Daniel and Lee are joined by writer, musician, fellow podcaster, and good friend Kit Power, to cover the second film in the MCU, "The Incredible Hulk" (2008). Is this film rightly treated like the forgotten disfigured son it is, locked up in the attic and fed fishheads from a bucket? Or is it highly underrated? Is it at least better than Ang Lee's Hulk film? Lee and Daniel are back to cap off this run of the sex comedy series, this time with their friend and returning special guest Kit Power, who suggested the films they cover in this episode. We get to see more of the on-screen talents of Ann-Margret in the flashy Elvis film "Viva Las Vegas" (1964) & in the deep-but-depressing "Carnal Knowledge" (1971). Was Elvis a good actor, or did Ann-Margret steal his thunder? Can two people have six or seven dates in one day? Is a mash-up of "Viva Las Vegas" and "Death Race 2000" a good idea? Are there any easy answers to how to help the deeply flawed characters in "Carnal Knowledge"? How does Jack Nicholson fuck, and would we sleep with him? Also: what we've watched as of late and some REALLY terrible Elvis impersonation. A couple of great interviews this week as Arm Cast Dead Sexy Podcast host Armand Rosamilia gets to chat with: Kit Power, an author, podcaster, and blogger. His novel, GodBomb!, and novella collection Breaking Point were published by The Sinister Horror Company and are widely available, and his debut collection is out on November 3rd. His podcast, Watching RoboCop with Kit Power, sees him sitting down every month to discuss the greatest movie ever made with a guest, and recording the resulting conversation. And his My Life In Horror blog has been running at Gingernuts Of Horror for three years, where he discusses films, books, music and events that scarred him as a child. And then: Like many young writers, Javan Bonds dreams almost daily of the apocalypse – usually one populated by the walking dead. But his real-life day-to-day existence is almost as challenging as the world of zombies and collapsing civilizations. Javan, now 30 years old, legally blind and functionally deaf, and with congestive heart failure was diagnosed with Friedrich’s Ataxia, a form of muscular dystrophy, at the age of 11. In December 2015 doctors gave him six months to two years to live. Though that pronouncement has changed now and his health has improved somewhat, in that moment he decided that if he was going, he would leave something of himself behind to be remembered. So began his writing and publishing career. Sponsored by Subculture Corsets & Clothing
Lee and Daniel are back talking crime films, and are joined by their friend Jack Graham, returning as guest host, to help tackle the Coen brother's modern classic "Fargo" (1996). Also covered: what they've watched as of late; a tangent on Marvel tv shows and films; and some talk about VHS rental places, later on in the show. "Fargo" IMDB Jack Graham's links: His Twitter. The Bring Your Own Cinematic Trauma series continues with Tommy. Kit Power burns the midnight oil and calls in with his traumatic story as the entire integrity of show structure collapses under the weight of Ken Russell’s visual sadism with this classic rock opera. A strange transmission has imprinted on this weeks recording and it seems the Tachyon destroyer may be to blame. http://milomidnight.wixsite.comelectricdreamhouse Watching Robocop: http://talkingrobocop.libsyn.com/watching-robocop-with-kit-power https://www.patreon.com/kitpower Wrong With Authority: http://wrongwithauthority.blogspot.co.uk/ My Life In Horror – Tommy: http://gingernutsofhorror.com/my-life-in-horror/my-life-in-horror-sickness-will-surely-take-the-mind (loads of stuff in the archives there, including pieces on Last House On The Left, The Wasp Factory, Gremlins, and my hate letter to The Lost Boys) Author Pages on Amazon: Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/Kit-Power/e/B00K6J438K/ Amazon.co.uk: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kit-Power/e/B00K6J438K/ Kit’s Band: http://www.disciplesofgonzo.com/ Follow Kit: @KitGonzo on Twitter.
