The horror films in this list are already disturbing but they become more terrifying when you realize that they actually happened. These are 5 movies based on real possession cases. 5. The Conjuring based on The Perron Family After moving into a quaint farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island in 1970, Roger and Carolyn Perron along with their five daughters thought they had finally found their dream home. But they were wrong. Almost as soon as they moved in, weird and unusual things began happening. Their family dog, Sadie, refused to go inside the house and she was later found dead in the backyard. All of the clocks inside would stop at 3:07 AM every single night. 4. Deliver Us From Evil based on Ralph Sarchies' memoir Deliver Us From Evil is a 2014 film about an NYPD cop who encounters a series of bizarre, supernatural events while on the job, leading him to transition from the world of human crime to the supernatural. The film starts with three marines who discover an underground cavern in the in Iraq. As they explore it they start to scream as their helmet video feed suddenly goes black. Three years later, we meet NYPD officer, Ralph Sarchie, standing over a baby's corpse in a dark alley. 3. The Possession Inspired by the Haunted Dybbuk Box In the 2012 film, The Possession, the story revolves around a haunted Dybbuk (Dibbuk) box that falls in the possession of a young girl. When Clyde and Stephanie Brenek separated, they had to take turns caring for their two children, Em and Hannah. When Clyde went over to pick up the kids, they passed by a yard sale where Em is intrigued by an old wooden box with Hebrew writing on it. Clyde buys it but they can’t figure out how to open it. 2. The Entity based on Doris Bither First released in 1982, The Entity starred Barbara Hershey as Carla Moran, a woman being consistently raped and tortured by a malevolent spirit inside her home. Urged by a friend, Carla went to see a psychiatrist and undergo therapy, thinking the problem was psychological. But her psychiatrist believes that because of her past, the problem was purely self-inflicted. Soon, her friend, Cindy witnesses the attack herself and they begin to discuss that the issue could be supernatural. 1. The Haunting in Connecticut based on Carmen Snedeker The Haunting in Connecticut is a 2009 film loosely based on the real-life story of Carmen Snedeker and her family. In the film, Sara and Peter Campbell are looking for a rental home close to the hospital where their son Matthew had been receiving cancer treatments. Sara spots a man putting up a "For Rent" sign on a large house and he offers her a month off if she would rent the property right away and She agrees. So Peter, with his other son, Billy, and two nieces arrive and they each pick their choice of room. Matt, the eldest son, chooses the basement with a mysterious door So There were 5 Movies Based on Real Possession Case ---------- Possession cases may be rare but they do happen. And when they do, it can take hold of anyone, maybe even someone you know and love.

Maud Crawford disappeared from her home on March 2, 1957, sometime between 8:30 and 11 p.m. CST. At the time of her disappearance, Crawford was the first female attorney in Camden, Arkansas. Her law partner, Senator John L. McClellan, was chairing a high-profile Senate investigation into alleged mobster ties to organized labor. The case was international news for a time, as there was speculation that Crawford had been kidnapped by the Mafia to intimidate McClellan. No ransom note was ever delivered, no body was ever found, and the police have never solved the case. The night that Crawford disappeared, her husband went to the Malco Theater and thereafter a liquor store, a routine which he followed nearly every evening. At 8:30 p.m. Maud spoke by telephone with a cousin. When Clyde returned home about 11:30 p.m., he said that the house was fully lit inside and outside, and the television set was on in the living room. Maud's car was in the driveway with the keys. Her purse, with $142 in cash, was on a chair. When Maud did not return home by 1 a.m., Clyde drove around Camden to search for her.At 1 a.m. on March 3, he stopped two police officers to ask if there had been an automobile accident that might explain her absence. An hour later, he drove to the police station to report his wife missing. An extensive hunt for Crawford followed.Kristi Bryant interviews Beth Brickell an actress, writer, producer, and director who investigated the disappearance of Crawford in 1986. Beth was from Camden, Arkansas the same place that Maud was kidnapped. Beth went on to write a book on Maud Crawford’s disappearance, “The Disappearance of Maud Crawford”, that is available for purchase on www.luminousfilms.net.If you enjoy this podcast please leave a 5 star review and comment for a chance to be featured on a future episode.Investigating these cold cases is truly our passion project and we would not be able to do it without you! Takeaways – A podcast about learning from the wisdom of others

I am blessed to be around remarkable people. There are always Takeaways to learn. That is what I am sharing on this podcast. Takeaways – Life. Lessons. Learned. explores learning from the wisdom of others. I introduced Clyde Horner in Episode 5. He is a Chair with Vistage, the world's largest business advisory and executive coaching organizations. Clyde facilitates 3 executive groups, each of which has about 15 company owners, CEO's, executives, etc. The groups meet once a month. Additionally, Clyde meets with each member one-to-one for 2 hours each month. Between recording and releasing Episode 5 with Clyde something significant happened. Clyde had his 'last' one-to-one with one of his members. He went to have a 2 hour meeting with someone that was at the ending stages of life. When Clyde told me about his 'last' conversation it reminded me of the book Tuesday's with Morrie. I read Tuesday's with Morrie in college. It's a true story where the author, Mitch Albom, sees his old professor being interviewed by Ted Koppel on Niteline. This link is to the actual 3 part interview https://youtu.be/RtYyT6Hl3ms. Morrie Schwartz was dying of ALS. Mitch called Morrie, one thing led to another, and among the results was the book. Over the last 20 years Tuesday's with Morrie has sold more than 15 million copies in 45 different languages. Clyde and I talk about his 'last' conversation with his member. We talked a lot about lessons from Tuesday with Morrie. Here are just a few of the Takeaways that we discussed on this episode. When does a fish first notice water? What do you say to someone who is dying? How can we really appreciate life while we're living? There is a long pause around the 55:00 mark in the episode when I am looking for a quote from Morrie. Here it is. "Be alert and aware to the things that really interest you and go for it!" Thanks so much for listening! Please subscribe to "Takeaways", rate and review wherever you get your podcasts.
