Cesar Aguilera is the co-founder of Artsemble Underground, and Artsemble Underground Gallery, and the art curator of the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center, known for his mixed media paintings, drawing, oil painting, sculpture, film, special effects, make-up, costume design, acting and performance art.
We had the opportunity to interview a founder of Gulf Coast Leisure "GCL" Marco "M" Cruz. Gulf Coast Leisure is an Art and Entertainment company, of young talented creatives who all believe they can make SWFL a better place through quality events and positive community engagement. M takes us through his vision of GCL, what the company represents to the community, and how passion fuels his work ethic to make his vision a reality. Jim Griffith is a musician and art center director. He got his M.M. degree from the Juilliard School in 1987, his undergraduate degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and attended Florida State University. He’s been a member of the Hudson String Quartet in New York and director of the New Arts Festival in Fort Myers. He formerly served as principal violist of the New York Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, and the New York Virtuosi, and he’s played with a bunch of other orchestras around the country over the years. He’s been with the Naples Philharmonic since 1989. In 1997 he formed a nonprofit called Florida Arts, Inc. in order to create a home for the arts in downtown Fort Myers, and he managed the founding and development of the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center.
My guest this episode is Angela Page: she's frontwoman for the punk/post punk band, The Young Dead, and founder of the feminist arts collective “Love Your Rebellion” which works to empower marginalized populations through social education, community service and arts diversity. Angela is also the Marketing and Studio manager for the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers.
