You know her story from the books House of Darkness, House of Light, and from the movie The Conjuring. Andrea Perron has lived a life, unlike most others. Today we catch up with her to discuss what it was like revisiting the infamous house with her family after being away for so many years.  The feelings and emotions that overtook her, and the dark feelings that overtook some of her sisters.  We also dive into a conversation about how the global pandemic has affected our spiritual world and the massive paradigm shifts that we are currently going through, how it may turn out, and what may be able to lead us to a connective idea of “one.” All that and more today on The Grave Talks. PART 2 - AVAILABLE TO GRAVE KEEPERS ONLY - LISTEN HERE In part two of our interview, available only to Grave Keepers, we discuss: Did the house still have the same feeling that it did when Andrea returned to the Conjuring home after 2014? What happened to Andrea's sister Cindy when they returned to the house? Why does have Andrea have positive feelings about the house while other family members do not? How does Andrea think the global pandemic has affected the world of spirits and the supernatural? What is Andrea's take on the mass number of UFOs that people see around the world currently in history? What memory did an encounter with the supernatural bring back to Andrea's mind late one night, outside under the stars? As a Grave Keeper, for $5 per month you will get: Access to every episode of our show, AD-FREE – MONTHS BEFORE THEY GO PUBLIC. Access to every EXCLUSIVE PART 2 episode of our show for Grave Keeper Only! Access to submit questions to upcoming guests of our show. Here we are, at part six of our deep dive into Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy. We're over halfway done! I know it's been a weird ride, but hold on, because we haven't gotten to the strangest stuff yet. At this point in our exploration, we have developed a strong idea of Agrippa's world and some of the basic premises of Occult Philosophy. We have looked at history, the nature of light and the cosmos, and the mathematical underpinnings of Renaissance magic. Now it is time to finally explore one of the strangest and most exciting elements in Occult Philosophy: spirits! Discussion of spirits occurs throughout this enormous work, but if you want some reading to get into before listening to this episode, first re-read book 2, chapter 22, and then read book 2, chapters 55 through 57. Daemons, daimones, angels, demons, and intelligences—these are all words that describe spirits. Sometimes they are various categories of spirits, other times they are words for "spirit" in another language. From time to time, even the gods are referred to as spirits. In this episode, we explore why that is, and maybe we even look at some ideas surrounding how you can communicate with them. I warned you that we hadn't gotten to the strangest stuff yet! Sketching out the long fear of demons in western history, including the Bible, Steve A. Wiggins moves on to analyze how popular movies inform our beliefs about demonic forces. Beginning with the idea of possession, he explores the portrayal of demons from ancient Mesopotamia and the biblical world (including in select extra-biblical texts), and then examines the portrayal of demons in popular horror franchises The Conjuring, The Amityville Horror, and Paranormal Activity. In the final chapter, Wiggins looks at movies that followed The Exorcist and offers new perspectives for viewing possession and exorcism. Johnson has been investigating reports of strange phenomena for the past 47 years, beginning with his association with noted ghost-hunting couple Ed and Lorraine Warren. As members of a team based at Rhode Island College, Carl and his twin brother Keith were called in to investigate the Perron family's farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island during August and September of 1973 and they alerted the Warrens to the Perron's situation. Forty years later, this inspired a motion picture titled, "The Conjuring". Both Carl and Keith were featured in the first and second seasons of the SyFy Channel series, Ghost Hunters. Carl has numerous other television credits including the shows Paranormal State,  Finding Bigfoot, Most Terrifying Places In America, A Haunting, Ghost Adventures  and Mysteries: Decoded. He is the co-author, along with Lana J. It's weird science. Sasha Banks joins Lauren and Jared on the pod this week to talk about a late 90's gem, Mimic. There was a lot of drama behind the scenes of del Toro's commissioned film. Even though he was Bill Gunn-ed in the end, there is still a lot to look at in Mimic. We discuss classicism, access, and how we determine value in this week's crit. I've always been fascinated by tales of demonic possession. I fully realize that is an odd thing to admit, but it's true. I've seen The Exorcist more times than I can count and include similar movies such as The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Rite, and anything from the Conjuring series as classics. Maybe it's my Catholic upbringing, but if we believe that goodness exists and came to Earth in the form of a God, then the opposite must be true, right? If God and the Angels can do it, why not the devil and his demons? When I was given the opportunity to interview Lynn Hightower about her latest book, The Enlightenment Project, in which an exorcism features prominently, I simply couldn't pass it up.   MEET LYNN HIGHTOWER Lynn Hightower the author of numerous thrillers, including the Sonora Blair and Lena Padget detective series. Her internationally-bestselling novels have been included in the New York Times List of Notable Books, the London Times bestseller lists, the WH Smith Fresh Talent Awards, and the Shamus award. Lynn teaches Master Novel classes in the UCLA Extension Writing Program and works as a Manuscript Consultant/Writing Coach for novelists. Her latest book, The Enlightenment Project, is available now wherever books are sold. KEY TOPICS IN THIS EPISODE: How her love of writing in grammar school got her into trouble in History, Math and geography class. Her fascination with haunted places and how she lived in one while writing a book. The interesting premise behind her latest book, The Enlightenment Project. Why cases of Exorcism are on the rise in Italy. How her creativity and investigative research fuel her successful career. KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM MY TALK WITH LYNN Put yourself in the reader's seat. Tell a story you want to read, but that hasn't been written yet. Give yourself permission. Allow yourself to follow your dream, if your dream is writing a book. Boundaries matters. The business side of the publishing world is juxtaposition to the creativity that fuels writing. Create a boundary between the two to keep your sanity! Follow your instinct. As an author, the best decisions are sometimes made through gut instinct. Love wins. The only thing that matters in life is who you love, so love well.  WHERE TO BUY THE ENLIGHTENMENT PROJECT: Amazon  Bookshop.org HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH LYNN HIGHTOWER Website: https://www.lynnhightower.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lynnhightowerauthor/ Twitter:      https://mobile.twitter.com/lynnshightower MEMORABLE QUOTES FROM LYNN “I have a lot of advice for aspiring authors. Tell the story you wish someone would tell you, the kind of story you would just love to curl up with and read. Readers will forgive you anything if you deliver on once upon a time. I really believe that. Second, give yourself permission to be a novelist. This is the work of your heart. It's what you really want to do, and it's not for the cool kids or for the special people. If you have a story to tell, go ahead and tell it and get it down as best you can. After that, it's a brutal business. Not every novel that should be published is published. So, the only way to keep yourself sane, is to do everything you can, but just accept that your story is going to find its place in the universe, and send it out there and hope that it finds its way into the hands of somebody who would like to read it. That's how I survive.” If you liked this conversation, please tell a friend about it as well as like, rate, and review Uncorking a Story wherever you get your podcasts.

Remember The Alamo (...sorry; we had to) -- 2004's "featureless sphere of re-consideration" of one of the country's most notorious battles starring Dennis Quaid as Sam Houston? If you do, our condolences, although despite a bloated runtime, racist music cues, a script that makes the dad from The Conjuring recycle cannonballs, and a misapprehension of what's actually still interesting about this chapter of history, we didn't end up with a super-low overall rating. DQ, however, doesn't seem to know how to play this particular C-plus person, and his reverting to Sling Blade voice in scenes with Billy Bob Thornton is a choice that doesn't work out for him. The first is a shorter  tale that Dan promised to share here after a recent episode of the Timesuck Podcast when he talked about the 1980 New Mexico Prison Riot.  The now closed prison has been supposedly haunted ever since that riot, and today we explore those claims. His  big second story is the tale of Maurice Theriault. A name that probably rings familiar to a lot of horror film fans. Infamous demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren of the Conjuring universe were part of an exorcism on Maurice in May of 1985. Lynze has her usual two stories but this week, it's a little bit different. She shares encounters from the same fan who has two unrelated experiences about 10 or so years apart. Both stories are scary and interesting in their own ways!BAD MAGIC SUMMER CAMP TICKETS GO ON SALE MARCH 15TH, 2022 AT 12:00 PT!!!!! Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened.  Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH."

Heldur verið gleymt og grafið í meira en 30 ár.  En í þessum þætti gröfum við upp gamlar lögregluskýrslur, dustum rykið af bókum og fléttum í gegnum tugi blaðagreina.
