This week's episode is with founders of the Step Up Club, Alice Olins and Phanella Mayall Fine. The Step Up Club is a modern voice in the women's career conversation, in fact, Stylist Magazine said "it's the only voice to listen to in the women's career sphere". In this wide-ranging conversation, we chat about everything from their career stories, working mum guilt, career crossroads, confidence and validation. So if you're working and it isn't working or you want to be working - then this episode is for you. Enjoy. PS. Alice and Phanella have just launched an amazing online version of their in-person Step Up School and are offering Motherkind listeners 15% off. Do you feel like a confident person? Even if your answer is yes, most of us have major wobbles from time to time (I know I do!) And as a mum, there are so many times when confidence is needed - those early newborn days where you've got all of this new stuff to get your head around, going to baby groups on your own, being a newbie at the school gate and going back to work after maternity leave all take confidence, and we don't always have it. My guests on this episode - Phanella Mayall-Fine and Alice Olins - have some brilliant thoughts on the matter. Together they run Step Up Club, a great organisation that gives women career support and networking opportunities. Their book, Step Up, was published by Penguin in 2016 and they recently launched The Step Up School. We also discuss Saudi Arabia lifting the ban on women being able to drive and Tinder collecting our data for commercial purposes (oh Tinder!).
