Hello to you listening in Bettystown, Ireland!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Maybe this has happened to you: well-meaning family or friends tell you: just trust. And so you do. But what if your trust has been shaken? Trampled even? There's no help for it but to get back on the horse that threw you, grieve how you need to, and begin anew. I'm not fully into this practice myself; but I do know I'm headed in the right direction as the poet Thomas R. Smith writes in Trust:Trust"It's like so many other things in lifeto which you must say no or yes.So you take your car to the new mechanic.Sometimes the best thing to do is trust. The package left with the disreputable-lookingclerk, the check gulped by the night deposit, the envelope passed by dozens of strangers—all show up at their intended destinations. The theft that could have happened doesn't.Wind finally gets where it was goingthrough the snowy trees, and the river, evenwhen frozen, arrives at the right place. And sometimes you sense how faithfully your lifeis delivered, even though you can't read the address." ["Trust" by Thomas R. Smith, from Waking Before Dawn. © Red Dragonfly Press, 2007.]You're invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, follow, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!
