Bean Street is a podcast collective that features several different podcast series. We are new podcasters who are really just having some fun.
In this poorly recorded mini episode of Reel Classy, me and my sister discuss some random stuff, some of which might be old black and white movies.
Sahale Jensen returns as promised to discuss Shop Around the Corner. And also lots of other stuff that has nothing to do with that movie.
On this episode I talk with film buff Ben Chase about the 1955 movie The Night of the Hunter. This film is a story of morality, religion and the perversion thereof. Good and evil competing over the lives of two small children during the depression. It is the only film directed by Charles Laughton, and the german expressionist influences give the film a dark and dreamy aesthetic that is hauntingly beautiful. Join ben and I as we discuss what we liked, what we didn't, and how this film holds up today.
