today's program, the penultimate episode of 2025, was meant to be a full review and unboxing of the latest reissue of NME's 1986 classic (?) ‘Unholy Death' - a 7 LP + blu ray + coffee table book collection. Sadly, I misplaced my half dozen or so box cutters (these are like socks for me except they're much sharper and cause more damage when you find them inside pockets) and I cannot get the fucking box open. As such, I am only able to speculate as to the quality of the unreleased demos, the quality of the blu-rays and the sheer lavishness of the coffee table book. But when you have imaginations like yours and mine (or at least mine), pricey material goods are no match for the power of the human brain. That being said, I could really use a 7th box cutter.

"The Final Scream," the third and final spec script written LA-Times best-selling writer, Joe Vallese, will be released on the SWRCS podcast on December 19, 2025, on the heels of the Scream (1996) anniversary and the holiday season.  This script follows "Scream 7" (the end of the Carpenter sister era, episode 112) and "Screams (a Gale-centric script, episode 155). "The Final Scream" completes this SWRCS trilogy by focusing on Sidney's family (two younger daughters, unlike Tatum in the upcoming Scream 7) and her marriage to Mark Kinciad (not Evans, like in the upcoming Scream 7).  The plot is: Sidney Prescott's sense of peace and security is unmoored by the revelation of a dark secret  - and a slew of new Ghostface murders hitting too close to home. We hope this script provides some closure to the Sidney/Mark Kincaid fans since Patrick Dempsey did not return for the feature film releasing in February. "The Final Scream" is emotional and contemplative, yet it's also epic and wide in scope. Gale Weathers also assumes an important role and the arc of the film ties into the fabric of the original trilogy. Like the past two scripts, "The Final Scream" will be read aloud by Ryan like an audio book and released as a podcast episode.
