MJ's guest is Founder of Booker Vineyards, one of Paso Robles Legendary Artisanal Cult Wineries, Eric Jensen. Eric and his wife Lisa Jensen purchased 100 acres of property in Paso Robles, CA in 2001 with the intent of growing the best fruit for some of the best wineries in the area. After making wine with Justin Smith (of Saxum) for five years and Stephan Asseo (of L'Aventure Wines) for two years, the Jensens decided it was time to create their own expression with Booker Vineyard. The 2005 Vintage was Booker Vineyard's first release with the wines being made by Eric himself. The vineyard received organic certification in April of 2021. In this episode, Eric is fresh in the studio after a big night of celebrating in NYC - and he and MJ quickly jump into discussing the bottles. This conversation is unscripted and full of heart. The opinions about wine and winemaking are candid and real. From Eric's humble beginnings in San Dimas, CA to his early days of cold calling to his absolute love of Paso Robles and its winemakers - make sure your ear pods are charged, you don't want to miss a minute of this one! Kris is joined by TK, host of There Was an Idea… a Marvel Cinematic Universe Podcast, to discuss Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. They discuss how much nostalgia factors into peoples' love for a movie that doesn't really hold up. Kris and TK also cover the glaring problems with the film's script, and particularly MJ's character in regards to women's representation as a whole. But they do praise the performances of Willem Dafoe & JK Simmons, who are simply too good for this movie. Spider-Man falls outside of the MCU proper. It stars Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Willem Dafoe, JK Simmons, Cliff Robertson, and Rosemary Harris. In this Q&A episode, you'll hear Eric, Barb, Brendan, Will, MJ, Moira, and Roxie answer your ADHD-related questions! The questions you'll here answered in this episode: (The following questions asked in the episode have been paraphrased below.) I can't be medicated, even for ADHD. I will have exciting things I'm involved in, then I have an episode that makes me feel rejected and I fall into a rumination dive and it takes me a while to get back up. I'm trying to find a way to catch myself sooner, get out of it sooner, so I can continue on the path towards my goal and keep my momentum going. I have started on meds and am having trouble unwinding and slowing my brain down at the end of the day. I wanted to know what your tips are for some of that. How do Time-Timers work? Bonus: Panelists also share some of the other time-tracking tools they use! I'm looking for tips on how to help my partner understand what ADHD is and what it isn't. My partner is neurotypical. My partner seems to not believe ADHD is a real thing, or that it's a crutch to misplace things. How can I get him to understand? I was just diagnosed about two months ago. I'm navigating this new identity and trying to find my community. I'm trying to figure out how to navigate who to tell and how to know who to tell. I've had some conversations go surprisingly well and others not go so well. How do you handle being true to yourself while also protecting yourself? Are there any personal assistants that understand ADHD and could help keep me accountable? On this episode of the Find My Catalyst Podcast, Mike is joined by MJ Patent. MJ is the Co-Founder and CEO of Alveo and the Co-Chair of the Phoenix chapter of Pavilion. They talk about revenue, strategy, sales & marketing, collaboration and more. Key Takeaways: Strategy is a plan. A lot of companies miss out on working on the strategy because they want results today. Aim for more opportunities and a higher revenue per client than the number of clicks generated. If we can be more effective with our time, that effectiveness should yield or lead to better results and more compensation. Be opportunistic with intention. Take time to review and create feedback loops. Mistakes are going to happen - it is what you take away from that experience that matters. Drive a culture where it is ok to fail, it is ok to reflect and where you are constantly learning. Don't continue making a mistake just because you have spent a lot of time making it. Innovation and learning will happen with testing. Translate short-comings and failures into something good. Ex: I spent time learning a lot about_______. This mental shift is so important. Be intentional versus reactive. Data is fantastic, but it depends on where you are as an organization. Only capture the data you are going to do something with. Communication is key especially when you are putting together strategy. Work to make sure everyone is on the same page. At the end of the day, everyone wants to be successful. You can pick up a lot by having more collaborative team meetings where you solve for a problem together. Disclaimer: Yes, you are correct this is in fact a double-disc/triple LP album, but Russ has decided to focus on the latter half of this offering because let's be honest here, the first half absolutely serves a "greatest hits" package of sorts. So this review is specifically focusing on everything from "Scream" onward otherwise known as HIStory Continues. Now let's get to it!It's not every day that you can say your podcast has been fortunate enough to see a 5th season, and frankly, it's rather mind-boggling to us that we're still going strong, and we're grateful for every single one of you that continues to listen and join in. In this season 5 premiere, we continue with our album review series, and we put Russ up to bat (and bat he certainly did). It's truly hard to put into words what this album brings to the table, but we all certainly tried to convey this the best we could. What this album is, is the culmination of working in the limelight since you were in kindergarten, only to grow up and find out that you appreciate the world far more than they appreciate you. You've seen how cruel the world can be firsthand over the years, but you never imagined what being labeled as the worst thing in society could have brought you. Ridiculed and scrutinized into being a recluse, you take to what you know best and speak out to let the world know exactly how you feel. HIStory: Past, Present, and Future, Book I is the ninth studio album from the late, great, and immensely talented Michael Jackson. Released on June 20, 1995, after years of immense and tumultuous scrutiny by the tabloid media over accusations that would never end up being proven by anyone—in fact, it was quite the opposite. Throughout the record, you can, at various points, hear MJ directly address these issues, and confront those involved head-on. Despite his constant battles in and out of the courtroom, HIStory: Past, Present, and Future, Book I debuted at number 1, on the Billboard 200. Though the album received generally positive reviews, the lyrics of "They Don't Care About Us" drew accusations of antisemitism, to which Jackson responded that the lines had been misinterpreted and replaced them on later pressings. The album has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time, and the best-selling multi-disc album. In August 2018, it was certified 8x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).Michael Jackson would go on to release just one more studio album before his sudden and tragic death. It seemed to take forever to get here, but Spider-Man: No Way Home arrived right before Christmas, and it was one of the best presents any of us got this year! The Planet 8 crew loved this latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in this episode, we talk all about the movie and all the things we enjoyed. This is a spoiler-filled review, so if you haven't seen the movie yet, what are you waiting for? Go see it, and hurry on back to the podcast! From the many interesting villains of the film, with Willem Dafoe's Goblin and Alfred Molina's Dr. Octopus foremost, to the death of Aunt May, to the appearances of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as other versions of Peter/Spidey, this movie was just packed with amazing moments and surprises. We'll do some deep dives and discuss all of this and more.Of course, Dr. Strange is also in the film and we have to talk about his role in things and what his status is in the MCU -as well as Wong, the new Sorcerer Supreme! There're also all the implications of the multiverse rifts -where will this go in the future?Aunt May utters the famous line, "With great power must also come great responsibility," giving Peter his guiding light, right before she passes away. Losing her gives Peter the sense of loss the other two Spider-Men have that drove them and her last words give him that moral compass he needs so much.MJ and Ned provide Peter with support that no other Spider-Man has had. Moving forward, how will he cope without their help? And was it fair of him to not tell them who he was? At the end of the film, Peter/Spider-Man is reset to a place much more like the classic Spider-Man in the comics: poor, struggling, very much a street-level hero, not the galaxy-spanning hero we'd seen in Endgame. No more help from Tony Stark, from now on, he has to stand on his own two feet. No Way Home feels very much like an origin story. We're excited to see where Spidey goes next! This episode's Sensor Sweep, we want to chat a bit about our YouTube channel. Listeners we invite you to check out our podcasts on YouTube. Bob does a nice job of adding graphics to the audio. It's another way of catching the show. We also have a few special video episodes that are not part of the regular podcast, where we've discussed things like AIP films or bad Facebook purchases! A happy and healthy 2022 to all of you Fabulous Film Loving Friends out there! We're ringing in the New Year by pandering to the masses and discussing the latest and biggest Marvel blockbuster to date, 2021's Spider-Man No Way Home, directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland as everyone's favorite wisecracking wallcrawler. Joining me today are two of the stalwart members of Disney/Marvel's key demographic, my 11 year old nephew Raphael and my son Marco. And serving in the role of the exasperated, disheartened chaperone, my sister Roseanne Caputi. Before we dive in: the synopsis! The 8th solo live action Spider-Man movie but the third film in a recent trilogy which picks up exactly where the previous film, Spider Man Far From Home left off, Spider-Man No Way Home finds its teenaged hero Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, framed for the murder of his enemy Mysterio, while at the same time, having his secret identity as Spider-Man revealed to the entire world via a prerecorded and heavily edited video sent by Mysterio before his death. With much of the world believing Mysterio to be a hero, Peter is thrust into the position of having to clear his name legally and endure the hostility of John Q. Public. This, in turn, causes not only his college application to M.I.T. to be denied but also the applications of Pete's girlfriend M.J. and best friend Ned Leeds as well. Believing his life and that of those around him to be ruined, Peter solicits the help of Dr. Stephen Strange, a fellow superhero and sometime teammate on the super team known as the Avengers. Strange is the Master of The Mystic Arts and Pete asks him to create a spell that will make the entire world forget that he is Spider-Man. Dr. Strange agrees reluctantly, but the spell goes awry due to Peter's interference in its incantation and instead of making everyone forget Spider-Man's secret identity, the spell opens a portal to comic book gobbledygook known as the multiverse, where all the villains in the various dimensions (i.e. different movie series with Spider-Man) who know that Peter Parker is Spider-Man start to appear. This villainous roster includes Dr. Octopus, The Green Goblin and Sandman from the first Sam Raimi directed trilogy, and Electro and The Lizard from the second film series directed by Marc Webb. Dr. Strange has the ability to send the villains back to the universes in which they belong, but upon hearing that most of those villains will die battling Spider-Man, Peter disobeys and disables Strange and sets upon a mission to cure the villains of their evil ways. This plan, of course, backfires terribly and Pete is beset by unimaginable tragedy and a sense of utter hopelessness but Ned and MJ, in trying to locate Peter through a magic ring, call upon other figures from the multiverse who arrive to help Peter see the truth about the purpose of Spider-Man and to save the day. And that, my friends, is NOT a simple plot synopsis but I think it's as clear cut and fathomable as I can make it. What's it all mean? Is it any good? Find out! WARNING: this podcast reveals MASSIVE SPOILERS!!

Minute Sixty-Five: From Gaslight Success to Hammer Fail Joining us sadly for the last time to discuss Thor's apology to Loki due to Loki's gaslighting tactics and Loki's failed attempt at picking up Mjølnir are Kyle Olson and Rob Kubasko from Marvel Movie Minute seasons 2 & 3! In the sixty-fifth minute of Kenneth Branagh's 2011 film Thor... Loki's gaslighting has pushed Thor to a place where he is the one who apologizes to Loki. Wow, that's dark. What we read from Thor here is again how genuine he is. He's been so broken that this is the point where he can start rebuilding himself. Thor's “thank you for coming here” is really the turn for Thor. But again, it's also a sign he's been taken by Loki's gaslighting. Victims look at themselves as the problem. That tear on Thor's cheek leads us to a Waterworld reference. Loki's turn to leave and closeup shows us that he does not smirk. Is this because the door is mirrored and he doesn't want Thor to see him smirk? Or is it because he knows that there's a glimmer that Thor could still make his way back? To be honest, though, a smirk would've made the moment worse. Is it possible this moment is what plants the seeds for how Loki gets us to the Loki TV show? Would anyone have thought that Odin actually died and Loki is actually telling the truth here? The Odinsleep isn't that clear after all. How does Loki actually leave? Thor's goodbye feels like he's really saying goodbye to his life in Asgard. After Loki's gaslighting, Coulson finally returns. So did Loki actually control Coulson or is his return here coincidental? Again, what would Coulson see before coming in? And back to Loki's outfit, why is he wearing this? Meanwhile, Loki heads straight to Mjølnir. What have the SHIELD agents and scientists been doing since nabbing Thor? There clearly has been quite a bit of work in here since he was trying to pick up his hammer. Great hand shot of Loki's hand as he gets ready to try picking it up. Did we need Loki trying with two hands? Is Heimdall watching Loki? It's a week of Loki's gaslighting success, Coulson's return, and Loki's failed attempt at picking up Mjølnir, all while Rob and Kyle chat with us about it. Tune in! MJ's guest is JJ Reddick, the famous Duke University basketball player, where he still holds several records including “all time leading scorer.” JJ's professional basketball career began in 2006 when the Orlando Magic selected him with the 11th pick overall. Over the course of his 15 year NBA career he has played with Milwaukee Bucks, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Philadelphia 76ers, the New Orleans Pelicans, and finally the Dallas Mavericks. He is the creator and host of the podcast The Old Man and the Three. In 2020, he founded the podcasting company ThreeFourTwo Productions. He is an enthusiastic wine collector, JJ has assembled a cellar of diverse vinous selections, which he recently discussed in “All Starts Uncorked” a digital event sponsored by Acker Wines. JJ is a devout Christian, husband, and father, an ESPN sports corresponder and… a household name. On this week's episode, MJ and his guest discuss in detail JJ's legendary journey from an uneven backyard basketball court full of obstacles to numerous records at Duke University, his spectacular professional career, and of course, his love affair with wine. JJ reminisces on his earliest athletic experiences, balancing baseball and basketball before ultimately embarking on the path that would seal his place in basketball history. He reflects on his decision to complete his four years of college, where he was just hours before the draft, the contract celebration that sparked his curiosity about wine, what it was like to bond over a bottle during the NBA pandemic bubble, and what it means to be a compassionate human being.A huge thank you to JJ ReddickFollow him on IG at @jjreddickCheck out his podcast, The Old Man and the Three, on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and his website www.threefourtwo.comThis episode's in studio wine:2019 Joseph Drouhin Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru______________________________________________________________Until next time, cheers to the mavericks, philosophers, deep thinkers, and wine drinkers! Ryan to talks to the co-founder of Alveo, and who has spent the last decade building and scaling amazing marketing teams for several IT channel companies ranging from SMB service providers to Fortune 100 IT Distributors. MJ talks about her amazing journey, and how she consistently helps businesses to accelerate their revenue growth by addressing the core components of their go-to-market strategy. KEY TAKEAWAYS Creating solutions and accelerating growth first begins with adjusting our mind-set and preparing mentally. Growth and scale require different outlooks than operational routine. The opportunist phase is where the business owner is in the process of working out whether people will pay them for the product they are making or the service that they are providing. The next stage is refining process and making it repeatable. Those who do not see growth are the businesses that fail to recognise that product (services), marketing and sales are factors that need to grow together coherently. BEST MOMENTS 'There should be a lot of testing and understanding the feedback you're getting from the market' 'Scaling is usually where we see companies investing in infrastructure' 'It should be a combination of product, marketing and sales. Those three functions need to mature at the same rate' VALUABLE RESOURCES The Scale Up Show - https://omny.fm/shows/the-scale-up-show Apply for a Revenue Growth Consulting Session With Ryan Staley - https://www.scalerevenue.io/4-schedule-page1611678914248 MJ Patent LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mjpatent/ ABOUT THE SHOW How do you grow like a VC backed company without taking on investors? In Spider-Man: No Way Home, we spend time with some familiar characters. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker and Zendaya as MJ, and, this time, also brings in Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), plus an array of villains who'll already be familiar to fans of the franchise. But the film is more complicated than that, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe delves deeper into the mysteries of the Multiverse.
