Russell & Robert meet Barbara Dawson for a behind the scenes visit to Francis Bacon's Studio, installed in Dublin's iconic Hugh Lane Gallery. The gallery is currently closed to the public for major renovations so we thought it would be a great opportunity to bring the studio and galleries to life with this exclusive audio tour, while closed to public. A visit to Francis Bacon's Studio at Hugh Lane Gallery gives you a unique opportunity to experience the working process of one of the twentieth century's greatest artists.Born in Dublin in 1909, Bacon grew up in county Kildare. He left home at the age of sixteen and eventually settled in London where he established himself as one of the leading international artists of his generation. Bacon moved into 7 Reece Mews, London, in 1961 where he lived and worked until his death in 1992.In 1998, director Barbara Dawson secured the donation of Francis Bacon's studio from the artist's heir, John Edwards, and Brian Clarke, executor of the Estate of Francis Bacon. Her vision was to remove the entire studio including all of the items without exception, as well as the architectural features, and relocate the studio as it was, to the Hugh Lane Gallery. In the August of that year, as project manager, she assembled a team of conservators, curators, and archaeologists to carry out the move. The archaeologists made survey and elevation drawings of the small studio, mapping out the spaces and locations of all the objects, while the conservators prepared the works for travel and curators tagged and packed each of the items, including the dust. The walls, doors floor and ceiling were also removed.Follow @TheHughLane and visit: https://hughlane.ie/arts_artists/francis-bacons-studio/ Hosted on Acast. Anna Coleman Ladd was an artist whose work changed lives in the aftermath of World War I. Best known as a sculptor and painter, Anna used her talent in an unexpected and deeply human way: creating facial prosthetics for soldiers who had been severely disfigured in combat. We'll explore her early life and artistic training, what led her to Paris during the war, and how she founded the Studio for Portrait Masks, where she crafted delicate copper masks that restored not just faces, but dignity and confidence to wounded veterans. At a time when reconstructive surgery was still in its infancy, Anna's work sat at the intersection of art, medicine, and compassion. In this week's episode Vince discusses how in NYC, urgency is selective: buyers remain cautious, sellers are measured, yet competitively priced homes in the right buildings and neighborhoods are moving quickly, revealing pockets of renewed momentum beneath a seemingly steady surface. Meanwhile, Connecticut shows a different form of urgency—driven by lifestyle migrations, limited inventory, and strong demand for turnkey properties in desirable towns and school districts. The moment the right home hits the market, competition surges. Together, these markets create a regional ecosystem where urgency does not disappear; it simply shifts. Understanding where that urgency is concentrated—and how pricing, product, and buyer psychology shape it—has become essential for consumers, brokers, and investors navigating the corridor between city and suburbs. In this episode of the HOZ Comedy Podcast, the crew kicks things off with a recap of recent shows and a real conversation about comic professionalism and what it takes to properly host a room, especially in light of the Studio 63 closure. From lessons learned to gratitude for the community, the tone is reflective but still funny. The conversation shifts into future plans, branding, and appreciation for the supporters who've been rocking with the podcast and live shows. From there, things get competitive with a deep dive into fantasy football, NFL debates, and the kind of sports arguments that only friends can survive. The second half takes a hard left into storytelling, touching on travel dreams of Australia, classic video game nostalgia, and some absolutely wild personal stories, ranging from awkward massage experiences to school memories nobody asked to relive. The laughs keep coming with a friend's unforgettable club story and honest reflections on virginity, young love, and growing up. The episode wraps with final thoughts, jokes, and a look ahead at what's next for the podcast, same energy, bigger plans, and more stories you probably shouldn't repeat at work.

Kathryn Hahn never set out to be an explicitly comedic actress. But starting with breakthrough roles in instant classics like ‘Anchorman' and ‘Step Brothers,' she has slowly but surely established herself as a comedy powerhouse who can go toe-to-toe with everyone from Will Ferrell to Amy Poehler. So it should come as no surprise that she spent 2025 stealing scenes from Seth Rogen on his Apple TV satire ‘The Studio.' In this episode, Hahn breaks down how she embraced her character Maya's signature style, reveals the famous guest star who impressed her most, and explains how the Season 1 cliffhanger predicted the Netflix-Warner Bros. deal that could reshape Hollywood forever. She also shares stories from the sets of her iconic comedy films, discusses the dream come true of entering the Marvel universe as Agatha Harkness, and teases what fans can expect from the upcoming second season of ‘The Studio.' Freddy Got Fingered (2001) was chosen by Supporter and friend of the show Blake, and it stands as one of the most infamous, chaotic, and downright bewildering productions ever funded by a major Hollywood studio. Directed by and starring Tom Green at the height of his MTV shock-comedy fame, the film was conceived as a vehicle to capture — and escalate — his unpredictable, confrontational brand of humor. Fox initially expected a quirky, outrageous teen comedy, but Green pushed the project into a surreal, boundary-smashing experiment, gleefully testing how far studio executives were willing to go. With a budget of around $14 million, he was given surprising creative freedom, shooting scenes that baffled executives but perfectly embodied his anti-comedy sensibilities.Behind the scenes, the production became something of a Hollywood legend. Tom Green committed fully to every bizarre creative impulse, often rewriting or improvising scenes on the day of shooting, much to the confusion of cast and crew. Actors like Rip Torn and Julie Hagerty were brought into the madness, delivering straight-faced performances amid escalating absurdity. Studio executives, increasingly horrified by what they were seeing, considered interfering but ultimately allowed Green to finish the film exactly as he envisioned it. Upon release, Freddy Got Fingered was critically savaged and won multiple Razzie Awards — including Worst Picture — but over the years it has gained a cult following, celebrated by some as a piece of surrealist outsider art wrapped in the guise of a studio comedy. If you enjoy the show and would like to support us, we have a Patreon here.Referral links also help out the show if you were going to sign up:NordVPNNordPassTrailer Guy Plot SummaryPrepare yourself… for a comedy that went too far, then kept going. When Gord Brody, a wannabe animator with a vivid imagination and zero impulse control, leaves home to chase his dreams, chaos follows in every direction. From catastrophic career moves to catastrophic family moments, Gord's journey spirals into a whirlwind of wild gags, screaming matches, and deeply questionable decisions — all delivered with the enthusiasm of a man who has absolutely nothing to lose.Freddy Got Fingered — a film so outrageous, so unhinged, and so defiantly stupid… you'll wonder how it ever got made.Fun FactsTom Green personally promoted the film in extreme ways, including arriving at the Razzies to accept his awards in person - and playing harmonica on stage until producers dragged him off.The film's infamous “Daddy, would you like some sausage?” scene has become one of the most quoted and memed moments in early-2000s comedy.Freddy Got Fingered was Tom Green's feature directorial debut, following the success of The Tom Green Show on MTV.Rip Torn agreed to the role because he admired Green's fearlessness, even though Torn described some days on set as “completely insane.”Several of the movie's props and costumes, including the sausage-pulley rig, were built by Green himself.Despite being critically panned, the movie later became a favourite of filmmakers like Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, who praised its “anti-comedy genius.”The initial test screenings reportedly caused walkouts, but studio executives decided to keep most scenes intact because Green insisted the discomfort was the point. The film includes several cameos from MTV personalities of the era, tying it directly to early-2000s pop culture.thevhsstrikesback@gmail.comhttps://linktr.ee/vhsstrikesback

This Sunday, we slowed down a familiar story and discovered just how disruptive it really was. In Luke 2, the announcement of Jesus' birth may have taken only about 30 seconds, but in that moment the veil between heaven and earth thinned, time seemed to pause, and everything changed. What looked small—a baby in a manger, an announcement to shepherds—was actually God making a move that would shake the universe. While everyone else was expecting a king on a throne, God introduced the birth of Jesus, first to shepherds.Luke, the only Gospel writer to include the shepherds, wants us to see something essential: God does not see humanity through social status, credibility, or influence. He sees us through availability. Shepherds—considered culturally unreliable and untrustworthy—became the first witnesses and the first evangelists of the Messiah. From the very beginning, the gospel revealed itself to be upside-down, surprising, and deeply hopeful. This story may be two thousand years old, but it's still unfolding. The question it leaves us with is simple: Are we available and are we paying attention to when God moves in ways we didn't expect? May our hunger for God grow, our expectations be reshaped, and our hearts stay open to the kind of Kingdom that still turns the world upside down.Merry Christmas! For more info, you can go to our website, check us out on Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube. FC HEIDENHEIM. War dies ein wichtiger Schritt für St. PAULI auf dem Weg zum Klassenerhalt? Wen können sie nach unten ziehen? Schließlich befindet sich derzeit die halbe Bundesliga im Abstiegskampf... In this encouraging message, Pastor Levi Lusko speaks directly to those who feel stuck in grief, loss, or emotional pain. He reminds listeners that sorrow is a season—not a life sentence—and that God specializes in restoration. Drawing from Scripture and personal testimony, Levi reassures us that joy will return, even if life never looks exactly the same as before. God redeems pain, walks closely with the brokenhearted, and promises that hope is never lost. This message is a powerful reminder that your story isn't over, your tears matter to God, and happiness will find you again—because God is faithful.Studio cats Jaggy and Tedi agree: healing takes time, but hope is always closer than you think.
How to turn anger about environmental issues into constructive action in Singapore and beyond. Synopsis: Every first and third Tuesday of the month, The Straits Times analyses the beat of the changing environment, from biodiversity conservation to climate change. With the world settling for yet another watered down deal at the UN climate conference COP30, combating climate change is in an uphill battle. Some activists have even taken matters into their own hands to provoke stronger action. In November, climate activist Greta Thunberg joined environmental group Extinction Rebellion in dyeing the waters of Venice’s iconic canals green with a non-toxic liquid to highlight the effects of climate collapse. In this episode co-hosted by ST environment correspondents Shabana Begum and Ang Qing, they discuss whether individual actions can help make a meaningful difference to the global problem. They are joined by Mr Veerappan Swaminathan, chief executive officer of consultancy Sustainable Living Lab (SL2) Group. He also co-founded Repair Kopitiam, an initiative that helps residents fix their household items to reduce waste. Also unpacking the issues is National University of Singapore assistant professor Alisius Leong, who investigates public opinions on environmental and health issues. This episode was recorded and filmed on Dec 2 at SPH Media’s revamped auditorium, in front of a live audience of 60 ST readers. It was the sixth and final ST Podcast Live! MUSICViolet Grohl, daughter of Dave Grohl, released her first two solo singles, "THUM" and "Applefish", on Dec. 5. ICYMI: Filter, Filter Eleven and Local H are teaming up for a spring tour that starts March 5th in Wenatchee, Washington and wraps up April 1st in Cleveland. Tickets go on sale Friday. It looks like Oasis fans will definitely have to wait until 2027 to see the band again. Liam Gallagher answered fans' questions on X about continuing their reunion tour, and when one fan asked him to announce dates for next year already, Gallagher replied: “We're not doing anything in 2026 sorry.” Loudwire.com published a list of five '70s rock stars who never drank or did drugs. Unfortunately, it sounds like it's not happening. At least not anymore. On the bright side, it sounds like they're in a really good place. https://people.com/pamela-anderson-on-liam-neeson-relationship-exclusive-11864356 AND FINALLY'USA Today' has picked its list for the worst Christmas songs of all time. They are: Alvin and the Chipmunks, ‘The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)' Elmo and Patsy, ‘Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer'NewSong, ‘The Christmas Shoes' Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, ‘The Little Drummer Boy' New Kids on the Block, ‘Funky Funky Xmas' 'USA Today' called their number one pick for worst Christmas song "the novelty song from Hell."Sure there's those annoying Christmas songs we hear every year . . . but let's take it up a notch with Christmas carols from HELL. 1. "Here Comes Santa Claus" by Mrs. Miller. She was discovered by the announcer from "Laugh-In", which should tell you all you need to know.2. "Silent Night" by Wing. Wing Han Tsang was from Hong Kong and started singing as a hobby when she moved to New Zealand. Surprisingly, she made it kinda big. "South Park" even parodied her back in the day.3. "White Christmas" by Tiny Tim. There's also "Silent Night", featuring a spoken-word break where he takes aim at hypocrites, fornicators, and child molesters. You know, just regular Christmas caroler stuff. 4. "Little Drummer Boy" by William Hung. Isn't it crazy to think there's a whole generation who has no idea who this "American Idol" treasure is? 5. "I Got a Cold for Christmas" by the Three Stooges. Not terrible, but not exactly a classic.6. "Jingle Bells" by William Shatner, featuring Henry Rollins. Yes, THAT Henry Rollins.7. "Santa Claws Is Coming to Town" by Alice Cooper, featuring John 5, Billy Sheehan, and Vinny Appice. 8. "The Night Before Christmas" by David Hasselhoff. This one is extra cheesy, but did you expect anything less?9. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" by Regis Philbin. This one has a cameo by a pre-Oval Office Donald Trump, who offers Rudolph a job in place of Santa.10. "Jingle Hell" by Christopher Lee. Yes, one of the greatest actors of all time. He dabbled in heavy metal later in life. This actually isn't his only holiday song, either. He also did covers of "The Little Drummer Boy" and "Silent Night".11. "Away in a Manger" by the Brady Bunch. This one only features the vocal talents of Marcia, a.k.a. Maureen McCormick. It's from an album called "Merry Christmas from the Brady Bunch".See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
