The other day one of my teammates, Daphne V Smith said with some concern, "People are asking questions." "What would they like to know?" I asked. She proceeded to explain, "Why are you focusing on Web3 and blockchain along with publishing? Isn't the metaverse just a fad? Are NFTs a scam? Are you still doing Igniting Souls Conference? What about Author Elite Awards? And many other questions." I asked her if she wanted to hear my thoughts. She invited me to share. When I finished she said, "This is the Kary I know. People need to hear your heart on this, and that you care for them. I had no idea how this all fits together. This is deep and super important about where our world is headed." I thought for a moment. Well, what if we do a Livestream where you ask me anything, Daphne? I don't want to know your questions in advance. And let's have whoever wants to join us hop on and they can ask questions too via Zoom. Or if they want to just listen they can watch via Facebook Live. Thus, our recent Behind the Curtain with Igniting Souls. This past year I've invested hundreds and hundreds of hours researching the new world, we're about to enter. It's exciting, but I also have grave concerns. WARNING: Contains explicit language at one point when this global livestream was hacked by outsiders. These hackers verbally attacked guests and our moderators could not mute them or remove them. We had no choice but to end the recording and start another one. We kept both livestreams unedited so you can understand the full context for what transpired afterwards. Kary closed the second livestream praying for these individuals.

Recognize your hurts, release your shame and reclaim your voice are the main themes in Daphne V. Smith's book "What's Your Scarlet Letter?" Daphne joins me for a deep, real conversation discussing areas of our lives that have caused us pain, shame and even silenced us. Daphne helps women take off their masks in order to live free, secure and empowered. She helps them break free from traps and lies, embrace healing and hope and transform into a life of truth. I share how my past abortion experience left me feeling like I was wearing a big red scarlet letter "A" and then I added a "D" after a divorce. So whether you or someone you know has been hurt by abortion, abuse, bullying, divorce, infidelity or miscarriage, this conversation will offer hope, help, and healing! We'd love to hear your feedback and how it's helped you in your situations. Daphne was so generous and has a gift for you, a free chapter of her book!!! Today, I’m going to do something a little different. I don’t have any notes for this episode. Instead, I’m here to share from my heart, and to encourage the encourager (that’s you!). Since you’re listening to this show, you’re probably a leader or influencer in some way. You’re someone who is constantly encouraging other people, and helping them see what they can’t see in themselves. What comes with that is a whole lot of responsibility, misunderstandings, and being taken for granted. Today, it’s your turn! I’m here to encourage and celebrate you. The difference between the called and the chosen is that the chosen are the ones who choose to answer the call. You have chosen to answer that call, and that road is definitely full of challenges. Please know that your work is not in vain. You are an amazing encourager, and when you hit obstacles and stumble or fall down, it’s time to get back up again! Turn those obstacles into opportunities. I’d like to issue you a challenge to help you along the way. Sometime within the next 24 hours, sit down and write a letter to your future self, ten years from now. Write to your future self about where you want to be at that point -- not just geographically, but also in your career, your spiritual journey, and your personal life. Who are you? What are you doing? Who are you impacting? What are you giving? Remember, your living is not in vain. You’re here to make an amazing difference in the world, and I’m so thankful to have this opportunity to encourage you along the way. In This Episode: [00:45] - Jevonnah welcomes listeners to the show. In today’s special episode, she’ll be sharing straight from the heart. [02:18] - There’s something special about you, Jevonnah points out. [03:11] - Jevonnah talks about a song she particularly loves, and plays part of the song for listeners who aren’t familiar with it (or who could benefit from hearing it!). [05:25] - Jevonnah encourages listeners not to dwell on the obstacles along the way. [07:13] - As a challenge, write a letter to yourself ten years in the future the way you want it to be at that point. [09:22] - All is going to be well, Jevonnah reassures listeners. If it’s a struggle now, it won’t be that way forever. [09:52] - Jevonnah talks about something she read recently that explains that your message won’t be for everyone. [12:01] - Jevonnah reiterates that your living is not in vain, and invites listeners to share this episode with anyone you know who needs encouragement. [12:43] - Today’s shoutout goes to two amazing leaders: Winston Faircloth and Daphne V. Smith. [15:04] - To close out the episode, Jevonnah plays the full song Is My Living In Vain by The Clark Sisters.
