    1. The State of the Iran Conflict The U.S. is in week two of a war with Iran, claiming major military success Iran’s missile and drone capabilities have been nearly eliminated. Iran’s navy has been almost entirely destroyed. The U.S. is using overwhelming force, rapid strikes, and no gradual escalation. 2. U.S. Objectives (as framed in the discussion) The stated goals of “Operation Epic Fury”: Destroy Iran's missile stockpiles, launchers, and weapons manufacturing. Destroy Iran’s navy. Permanently prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. 3. Justification for War Iran has been at war with the U.S. for 47 years, funding terrorism (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis). Iran attempted to assassinate former President Trump and other U.S. officials (Bolton, O’Brien, etc.). This war is described as “America-first,” not about Israel, and responds to direct threats against Americans. 4. Political Framing & Criticism of Opponents Democrats are: Confused in their messaging. Trying to politicize gas prices. Accusing Trump of being manipulated by Israel. Media personalities (notably Tucker Carlson) are heavily criticized for: Alleged pro‑Islamist, anti‑Israel, anti‑American rhetoric. Being amplified by foreign adversaries (Iran, Russia, Muslim Brotherhood). 5. Foreign Influence Qatar is: Funding U.S. universities with $6.6 billion. Supporting Hamas. Influencing American academic and political spheres. 6. Economic Effects Gas prices have risen during the conflict. The increase is temporary. Prices are still much lower than under Biden. If Iran’s regime collapses, oil prices may drop significantly. 7. Vision of the Endgame The conflict will be short, decisive, and not like Iraq or Afghanistan. Expectations: No long-term occupation. No large-scale troop deployment. Focused destruction of hostile infrastructure. Confidence that the Iranian regime might collapse, leading to a more stable region without prolonged war. In this episode of Anything But Average, Brittany and Christina dive into a very real conversation about health, healing, and the wake-up calls our bodies sometimes give us. Brittany shares the unexpected experience of landing in the hospital for an emergency appendectomy, walking through the symptoms, the fast-moving hospital visit, surgery, and what recovery has actually looked like in the days following. From the anxiety of not knowing what was happening to realizing how incredible the human body truly is, this experience became a powerful reminder about paying attention to the signals our bodies send. Christina also opens up about her own health journey right now, including ongoing back issues, exploring peptides, and the work required to maintain strength, mobility, and resilience. Together they unpack: • What happens when your body forces you to slow down • The importance of acting quickly when something feels off • Recovery, patience, and giving your body the time it needs • Exploring new tools and therapies that support healing • Why health awareness and self-care should never be optional   This conversation is honest, reflective, and a reminder that even the strongest, most driven people still need to listen to their bodies. Sometimes the biggest lesson is simply this: health is everything. It grows with small, purposeful moments every day. In this episode, we look at how integrating short, focused writing tasks into your lessons can help students process language, express ideas, and build confidence in their writing. Whether you teach novice or advanced language learners, these practical strategies will fit into your teaching routine. Topics in this Episode: Many learners equate writing with grades, red ink, and getting it “right.” That pressure alone can shut down risk-taking.But writing confidence and skill grow best through frequent, low-stakes practice that feels doable and purposeful. Frequent, low-pressure writing is one of the most effective ways to help students develop both confidence and communicative ability.Short writing prompts give learners space to:Reflect on inputOrganize thoughtsRehearse languageCommunicate meaning without the pressure of perfectionThe key is thoughtful management:Clear purposeAppropriate lengthDefined time limitsMeaningful follow-upWhen writing is framed as practice—not performance—you create a classroom culture where students are willing to try, revise, and improve.Classroom Strategies:Keep Writing Tasks Short and PurposefulAlign Tasks to Proficiency LevelsManage Time, Space, and Follow-UpWhen students write often, briefly, and with purpose: Proficiency develops naturally.Fluency increases.Anxiety decreases.Confidence grows.Ready For Tomorrow Quick Win PD Course:  Short Writing Tasks That Build Confidence and Proficiency A Few Ways We Can Work Together:Ready For Tomorrow Quick Win PD for Individual TeachersOn-Site or Virtual Workshops for Language DepartmentsSelf-Paced Program for For Language DepartmentsConnect With Me & The World Language Classroom Community:Website: wlclassrom.comInstagram:  @wlclassroomFacebook Group: World Language ClassroomFacebook:  /wlclassroomLinkedIn: Joshua CabralBluesky: /wlclassroom.bsky.sociaX (Twitter):  @wlclassroomThreads: @wlclassroomSend me a text and let me know your thoughts on this episode or the podcast.

In this thoughtful and business-boosting conversation, Ryan Cartlidge is joined by returning guest Veronica Boutelle — founder of Dogbiz, author of How to Run a Dog Business, and a long-time leader in helping positive reinforcement dog trainers build sustainable, values-aligned businesses. With a rare blend of experience as a professional dog trainer, business owner, and former classroom teacher, teacher educator, and curriculum developer, Veronica brings a grounded, practical lens to the "softer skills" that can make or break a trainer's confidence, visibility, and long-term success. Together, Ryan and Veronica unpack two of the most common struggles trainers face behind the scenes: imposter syndrome and isolation. Veronica explores how these experiences often show up as fear — fear of not knowing enough, fear of being judged by peers, fear of rejection from potential clients, and fear of "getting it wrong" and causing harm. They also discuss how the lack of shared professional standards in the dog training industry can intensify doubt, and why community and belonging matter so deeply for staying resilient and moving forward. Throughout the episode, Veronica reframes confidence not as the absence of fear, but as the willingness to take action anyway — building systems, developing skills, and learning through experience. From risk-taking as experimentation, to treating business decisions like training data, this conversation is packed with perspective shifts that will help you stop waiting for "ready" and start moving toward the business (and impact) you truly want. Throughout this episode, we discuss: ✅ Why imposter syndrome and isolation are so common in the positive reinforcement dog training world ✅ How fear fuels inaction — and why confidence is often simply "doing anyway" ✅ The role of belonging, validation, and status in how we show up publicly as professionals ✅ Why risk is unavoidable in business (and how to reframe it as experimentation) ✅ How community support changes everything — for both wins and setbacks Whether you're a new trainer trying to find your footing or an experienced professional wrestling with visibility, pricing, or self-doubt, this episode is a powerful reminder that confidence isn't something you wait for — it's something you build through action, reflection, and connection. Interview with Max Porterfield, President & CEO of Visionary Copper & Gold Inc.Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/visionary-copper-gold-mines-tsxvvgc-pitch-perfect-9001Recording date: 4th March 2026Visionary Copper & Gold is focused on unlocking the value of Point Leamington, a polymetallic VMS deposit in Newfoundland, Canada, that holds over 20 million tonnes of gold, silver, copper, and zinc mineralisation and has seen no modern exploration since 2004. The company's current Phase 1 drilling programme is delivering early results that management believes confirm the deposit's potential to grow significantly from its existing resource base. The deposit's existing pit-constrained resource contains approximately 500,000 ounces of gold, 8 million ounces of silver, 170 million pounds of copper, and 700 million pounds of zinc. Gold currently accounts for approximately 55% of contained metal value. However, the most consequential development from recent drilling is not within the known resource but within the footwall beneath it.Visionary has confirmed a new copper zone, named Kraken, in the footwall to Point Leamington's main massive sulphide lens. This type of structure is a defining characteristic of the world's largest VMS deposits. At Ming in Newfoundland, a copper stringer zone sits below the main lens. At Flin Flon Bay in Manitoba, the copper-rich footwall accompanies a zinc-dominant main horizon. The first Kraken hole returned a 76-metre interval at 0.45% copper and a second intersection of 23 metres at 1.5% copper which are consistent with the early-stage definition of footwall zones that have materially expanded comparable systems.Alongside the Kraken results, the company has extended the confirmed strike length of Point Leamington to over one kilometre. This is an important structural distinction. Most large VMS systems — including Ming, Lalor, and 777 in Manitoba — have strike extents of 200 to 250 metres, with their tonnage coming primarily from depth. The small number of VMS systems with significantly longer strike extents, such as Kidd Creek and Flin Flon, have produced some of the largest total resource outcomes globally. Point Leamington's confirmed kilometre-plus strike places it in this rarer category. The development plan for 2026 is clear and sequenced. Phase 1 drilling will continue stepping out around the Kraken intersection. Phase 2 will follow after ground conditions improve, targeting resource upgrades and further Kraken delineation. A two-phase metallurgical programme will collect data to support economic studies, and the company is targeting an updated resource estimate and a preliminary economic assessment within the year.Beyond Newfoundland, Visionary holds the Rainbow/Pine Bay copper asset in Manitoba. An advanced exploration permit application is currently under review, and an Environmental Act licence for full-scale production is being prepared. The asset sits within trucking distance of three concentrators and approximately 30 minutes from a rail line linked to Canada's proposed Churchill port export corridor — a route that has attracted attention from federal and provincial governments in the context of critical mineral supply chain security. The entire Eastern Canada portfolio was assembled in 2016 for $1.1 million. With gold above $3,000 per ounce and structural copper deficits widening, Visionary is positioned at an early stage of what could be a significant resource expansion cycle at one of Canada's most overlooked large-scale VMS systems.View Visionary Copper & Gold's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/visionary-copper-gold-minesSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Some negotiations are lost long before a single word is agreed. They're lost in the rush to fill silence … in the instinct to ease tension … in the urge to make the other person comfortable.   My guest in this episode understands this better than most. Mildred Yuan is a leading talent agent, negotiator and executive coach - and she also happens to be my partner in life. Years ago she was my dance partner too, back when competitive ballroom dancing played a big role in our lives.   Her approach to negotiation traces back to a moment when she was just sixteen, staring down her formidable Tiger Mom across the kitchen table … and discovering a lesson she still uses today. Influence often belongs to the person willing to stay in discomfort a little longer.   In this conversation we explore negotiation, self-advocacy, and the moment you realise that no one is coming to rescue you. At some point, you have to decide to stand your ground … and put on your own superhero cape. The Unlock Moment is hosted by Dr Gary Crotaz, PhD — executive coach, speaker and award-winning author. Accenture research finds Irish leaders double down on AI & hiring but employees remain sceptical

Irish business leaders have entered 2026 with the highest confidence and appetite for transformation across Europe and beyond, with 95% expecting a heightened pace of change this year, the highest of all 20 countries surveyed and compared with 82% across Europe. This momentum is matched by economic optimism, with 96% of Irish leaders expecting domestic revenue growth in 2026, surpassing the European average of 91% and marking the highest level of confidence among all European countries surveyed. This is according to Accenture's latest Pulse of Change survey, which reveals that despite leaders' strong confidence, there is a widening gap between leaders and employees when it comes to AI readiness, communication and overall confidence in technological change. Reflecting insights from 3,650 leaders and 3,350 employees globally (including 1,070 executives and 929 employees across Europe) spanning 20 industries and 20 countries, the research found that 94% of Irish leaders expect to increase investment in AI this year. A further 90% of Irish organisations expect their hiring plans to grow in 2026, compared with 71% across Europe. Despite this, only 44% of Irish employees feel secure in their job or role. The discrepancies continue when it comes to Generative AI (gen AI). Over nine in 10 (91%) Irish leaders said their experience with gen AI over the past year has changed the way they think about technology for the better, compared to 69% in the US and 79% in the UK. Employees, however, offer a contrasting perspective: only 51% said their experience with gen AI over the past year changed the way they think about technology for the better, compared with 61% across Europe. Confidence remains low among employees more broadly. Just over one in five (23%) say they can use AI tools confidently and explain them to others, compared with 33% in the UK and 25% across Europe. Only 27% feel very prepared to respond to technological disruption in 2026, including emerging technologies and AI, compared with 34% in Europe. This stands in contrast to Irish leaders, 57% of whom say they are well prepared to respond. Hilary O'Meara, Country Managing Director, Accenture in Ireland said: "Irish business leaders are demonstrating remarkable ambition when it comes to AI investment and reinvention. However, this research shows that for organisations to fully unlock the value of AI, they need to bring their people with them. Employees are asking for clearer communication and clarity in how AI will change their roles and skills. The companies that succeed in 2026 won't just scale AI technologies, they'll scale trust, transparency and capability, resulting in greater employee confidence. That is how Ireland will sustain its competitive edge and ensure AI becomes a driver of shared growth for both leaders and employees." Further findings from the research include: Over half (56%) of leaders say they plan to prioritise upskilling and reskilling their people for AI?enhanced work this year. 100% of Irish leaders say their organisation's workforce has the appropriate training to work with AI, yet only 55% of employees agree. Only 3% of Irish employees say their roles or responsibilities have undergone very significant change due to AI, compared with 7% in Europe and 19% in Switzerland. Communication appears to be a major contributing factor: only 17% of Irish employees strongly agree that leadership has very clearly communicated how AI agents and Agentic AI will impact the workforce, including changes to roles and required skills. The last quarter of the 19th Century was in some ways, like the first quarter of the 21st Century - full of tone-deaf business barons gambling building vast riches — financing politicians and in accelerating the planet towards world wars. There are ripples in the timeverse, all the way to now, because the latest empire has started a war that it cannot end. The infinite rule of war is do not start a war you cannot finish — British back in 1879 set off a whole host of pain for itself by invading Zululand because the Boers of the Transvaal were flexing. First, however, was the small matter of trying to Crush the Zulu empire. Not only had the British suffered sharp reverses at Hlobane and, most dramatically, at Isandlwana, but Lieutenant-Colonel Pearson's column had now been shut up in Eshowe for nearly two months. At first the invasion had been greeted in Britain with confidence and patriotic support, yet that mood began to shift as the scale of the setbacks became clear and questions were asked about Lord Chelmsford's conduct of the campaign. Confidence gave way to unease as news filtered home that the war was proving far more difficult than anyone had expected. So it is to Eshowe we go. At the end of March 1879 Zulu warriors were spotted hiking down the hills near the Eshowe garrison, heading towards Nyezane near Gingindlovu on the coastal flats. They were led by Somopho of the emaNgweni ikhanda, Cetshwayo's chief armourer — and the army he led towards the Thukela was an interesting bunch. They included 3000 Tsonga from St Lucia Bay, along with 1500 from the kwaGingindlovu ikhanda, joined by Dabulamanzi, Cetshwayo's headstrong son who lived at eNtumeni near Eshowe and who commandedd 1000 men. There were 3000 men of the iNgobamakhosi, uNokhenke, the uMbonambi and uMcijo, joined by 1500 of the iNdluyengwe. Chief Sigcwelegcwele led these amabutho, along with Phalane kaMdinwa of the Mphukunyoni — Phalane was of royal blood and set an imposing figure amongst his troops. He wore brass ornaments on his ankles and neck, and had grown his fingernails five centimeters long, they were apparently as white as ivory and gave him a dangerous cat-like appearance, he was tall, a Marvel Superhero of the Zulu. This force of about 11 000 was in Lord Chelmsford's way, and he was about to cross the Thukela River to relieve Pearson in Eshowe. Cetshwayo's was aware that the English Zulu chief, had turned his coat, John Dunn who had initially fled Zululand, then tried to remain neutral, had now openly thrown in his lot with Chelmsford's relief column. He had observed the British response to the defeat at Isandhlwana and realised that the Zulu could not win this war, nor even draw it. Chelmsford's response was to turn to John Dunn, and with him came something the British had lacked until then — a practical understanding of African warfare. Dunn encouraged constant forward reconnaissance, understood the rhythms and tactics of Zulu fighting, and insisted on the discipline of laagering, measures that addressed many of the army's earlier weaknesses. He was placed in charge of 244 men and effectively made chief of intelligence — a somewhat unusual appointment. Until then such responsibilities had normally fallen to regular British officers. Dunn, however, was no officer of the Crown. What he brought instead were deep personal ties within the Zulu kingdom, along with a network of scouts and informants. In Chelmsford's camp he would operate not only as an intelligence gatherer, but also as a crucial intermediary between the British command and the African world beyond their lines.
