So, every marketer and their dog is currently sharing their "Top Marketing Trends for 2026" lists. It goes a little something like – AI this, authenticity that, blah blah blah. And look, I'm not saying those things don't matter but here's what I think everyone's missing…None of that matters if you don't understand what's happening with your actual humans – your potential clients, your customers, the people you're trying to reach. You can have the slickest funnel, the best SEO, the perfect Reel strategy BUT if you're fundamentally misreading what people actually want right now, what they're willing to pay for, what makes them trust you or tune you out – you're toast. So in today's episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, I'm flipping the script. Forget the marketing trends for a second – let's talk about the consumer behaviour trends. What's actually shifting in how people make purchase decisions, what they value, what repels them, and what that means for those of us running service-based businesses.Consumer behaviour was always my favorite (and best) subject at uni so I went full nerd wizard for this one. Not to mention I'm chronically online observing what's happening in comment sections, what people are saying on TikTok, what's actually landing vs what's bombing. So I'm putting my sacred screen time to use and sharing the 3 big shifts that are going to determine whether your marketing actually works in 2026.Let's get into it.WORK WITH ME IN 2026If you're wondering how you apply these consumer behaviour trends to your business – well you better join Micro Messaging. Happy New Year, Filmlosophers! We are kicking off 2026 with high energy and even higher hijinks! Hosts Eddie and Spencer, joined by Intern Manager (and Managing Intern) Amy, are launching a brand-new mini-series to start the year: "Reel Rewinds!" To celebrate, the crew is traveling back 30 years to check into the majestic Majestic Hotel for a nostalgic look at the 1996 kids' classic, Dunston Checks In. The team dives deep into this chaotic gem starring Jason Alexander, Faye Dunaway, and a jewel-thieving orangutan. They discuss why this specific brand of animal-centric slapstick is a lost art, the surprising practical effects, and the hilarious (and slightly uncomfortable) reality that a movie about a primate terrorizing a luxury hotel would have a very tough time getting greenlit today. Does the movie still hold the key to our hearts, or should it have stayed in the lost-and-found? Grab your room service and join The Filmlosophers for a wild start to the new year!

Behind the Reel: A Conversation with Kyle Weingart & CastIn this episode of Should You Watch This with the Popcorn Priest, we continue our Behind the Reel series with a conversation about the making of ‘Cuisine de la 'Pocalypse'. Joined by director Kyle Weingart, actor Zuzu Weingart, and lead actor Kevin Jack, we talk about the origins of the story, collaboration on set, performance, tone, and the creative risks that come with independent filmmaking. This is not a traditional review — it's a behind-the-scenes look at how the film came together, what the cast and crew hoped to explore, and what they want audiences to take away after watching.
Be fake » (fais semblant devenait alors « Ke fa be » (Kayfabe). It is December 28th—that strange gap between Christmas and New Year. Let me ask you a question: How many times have you looked at your phone already today?.It is easy to open an app and see the "highlight reel" of everyone else's life—the matching pajamas, the immaculate tables, and those perfect smiles. This constant scrolling creates a trap of comparison, making you feel like your holiday wasn't enough or that you didn't do enough. This is "digital noise"—a low-level static buzzing in the back of your brain and stealing your joy.In today's session, Martin (Clinical Hypnotherapist) guides you through a powerful Digital Detox Visualization. We won't throw your phone in a river, but we will take your mind to a place where the signal cannot reach you.In this episode, you will:Unplug the Mental Router: Visualize placing your phone face down on a hallway table and pulling the plug on your Wi-Fi router to stop the frantic blinking lights.Escape to the Wild: Step out of your back door and into an ancient, deep forest where the trees reach up like pillars of a cathedral.Experience Biophilic Sound: Learn how natural sounds—like the rustle of wind and the snap of a twig—soothe the brain instantly.Watch the Signal Drop: Visualize the signal bars on your internal phone dropping from three, to two, to one, until you have "no service" and are completely free.Find What is Real: Realize that pixels on a screen are not real, but the breath in your lungs and the ground beneath your feet are.Your life, with all its messiness and imperfections, is real and valid. You do not need to perform for an audience; you just need to be.A Note from Martin: "Discard those negative anchors that have ever held you back, embrace your true potential.".Connect & Support: If this escape helped you find peace, please subscribe to Calming Anxiety.Next Step: When you open your eyes, try not to reach for the screen immediately—look at something real, like the sky or your hands.Smile often, and be kind.
Jenna and Henry play a holiday edition of the game ‘Reel of Unreel,' where they try to guess whether the description of a holiday TV movie is real or made up.
