NOTES:Have you ever been to a wedding and listened to the DJ or Band absolutely butcher someone’s name when they’re announcing them? Ugh. I think we’ve all heard that happen more than once.To avoid embarrassing mispronunciations, include phonetic spellings for everyone that’s going to be introduced at your wedding - even if it’s a virtual wedding. Rehearse these pronunciations with whoever is going to be reading the script. Finally, go over these pronunciations again on the day of your wedding or have one of your delegates practice this with the DJ so you don’t have to.
NOTES:Have you been to a wedding and thought, wait, who are those people? They don't look like they're in the right place. While I'm not saying you need to hire secret service to make sure unwanted guests crash your wedding a la Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, you still want to be cognizant if other guests at the property will be able to gain access to your wedding. Maybe your venue has a popular bar and restaurant right next to your reception, or they have public spaces next to the outdoor patio next to your cocktail hour. You'll want to ask your venue how they ensure your guests are able to find your wedding while other guests are directed away from it and there's little opportunity for overlap. To learn what other questions you might be forgetting to ask your wedding venue, visit my blog post >>> verveeventco.com/weddingvenuequestions.
2020-05-17-0830 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning, May 17, 2020 in the 8:30 AM service. Scripture: Luke 16; Luke 24:27; Nehemiah 6:9; Psalms 138:1-2; Habakkuk 3:17-19 Notes: - Have you been amazed at the feeling of your emotions lately? - Are you frustrated and fearful at times; feeling helpless, hopeless and useless? - All these emotions are spiritual warfare. - God will get you through this. - When we pray God hears us. - Satan is trying his best to confuse us. - Read God’s word. God will never leave us or forsake us. - There is no problem higher than our God: stand on it and count it.
NOTES:Have you ever been to an event and felt incredibly self-conscious because you ate something and you could never get that taste out of your mouth? It's the worst! Don't do this to your wedding guests. Avoid strong smelling or tasting ingredients in the menu that could offend some guests or make them feel self-conscious, like raw onions, garlic, or blue cheese.
NOTES:Have you ever been to a wedding where you're dancing like a maniac on the dance floor and then you go to the bar and find out that it's already closed? How did that make you feel? I bet you had some choice words for that bartender. Make sure you schedule last call about 45 minutes before the last song so guests have time to get their last drink before the bar closes. And make sure the DJ or band announces when last call is happening so guests aren't surprised when the lights turn on and they were looking forward to another cup of your amazing signature cocktail.
