We are more than grateful to have the author of "The World's Easiest Book On Becoming Antiracist," Dr. DuBois Teddy McMillan to discuss his experiences and inspirations behind writing his book. Many of us understand the traits that we have inherited from our parents, but some of us also see traits or patterns with our parents and the generations before them that we cannot continue. As I (Tiffany) sit with Casey, we discuss growing up in traditions that we noticed and eventually had to stand up against. We talk about the ideas behind what we were told and how difficult it was when we finally broke away to rid ourselves of maybe what others wanted for us in order to become more in tune with what we want for ourselves. In the midst of healing, I (Tiffany) am finding that I continue to try and figure out how to navigate my life and my mind with every day that I am given. There may not be a clear path but I am sure of myself with every step I take. Still, there are struggles I face, but healing has given me the tools I need to navigate through it all. I love you, and yes, you are where you need to be.

Known mainly as psychological abuse, emotional abuse is a form of abuse where emotions of the victim are manipulated and the outcome results in the victim feeling a loss in the sense of their self conception and/or independence. As Tyler and I (Tiffany) discuss our own personal experience in being in an emotionally abusive relationship, we shed light on our journey after getting out of it. Episode two is all about the root of our motivation and some of the things that tend to get in the way.
