled Germany in 1934 and built an institution with a lasting ethos. Richard recalls a personal hour-long meeting with him.6:30 — The 1987 storm and Black Monday. Walking among fallen trees as the Dow dropped 500 points (25%), Richard saw it as a price movement, not reality — until he returned to the office and was “swallowed up in the gloom.” Lesson: avoid the cacophony.9:00 — Isaac Newton and the South Sea Bubble: “I can understand the movement of the planets, but not the madness of men.” Don't make wholesale asset allocation bets.13:00 — Family office decade: empowerment, privacy, and bravery. The patriarch's stamp: “Return to sender — you decide.” The freedom to be unconventional.19:30 — The book's central paradox: rudiments of equity investing are simple. Professionals obscure them with jargon and self-interest. But half will underperform by definition — fees and all.22:40 — Patience comes from Latin with three meanings: waiting, suffering, and passion. You need all three.28:30 — Track records mislead. Never judge a manager primarily by performance. The transaction record reveals conviction and patience. “My favorite holding period for a manager is forever.”38:30 — The 90% decline must be thought about. Establish your cushion of comfort upfront. Diversify globally.50:00 — Rip Van Winkle Asset Management: dead investors outperform living ones. Hyperactivity is the enemy; the average fund investor earns 3-4% vs. the fund's 8%.56:30 — Take your own medicine. 95% of Richard's assets are in his own funds. A manager who won't invest alongside clients is a red flag.1:04:30 — Success redefined: resume virtues vs. funeral virtues. “You want to have the feeling that they loved and were loved.”Podcast Program – Disclosure StatementBlue Infinitas Capital, LLC is a registered investment adviser and the opinions expressed by the Firm's employees and podcast guests on this show are their own and do not reflect the opinions of Blue Infinitas Capital, LLC. I'm Dom Jackman. I founded Escape the City in 2010 to help people leave corporate jobs and find work that matters. 16 years later, 500k+ professionals have used the platform - mostly people 5-15 years into careers at places like McKinsey, Deloitte, Google, the big banks - who feel a growing gap between what they do all day and what they actually care about. I'm not from the EA community. I'm writing this because I think there's a real overlap between the people I work with and what the EA talent ecosystem actually needs. I want to test that before investing serious time in it. What I've noticed Reading through talent discussions on this forum, there's a consistent theme: the pipeline is strongest for early-career people. 80,000 Hours does great work for students and recent grads. Probably Good provides broad guidance. BlueDot, MATS, Talos build skills for specific cause areas. But mid-career professionals with real commercial experience keep coming up as underserved. The "Gaps and opportunities in the EA talent & recruiting landscape" post nails it: these people "don't have 'EA capital,' may be poorly networked and might feel alienated by current messaging." Why does the day disappear, even when you start with a clear plan? For busy professionals with ADHD, time blindness isn't a character flaw. Research points to neurobiological differences in executive function and time perception, dopamine dysregulation affecting motivation and internal timing. The result? Reactive weeks. Strategic thinking is squeezed out by "urgent." Constant context switching. Strained relationships. In this episode, Dave reframes time blocking as visual decision-making and not rigid scheduling. Why high achievers with ADHD struggle with estimating time The leadership cost of operating without visual structure Using themed blocks (Deep Work, Meetings, Admin, Strategic Thinking, Recovery) Planning by energy, not just the clock Matching high-focus windows to complex work Building buffers and overflow blocks (plan for reality, not perfection) Transition rituals to reduce friction (5-minute resets, defining the next tiny step, clearing tabs) The "Land and Launch" method for smoother task switching **Do you want to work with Dave one-on-one? You say certain things make you happy. But what does happiness actually feel like to you? Show Notes In this episode of Shark Theory, Baylor shares a powerful question from a recent therapy session that completely shifted his perspective: What does happiness feel like? Not what makes you happy. Not what you're doing when you're happy. But what does it feel like? At first, Baylor listed activities. Walking his dog. Playing golf. Spending time with friends. But his therapist pressed further. Feelings aren't events. They're states. That distinction changes everything. Too often, people tie happiness to specific moments, roles, or achievements. Athletes tie it to performance. Professionals tie it to promotions. Parents tie it to milestones. When those events disappear or slow down, so does their perceived happiness. But when Baylor dug deeper, he realized happiness for him wasn't about the activity. It was the feeling of emptiness of thought. A quiet mind. No overthinking. No mental clutter. Just presence. That realization unlocked something important. If happiness is a state of mind, not a specific event, then you can experience it in far more places than you thought. It also means you can reverse engineer it. When you understand what happiness feels like, you can identify its opposite. For Baylor, stress and anxiety show up as mental overload. Too many thoughts. Too much noise. Too much energy wasted on things that don't matter. The lesson is simple but profound: you can't move toward something if you don't know what it feels like. Once you define your emotional state clearly, you can deliberately design your life around creating more of it. What You'll Learn in This Episode Why tying happiness to events limits your joy The difference between actions and emotional states How identity and roles can distort your sense of fulfillment Why defining the feeling of happiness matters How to reverse engineer your emotional state How awareness reduces anxiety and mental overload Featured Quote "Happiness isn't what you're doing. It's the state your mind is in while you're doing it."

How to Trade Stocks and Options Podcast by 10minutestocktrader.com
Are you looking to save time, make money, and start winning with less risk? Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.Markets are crashing. Sell everything. Hide the cash. Panic. Right? Not so fast. This episode starts exactly where most traders lose their minds. Red candles everywhere. Bearish trend in full force. The 10 EMA under the 20. Price under the 50. It looks ugly. It feels ugly. And that's when most people blow up their accounts. Here's the truth. If you're panicking, it's not the market. It's risk management.Instead of guessing why the market is dropping, this conversation breaks down what actually matters. Direction can be identified. Magnitude and duration cannot. That's why the focus shifts to position sizing, reducing exposure, and getting out of the way when the trend turns bearish.OVTLYR flagged the sell signals. Microsoft dropped 22 percent after the signal. And here's the kicker. To recover from a 22 percent drop, you need a 29 percent gain just to break even. That math alone should change how you think about buying the dip.Inside this discussion:✅ Why buying on the way down is usually emotional, not logical✅ Why sitting in cash is a strategy, not weakness✅ How to “buy the rip” instead of guessing bottoms✅ The math behind options decay and why 30 plus day expirations reduce theta risk✅ Why liquidity and tighter percentage based bid ask rules improve trade qualityThere's also a powerful mindset shift here. Normal investors want action. Professionals want edge. Sitting in cash earning interest while waiting for a confirmed bullish trend is discipline. Not boredom.OVTLYR isn't about predicting headlines. It monitors how investors react to news, price movement, and economic shifts. When fear or greed hits extremes, it generates signals designed to help you move before the big outlier move happens. You can choose normal returns. Or you can choose to think differently.Subscribe to OVTLYR for disciplined trading strategies that actually make sense.
John McGinnis, law professor at Northwestern University and author of Why Democracy Needs the Rich, examines constitutional design, democratic stability, and the accelerating force of artificial intelligence. Drawing on the Federalist Papers, Tocqueville, and public choice theory, he argues that a realistic understanding of politics is essential to preserving both liberty and effective state capacity. McGinnis traces his intellectual formation to a "hard-headed realism" learned early in life and later reinforced by the American founding. At the center of his thinking is a practical constitutional question: how to build sufficient state capacity while preventing its abuse. He emphasizes the importance of an entrenched constitution that is difficult to amend, arguing that stability enables long-term planning and protects society from short-term political passions. Several themes shape the discussion: Public choice and political incentives. Politics does not operate in a purely public-spirited way; concentrated interests often organize more effectively than diffuse ones. Understanding this dynamic is essential for evaluating policy debates. Historical perspective as stabilizer. Many contemporary political phenomena appear unprecedented but are not. From Andrew Jackson to the present, democratic politics has repeatedly unsettled elites while preserving constitutional continuity. Technology as the dominant variable. McGinnis argues that AI will overshadow most current political disputes. As a general cognitive tool, it will be embedded across sectors, reshaping law, education, national security, and economic organization. Comparative advantage in an AI world. As machines assume cognitive tasks, human value will shift toward persuasion, judgment, and relational skills. Professionals must rethink where they add distinctive value. Education under acceleration. The coexistence of AI-enabled and AI-restricted learning may become necessary to preserve independent thinking while leveraging technological capability. The civic role of the wealthy. In Why Democracy Needs the Rich, McGinnis contends that wealthy individuals diversify democratic discourse, counterbalance concentrated interests, support minority rights movements, and fund public goods such as universities and museums. Their independence allows them to take risks others cannot. The episode also addresses rising student anxiety, the erosion of historical literacy, and the long-term question of meaning in a world where work may change substantially. McGinnis maintains that constitutional stability, plural centers of influence, and technological leadership remain central to American resilience. This conversation offers a grounded framework for thinking about democracy, incentives, and technological acceleration. It situates current debates within a longer historical arc while identifying AI as the structural force most likely to define the next decade.
