Two bilingual Latinas who just wanna talk about this racist fatphobic slut-shaming franchise known as the Bachelor, because it brings us joy. We are a spoiler-inclusive podcast, but spoilers will be included at the end. Spanglish HEAVY content.
Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodriguez & Cynthia Huerta
WE ARE A SPOILED PODCAST, AND TALK FINALE OPENLY! This week we discuss the weird Thomas drama, and Cynthia picked up on some clues that hint at something more egregious that we did not see. We also discuss the fact that we are officially an Andrew-stan podcast. We talked more Katie's fashion, Prisca tried to give Katie some grace but then backpedals much to Cynthia's amusement. We talk Blake, our “I read an Alzheimer's book for her,” “good guy.” Hope you all enjoy, and take Cynthia's poll about Katie's group date cocktail dress.
We took a week off, but this episode we discuss some of episode 2 but jump straight into episode 3. We discuss toxic masculinity, how this franchise is option to have some social justice centered language with zero analysis. We discuss the villainizatioin of the BIMOC vs the uplifting edits that the white men are getting. We also discuss Michael in-depth and Connor's fashion choices. We are def coming around to Katie, as a whole, but remain critical of this franchise and the ways that BIPOC are edited poorly and with zero awareness of critical race theory and intersectionality. Hope you enjoy!
We are back! After many conversations, we decided, last minute to come back. We are also very clear about our boundaries in relationship to this awful toxic ass bachelor nation family. But we excitedly discuss night one of our new bachelorette's season. We talked artist fuckboys, wannabe pi guy, and our general thoughts on cat guy. We tried to remember all the names, which is hard considering how little we got from so many. We also discussed virginity, the merits (or lack thereof) of a sexual puns, and that awkward kiss. Enjoy and rate and review us :)
This episode we discuss Matt, John, and Pattie and breakdown the girls meeting mom and brother. We talk specifically about why Matt doesn't share his romantic life, we attempt to find answers to questions we can't get answers for and we discuss our own experiences with our parents. We have our mom Tia moments while talking about love. We named a major feminist fail. We make the argument that Matt was never vulnerable. Finally we dissect the ATFR. We loved Emmanuel Acho but also hated that certain terms were defined incorrectly. We talk about race and racism. Racism is not about intent, it is about power. So Rachael is racist because she is a white woman in a society that overvalues whiteness, unless she is actively anti racist. Racism isn't an event, it just is. Prisca reads directly from “White Fragility” by Dr. Robin DiAngelo, since Bachelor Nation was all posting pics of this particular book during summer 2020. Accountability means, if you said you read a book on race and racism, and then turn around and wrongly define racism that proves you have not IN FACT read said book. Hope you all enjoy our final episode, and we will see you for the Bachelorette seasons.
This episode we go from being annoyed with Rachael's crying, to crying ourselves because that is life and that is us! We discussed lighting on Black skin, we heavily discuss the dialogue between Matt and his father. We share our thorns with this airing, but also share our own experiences with our fathers. We died at the sweat towel, and this is a very insider conversation meaning that if you get-it, you get-it. We also discuss Michelle's Pennsylvania Dutch Spa date that now we both want to try, we discuss Bri's camping date, and Rachael's meltdown. Finally we air out our misgivings with Matt having taken Bri to the fantasy suites. Overall, we are sad this season is ending but happy for the break it will provide for both of us. Hope y'all enjoy!
This episode we discuss the women tell all! This is our first women tell all, together and we had a blast. We discussed the Taylor Nolan drama, and our take on it. Prisca had very strong opinions about this entire scandal and honestly we would be so happy to not have to dissect the ways that [White] Bachelor Nation discards and discredits Black women when given the opportunity. It is heartbreaking and we are not mincing our words in regard to this entire scandal. We also discuss the DRAMA in this episode, including those in the hot-seat like Brittany, Katie, Pieper, Abigail, and Serena P. We discuss dresses, and we also discuss Victoria's lack of growth. We cemented our stan-dom towards our favorites, and missed Magi in this episode. WE NEED ANSWERS! Overall, great episode in terms of us coming to terms with how we take up space in this very white franchise.
We are on our final four! This episode we break down each girl and their families. We start with Michelle, and we discuss her classroom and her parents. We then move to Rachael, and admittedly our daddy issues surface. We also discuss what it means if Rachael's dad is in fact a person of color. Cynthia also enlightens us all on what a skydiving date would be like with a plus-sized person. This franchise does not have people of different sizes, so we have to speculate with it would look like to cast a move diverse cast in terms of body diversity. We also discuss Bri and her mom and bestie. Prisca expressed that this showed Bri's personality more! We breakdown Serena's date, and the poutine and hockey. We are happy to see her go, because her emotional maturity was unmatched, but sad she won't be gracing our screens any longer. Hope y'all enjoy.
This episode we discuss Dale and Clare, and their charts. We also discuss our new bachelorette predictions. Also remember we are a spoiler friendly podcast and you will hear casual mentions of the ring winner. We talk Abigail and Jessenia exits separately and mourn them in our own ways. We continue to push back on labeling the women mean girls and further discuss this “bullying” narrative the media and other podcasts have picked up. Finally we discuss the missing group dates! This was a fun one, hope y'all enjoy
In this episode we talk Katie, a lot. We are aware that our opinion is not the popular opinion, but we just can't get on that Katie train. We also discuss why we cannot get on the Katie-train and it has everything to do with how white women are handled in this show, in general. We discuss Meredith's exit. We also mourn the loss of Magi :( We also discuss dresses, and die laughing at the ridiculousness of this season and all its surprises.
In this episode we discuss the body shaming video that involved Matt James. Fatphobia is never acceptable and taking about women like they're cattle is actually disgusting. We express our conflicting thoughts on Katie; sometimes we need to investigate when someone starts to feel like a cop. This is officially now a Jessina stan podcast. We reveal our thoughts on MJ and reveal some spoiler at the end.
In this episode we discuss Chelse's groundbreaking moment (for the Bachelor/ette franchise). We also discuss the escort/sex worker dialogue that could have been but was not. We talk Michelle, and some spoilers at minute 35-37! We felt like a lot happened, and had conflicting feelings about Katie, but felt generally underwhelmed with all the noise and sprinkles of substance.
This week we have our first guest, Arely Silva! We start off the bat talking about the Dale and Clare breakup. We also discuss the Sarah and Reality Steve chisme because it does paint this entire episode a bit differently. We laugh about Chris Harrison erotica book, and also compare Katie's edit with Tammy from Peter's season. Hope we provide some things to think about, and remember to rate and review us!
This week we discuss dresses, the ATV date of Prisca's nightmares, and the Victoria drama. We talk online sleuthing, and what we have discovered about a contestant. Tune in to hear Cynthia and Prisca giggle their way through this episode.
On this episode, you meet Cynthia Huerta and Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodriguez the new co-hosts of Bachelor Chisme. We discuss the dildo, the prayer, the Latinas, and the drama. This podcast is exclusively in Spanglish, so prepare for some laughs. Hope you enjoy! **Spoilers at the end!**
