If you don't believe in ghosts, you will be the end of this episode. In the summer of 1989, Jackie Hernandez started to experience bizarre paranormal activity in her home - unsettling noises from the attic, ghostly figures watching her sleep and even blood oozing from the walls. She eventually recruited a documentary crew to help her investigate the home, but they didn't realise that by entering this house, their very lives would be at risk… Support us on Patreon.com/ThisParanormalLife to get access to weekly bonus episodes! John Torrio was 31 years old when he first came to Chicago to free his uncle by marriage – Big Jim Colosimo – from threats by Black Hand gangsters. But Torrio's service went beyond that. He was soon reorganizing and expanding Big Jim's vice rackets and while they continued to thrive for a short time, trouble was on the way.On the other side of the city's powerful people, William Thompson ran for mayor with the wide-openness of a champion athlete on the side of truth, justice, and the American way. He actually vowed in this first campaign that "I am going to clean up Chicago," but by this third campaign, his picture was hanging in Al Capone's office, and the gangster was donating as much as $250,000 for Thompson's re-election...Check out our new American Hauntings Podcast Network for even more spooky shows.Have a question or comment? While some interpret this sensation through speculative micro and macro ideas—such as quantum timeline fractures or distorted cultural echoes like the Mandela Effect—the more immediate explanation may be psychological rather than cosmological.A profound civilizational shift is underway, marked by the mass migration or shoehorning of daily life into virtual space. As sustained reading declines, screen time expands to most waking hours, and story immersion gives way to endless scrolling, the texture of lived experience is being fundamentally altered.
George Noory and author Rissa Miller explore her research into spirits and hauntings, why the sites of tragedies are more haunted, and why some people and animals can see ghosts while others can't.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
JV Noseworthy, known as Jen, is a retired Registered Nurse and paranormal investigator from Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada, and the host and founder of the Paranormal Newfound Land (PNL) Podcast. Launched in 2023, PNL has grown into a widely followed paranormal platform, entering its fourth season in 2026 with more than 250 radio and YouTube episodes exploring hauntings, supernatural encounters, and regional folklore. Jen also created the Global PNL Podcast Alumni Network and leads the BOG Team (Boots on Ground), a Newfoundland-based investigative group dedicated to historical paranormal research throughout the province. The podcast joined the United Public Radio Network (UPRN) during its second season, expanding its reach to a global audience.A dual Canadian-American citizen, Jen draws from over 30 years of experience as an operating room travel nurse working across the United States and Canada, where she encountered numerous unexplained and supernatural events in hospitals, historic locations, and private residences. Now living in a rural community on the Avalon Peninsula along Newfoundland's rugged North Atlantic coast, she investigates one of North America's most historically rich and haunted regions — home to Viking history at L'Anse aux Meadows, the haunted streets of St. John's, and the legendary Bell Island. Inspired by the island's deep history, maritime tragedies, and enduring paranormal lore, Jen continues to document firsthand experiences and lead investigations that explore the mysteries of Newfoundland's haunted past.Spaced Out Radio is your nightly source for alternative information, starting at 9pm Pacific, 12am Eastern. First, we chat about Havana Syndrome and a rumored "discombobulator," Trump releasing the UFO files, a new poll on belief in aliens and cryptids, and RFK doing a 180 on glyphosate. Then we meet up with Kenny Biddle, chief investigator for the Center for Skeptical Inquiry, to talk about haunted houses. Not just the stories and the (lack of) evidence, but rather what happens after the hooplah dies down. We look at the Conjuring House, Amityville, the Sallie House, and the "House of 200 Demons," finding out what went on after interest faded with these properties. We go into some laws on the books about alleged haunted houses that allowed buyers to back out of deals, what happens when new property owners are hit with unwanted tourists, and even how a community of paranormal enthusiasts is trying to save a beloved historical haunt. Kenny has been to most of these locations personally, so he fills us in on the atmosphere as well as the drama!
(Season 3, Episode 374) Amanda Jones, Mason Dixon and Rob talk about War, The Olympics, The Blueberry Chicks, County Road 689 and The Haunting of the TV Studio. It's all here, right now, on the Moondog Show.

Between 1081 and 1903, roughly 20 Japanese Buddhist monks voluntarily endured a grueling three-year process of starvation and isolation — sealing themselves alive inside stone tombs in pursuit of becoming Buddha in their own bodies.*No AI Voices Are Used In The Narration Of This Podcast*Take the Weird Darkness Survey: https://take.supersurvey.com/QGZCRXPVSIN THIS EPISODE: One of the greatest monsters ever to be brought to the screen was The Mummy, portrayed by Boris Karloff. We have, of course, seen numerous recreations of the creature since the original Universal film, but still, the image is grotesque and frightening no matter the incarnation. To see a mummy in real-life is that much more shocking. But real fear… real terror… would be if you yourself were to be mummified… while still alive. (To Be Mummified Alive) *** In the days that followed the rescue of 11-year-old Terry Jo Duperrault from the wreckage of the yacht called the Bluebelle, it would became clear that a storm hadn't destroyed the ship, as the previously-rescued captain, Julian A. Harvey, had said earlier. A storm hadn't killed everyone aboard… Harvey himself had. (The Final Voyage of the Bluebelle) *** When a loved one passes away, we sometimes wish we could speak to them one last time. Some people report they received phone calls or voicemails they believe are from their deceased loved ones. Sometimes they come through as eerie otherworldly static, while other times the ghostly caller is able to communicate one last message. We'll share a few true stories from people who have received phone calls from the beyond. (Phone Calls From Beyond The Grave) *** If you buy a furnished home and move the furniture to clean the floor – and the furniture moves back on its own – you can be pretty sure you've just moved into a haunted house. That's exactly what one family in Rockford, Illinois found out. (A Haunting on School Street) *** And I'll end the episode with the story that I began it with – a short story by Louisa May Alcott called “Lost in a Pyramid”… or “The Mummy's Curse”. A story that went pretty much unnoticed when it was originally published in 1869, but has had somewhat become undead since 1998 when it was rediscovered and is now considered an influential example of early “mummy's curse” narratives.CHAPTERS & TIME STAMPS (All Times Approximate)…00:00:00.000 = Short Message00:00:20.684 = The Foreboding00:01:41.062 = Show Open00:04:41.066 = The Final Voyage of the Bluebelle00:18:32.491 = Phone Calls From Beyond the Grave ***00:36:53.017 = A Haunting On School Street ***00:43:39.779 = To Be Mummified Alive00:50:44.908 = The Mummy's Curse (Lost in a Pyramid) – fictional story ***01:16:00.096 = Show Close*** = Begins immediately after inserted ad breakHELPFUL LINKS & RESOURCES…https://WeirdDarkness.com/STORE = Tees, Mugs, Socks, Hoodies, Totes, Hats, Kidswear & Morehttps://WeirdDarkness.com/HOPE = Hope For Depression or Thoughts of Self-Harmhttps://WeirdDarkness.com/NEWSLETTER = In-Depth Articles, Memes, Weird DarkNEWS, Videos & Morehttps://WeirdDarkness.com/AUDIOBOOKS = FREE Audiobooks Narrated By Darren Marlar SOURCES and RESOURCES:“The Final Voyage of the Bluebelle” by Lucia for The Ghost In My Machine: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/23utyhja“Phone Calls From Beyond the Grave” by Amanda Ashley for Graveyard Shift: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/7bw36uh4“A Haunting on School Street” by Kathi Kresol for Haunted Rockford: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/s3c76yeb“To Be Mummified Alive' by Bipin Dimri for Historic Mysteries: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/j89cukfe“The Mummy's Curse/Lost In a Pyramid” by Louisa May Alcott: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/pwd9h3cb=====(Over time links may become invalid, disappear, or have different content. On Easter Sunday, April 13, 1895, parishioners at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in San Francisco were shocked when a closet was opened that contained the mutilated body of a young woman. Police detectives who were summoned to the church expected the corpse to belong to a 20-year-old woman named Blanche Lamont, a member of the church's congregation who had gone missing 10 days earlier. But it wasn't her. Instead, the dead woman was 21-year-old Minnie Williams, who was also a member of the church. And that wasn't all the two young women had in common. Both had last been seen with the church's handsome and well-liked Sunday School Superintendent, a man named Theo Durrant – who soon earned a nickname from the press. They called him “The Demon in the Belfry,” because it was almost impossible for anyone to believe that the brutal murders could be the work of an ordinary man.He had to be one of the Devil's minions, escaped from the fiery pits of Hell. In 1960s Scotland, eleven-year-old Virginia Campbell became the focus of one of the country's most documented poltergeist cases as knocking walls, shifting furniture, and levitating desks left clergy, doctors, and teachers searching for answers. Decades later, her story still lingers in the dark, daring us to decide what was truly happening inside that small house in Sauchie, Scotland. _____________________________ Please be sure to like us on social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/shadowcarriers Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shadowcarriers If you like what you hear and want to buy your storytellers a drink, you can catch us at @shadowcarriers on Venmo. Erik is a founder, producer, and host of ParaTruth: Reborn. With 16 years of experience within the podcast industry, he has committed himself to bringing the very best to listeners around the world. He started his podcast journey hosting and producing Nightstalkers Radio on BlogTalkRadio, which was later picked up by the Para-X Radio Network. After some careful considerations and the decision to part ways with Justin, Nightstalkers was terminated to make room for a reformed version of the show at which point Forgotten Truth was created. The show was designed to break the veil between a Christian perspective of the paranormal and the practitioners of other religions, occults, and secular thinking. An experiment to see whether the "religious", occultist and the scientist can have a fair, productive conversation about the paranormal without tearing each other down. The show had great success in bringing people together from various walks of life, proving that respecting each other's beliefs can open a door to great conversation and better an understanding of individuals. Forgotten Truth aired for one year, after which it too was terminated in order to allow Erik to pursue a dream in filmmaking. Yet, however far Erik tried to push himself away from podcasting and the paranormal, it was never far behind him. In 2014, Erik and Justin reunited to bring the very best of their experiences back to paranormal podcasting and so ParaTruth Radio (now ParaTruth: Reborn) was born. When not on-air, Erik is often found writing screenplays; working in the film and television industry on productions for HBO, Netflix and Disney; and working on digital content for PTR. He brings a Christian perspective to the show along with his knowledge in Christian studies, demonology, and the occult.
The Smurl family never expected their home to become the center of a national paranormal mystery. Over the course of more than a decade, they claimed their quiet duplex in West Pittston, Pennsylvania, became the stage for unexplained noises, violent incidents, and a growing sense that something unseen was watching them. As their story spread, it drew in priests, skeptics, and the famous demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren, turning a private nightmare into a public spectacle. What followed would leave behind one of the most controversial haunting cases ever recorded, still argued about decades later. Our other podcast: "FEARFUL" - https://open.spotify.com/show/56ajNkLiPoIat1V2KI9n5c?si=OyM38rdsSSyyzKAFUJpSywMERCH:https://www.redbubble.com/people/wickedandgrim/shop?asc=uPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/wickedandgrim?fan_landing=trueYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@wickedlifeFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/wickedandgrim/ Instagram:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wickedandgrim/?hl=enTwitter: https://twitter.com/wickedandgrimWebsite: https://www.wickedandgrim.com/

This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! PART TWODeep in the Northwoods of Wisconsin stands a mansion whose reputation is as chilling as the winds that sweep across its decaying foundations. Summerwind Mansion, built in the early 20th century, has become one of the most infamous paranormal locations in the Midwest — a place where hauntings, tragedy, and madness seem woven into the very walls. For more than a century, families who attempted to live within its halls reported overwhelming dread, unexplainable activity, and encounters that pushed some to the brink of sanity. From apparitions and disembodied voices to aggressive energies that seemed determined to drive residents out, Summerwind earned a reputation for being a house few could endure for long. But why does this mansion wield such power over those who step inside? What forces linger there, and why do they remain so active after decades of abandonment? We explore the unsettling history behind Summerwind Mansion, the stories of those who fled in fear, and the legends that continue to surround its crumbling structure. .#summerwindmansion #wisconsinhaunted #thegravetalks #hauntedhistory #realghoststories #paranormalinvestigation #hauntings #terrifyingplaces #supernaturalencounters #hauntedmansion #midwesthaunted #trueparanormalLove real ghost stories? This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! PART TWOFrom the moment his dad moved in, the house carried an uneasy energy, amplified by an unsettling warning from a local who was written off as “crazy” by the town. But it didn't take long for Wes's family to realize the man wasn't crazy at all — he was the only one telling the truth. What began as strange activity escalated into something far darker: physical disturbances, emotional strain, and encounters that pushed the family to their breaking point. In desperation, they turned to prayer, faith, and the support of those who believed in the power of spiritual protection. But the question remained — could prayer silence the shadows, or would the darkness push back harder? In this episode of The Grave Talks, we explore Wes's family's harrowing experience inside a home where fear and faith collided. Their story is a reminder that sometimes, the past refuses to rest… and the spirits inside a house may have no intention of sharing it.#hauntedhouse #arkansashaunting #thegravetalks #realghoststories #supernaturalencounter #violenthaunting #paranormalpodcast #faithandfear #darkentities #familyhaunting #hauntedinarkansas #paranormalLove real ghost stories? This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE!Octagon Hall Museum in Franklin stands as one of the most distinctive historic homes in the South. Built between 1847 and 1859 by Andrew Jackson Caldwell, its striking octagonal design is matched by a history shaped by war, division, and loss.During the Civil War, both Union and Confederate forces occupied the property, leaving behind stories that still echo through its halls. Reports of unexplained footsteps, shadow figures, voices, and direct encounters have been tied to members of the Caldwell family, enslaved individuals who once lived and worked on the land, and soldiers who passed through during one of America's most turbulent eras.Museum Director Bear Gaunt discusses the documented history of the property, the paranormal activity reported by staff and investigators, and how the museum balances preservation with its reputation as one of the most haunted buildings in Kentucky. When Emily was ten, something began dancing beside her.The hardwood floors answered her steps. The CD display flickered only for certain songs. At night, small objects shifted gently in the kitchen as if someone unseen moved through the house in rhythm with her. She assumed it was a little girl. Years later, she learned it wasn't.One night, she saw a young woman stretched across the family sofa in bright orange tights — calm, composed, watching. The illusion of something childlike disappeared instantly. And years after that, in a different home, the presence returned with urgency. A cushion trembled at the edge of her bed as a voice whispered the same words over and over: “Get out.”At the time, it felt frightening. Later, she realized it may have been the only warning she ever received.#TrueGhostStories #HauntedByMusic #TheDancerSpirit #ParanormalExperience #UnseenPresence #Paranormal #RealGhostStory #ProtectiveSpirit #Hauntings #WhispersInTheDarkLove real ghost stories? James “Big Jim” Colosimo ruled the Chicago underworld longer than any man in the city's history. The money he raked in from the many enterprises that he controlled was conservatively estimated at $50,000 a month for about eight years. Colosimo was a strange character and a man who helped usher in Chicago's organized crime era – although he'd never actually live to see it. Get ad-free episodes, early release, and bonus shows If there was one writer who could be said to have had their finger on the pulse of paranormal activity in New Mexico, it was the late Antonio Garcez, author of the "Adobe Angels" series and many others. In this episode, we share stories from his book, "Adobe Angels: The Haunting of O'Keefe Country", in which Antonio recounted first-person stories from around Santa Fe, Taos, and the Abiqui region. We also commit light sacrilege, Paul psychically battles a dog, and Brennan reflects on the very recent loss of a dear friend using, what else, bathroom humour. Many of Antonio's books are still available through Red Rabbit Press, an independent publishing company started by Antonio and his husband Hank Estrada in 1986. Though Antonio passed in 2023, Hank has carried his legacy forward in both the publishing realm and via public speaking, information about all of which can be found at https://www.ghostbooks.biz/ For full shownotes, head to GhostStoryGuys.com Learn more about your ad choices. In 1908, a Pentecostal minister announced to his followers that the Devil was alive and well and interfered with every aspect of human life. And he wasn't alone in this belief. Others described demons as swarming around the human soul and living off them “like ticks on cattle.” The Pentecostal belief about the Devil interfering with our everyday lives was just one example of how the twentieth century became the “Satanic Century” for both American religion and popular culture. More than at any other time since the seventeenth century, American religion became obsessed with the Devil and all his works. The was largely due to the rise of two powerful religious movements at the time – Pentecostalism and Fundamentalism. Each gave the Devil a special role in both their view of the world and their personal spiritual experience. But they were not the only ones – Roman Catholicism remained convinced of how the Devil's influence continued to represent a threat to the lives and souls of its followers. In fact, it was during this same time that the Catholic Church revealed the horrors of a demonic possession that would shock the nation. The exorcism that followed would become known as one of the first to make national news in modern American history. Our Sponsors:* Check out BetterHelp: https://www.betterhelp.com* Check out Shopify: https://shopify.com/hauntings* Check out TruDiagnostic and use my code HAUNTINGS for a great deal: https://www.trudiagnostic.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/american-hauntings-podcast/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
