BEYOND BC is a podcast that explores the professional and personal trajectories of the diverse alumni from the prestigious Berkeley Carroll School, located in Brooklyn, NY. The show is hosted by Timothy Quinn, Jr, '05. Berkeley Carroll is an independent, preK through 12th grade college prep school that encourages the exploration of intellectual curiosity, creativity, and mutual respect through a hands-on approach to education. Since its founding as the Berkeley Institute in 1883, BC has had a mission to foster critical, ethical and global thinkers. This podcasts aims to showcase their imprints on the world.

Host Timothy Quinn, Jr., '05 interviews Radley Horton, Class of 1990. Radley is currently the Lamont Associate Research Professor and climate scientist at Columbia University. His research focuses on climate vulnerability, extreme weather events, the limitations of climate models, and adaptation to climate change.
Host Timothy Quinn, Jr., '05 interviews Elisabeth Thomas, Class of 2006. Lissie, a native to Brooklyn and former archivist at the MoMA, is launching her debut novel with Harper Collins entitled Catherine House. A gothic-infused literary suspense tale that was inspired in part by her love of great fiction such as Jane Eyre and Blue Beard, it also draws from her time as an undergraduate at Yale University.
Host Timothy Quinn, Jr., '05 interviews Rebecca Ballhaus, Class of 2009. She is currently a White House reporter for the Wall Street Journal. After studying political science at Brown University, where she graduated from in 2013, she started at the Journal's Washington DC Bureau where she has covered campaign finance, the Russia investigation, the federal investigation into Michael Cohen, and the Trump administration. In 2019, along with other members of the WSJ, Rebecca won a Pulitzer Prize for coverage of Trump's direction of payments from Michael Cohen to Stormy Daniels. She has also appeared as a political analyst for NPR, MSNBC, and CNN.
Host Timothy Quinn, Jr., '05 interviews Khalid A. Rahmaan, Class of 1995. Khalid Rahmaan is a terrible driver, a delusional Knicks fan and a Brooklyn-based stand-up comic. He made his late night debut on CONAN and Thrillist recently named him one of the 50 Best Undiscovered Comedians in America. When he's not on stage, you can usually find Khalid writing funny things for other folks to say. He's written for HQ Trivia, the NAACP Image Awards and Impractical Jokers. He's also the co-host of the Eff'n Up podcast. You can follow Khalid at "khalidsays" on Instagram. He promises he doesn't usually speak in the third person.
Host Timothy Quinn, Jr., '05 interviews Devin Gilmartin, Class of 2016. Devin is the co-founder and President of Querencia Studio, a fashion brand focused on addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through their supply chain and process. Devin discusses finding his passion at a young age through the Island School, his journey into fashion, and the ins and outs of creating a brand that at its core is built around sustainability.
