Jesus has accomplished many miracles that are still told to this day. One of the incredible stories was how he fed a crowd of 5000 starving people with only five loaves of bread and two fish. In this episode of Bible By The Lake, Lexi and Maria will narrate the inspiring story of Esther. Not only will they tell the story, but they will answer questions and have an after talk. The book of Esther is one of only two books in the Bible named for women. Esther was an orphaned child raised by her older cousin Mordecai. Mordecai raised Esther to be humble, strong, and independent. Even though it was against the law to be Jewish, Mordecai practiced what he believed, aware of the consequences. This story is about a young, beautiful, Jewish woman named Esther, who was chosen for the throne by King Xerxes I. At this time, it was against the law to be Jewish. This story takes place in ancient Persia. Esther hears about a plot to kill her and her people. Esther knows what she has to do. She saves her people in the light of God. If Esther hadn't risked her life, the entire history of the Jews could have been horribly different. Join us and listen to find out how the king reacts to Esther's secret. The story of Esther has inspired many young girls to be courageous and selfless.
