We're back for a Valentine's Day episode. We covered "Heart Eyes" from 2025. What a delightful little comedy/slasher movie! When Jay and Ally are forced to work together to save a failing ad campaign for jewelry, they end up getting stalked by a masked killer who targets couples in love. Can they survive Valentine's Day trying to convince the killer they're not actually a couple but at the same time falling for each other? Yeah, probably. And we talked all about it. A couple things in the movie didn't quite make sense, but hey, that's what slasher movies do! Don't blame us! Enjoy and tell a friend!Follow us on Instagram @SlashU_PodcastEmail us at SlashUPodcast@gmail.comCheck out the Facebook page too: SlashU PodcastClick any of the Amazon links at SlashUPodcast.com to support the showThanks to ZapSplat.com for our Sound FX Hosted on Acast. We're back again for another totally romantic Valentine's Day one-shot! The annual tradition continues as my wife Lynn joins me for a tangentially-love-related one-shot of a TTRPG session. This year we go back to Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu to play the 2nd scenario in the Does Love Forgive? collection of 1-GM-1-Player mysteries! One day after Chicago's St. Valentine's Day Massacre in February 1929, a simple dog retrieval turns into a long-simmering love triangle gone very, very wrong! ----more---- Join the DMs After Dark Discord channel! I made a Ko-Fi if you feel absurdly generous and want to help cover podcast hosting costs & all the upkeep. I'm still working on whether I want to offer anything special over there or just give my extreme gratitude (maybe some stickers or something in the mail) to those who donate, but no pressure whatsoever :) Where to Follow Rene Plays Games: LinkTree | BlueSky | Threads | Instagram | Facebook | DMs After Dark Rene's Games: MECH | MECH Cities 2 | One Last Quest | I Know I Know You, But I Don't Know How... email: RenePlaysGamesPod@gmail.com Music in the Episode (in order of appearance): Ragtimers - Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate from Archive.org Heavy Machine Gun F by Monument Studios An Unbreakable Bond by Vindsvept Survivors' Bivouac by Tabletop Audio Interrogation Room by Tabletop Audio As Time Passes from ZapSplat.com Nordic Noir by Tabletop Audio Vault of Terror by Tabletop Audio Futile by Monument Studios Lament of the Leaves by Vindsvept Rene Plays Games Theme written & produced by Dan Pomfret | @danfrombothbands
Drop us a line or two . . .In this episode, Queenie & TT do what midlife women everywhere are doing right now: trying to hold it together when winter, responsibility, and the state of the world are doing the most to break us. There's frigid weather, indoor soccer in inflatable buildings, sports stress, and the honest truth that sometimes the best mental health plan is: go outside once… and then refuse to leave the house again. They share what they're consuming today (pink lemonade live rosin gummies and a Space Cake pre-roll), talk about the strange “nap trap” that hits after a big breakfast, and discuss why sativa days are sometimes a medical necessity for functioning humans. Then the episode turns into a surprisingly juicy mix of:why AI tools like Suno are still creative tools (just like nobody grinds their own paint anymore) the ongoing Canadian citizenship saga (passport renewal + trying to lure family north like it's a Zillow listing with better healthcare) a big moment of good news: New York's Medical Aid in Dying bill being signed, and why having the option matters a fresh round of “Was Cannabis Involved or Is This Just Kaka?” featuring: honey wedding favors gone wrong and the DEA embarrassing itself with an emoji “drug decoder” that absolutely deserves public mocking And the Fuck-It List entry this week is pure midlife enlightenment:
Let's Chat!!Boo Bitches! Not all witches work in covens. Some of us thrive in quiet rooms, late-night rituals, and energy that doesn't require a group chat.In this episode of C3: Crystals, Cauldrons & Cocktails, we're diving into the power of solitary witchery—its history, its misconceptions, its shadow sides, and why practicing alone can be one of the most powerful choices you make.Solitary doesn't mean isolated. Let's Chat!!Boo Bitches!Ever feel like a dead houseplant is watching you?In this mini episode of Cauldrons of Chaos, we're talking about plant hauntings—that special blend of guilt, neglect, and energetic awkwardness that lingers after a rosemary bush gives up on you emotionally. Is it a ghost? Probably not. Is it the energetic residue of broken routines, forgotten watering days, and choosing cocktails over consistency? Absolutely. We'll break down what a plant haunting really is, the signs your home might be haunted by botanical regret, and how to perform a gentle, drama-free Botanical Apology Ritual—no exorcism required.Because plants don't want revenge. They want closure. And maybe a reminder set on your phone. If you've ever apologized to an empty pot, avoided that corner of the room, or wondered if moon water counts when it's actually gin—this one's for you.Boo-bitches. We're back for a new year and a new season of SlashU! We wanted to start Season 12 off with a bang, but unfortunately we decided to cover a movie given to us by two of our loyal listeners. And it was bad. It's called "Cult of Blood" from 2024. Now, granted it stars low-budget horror royalty in the form of Felissa Rose and Dave Sheridan. But that's where the fun stops because this one was a weird, disjointed, train wreck of a plot from the start. A group of social media influencers get trapped by a vampire cult and have to escape before their blood becomes fuel for some dark ritual that unleashes a weird bat monster. Yeah, all that happens. It's hard to follow, didn't seem to have a real script, but definitely did have Windows 98 style special effects. Drop us a line or two . . .Episodes may include original AI-assisted music created by Queenie & TT, alongside licensed intro and outro music. In this episode, Queenie & TT reconnect after a warm-weather escape and a return to brutal winter temperatures, reflecting on travel resets, cold-weather survival, and the strange humor that comes with seasonal whiplash. From snow-covered beaches to hockey games, humming as therapy, and the chaos of ongoing kitchen renovations, this episode captures the everyday rhythm of midlife in motion.Cannabis remains part of the ritual, with the hosts sharing what they're consuming today — from infused fizz drinks to hybrid pre-rolls — and continuing their mission to make adult-use cannabis conversations accessible without needing advice from a 22-year-old budtender.A major personal revelation takes center stage when Queenie discovers she may already be a Canadian citizen thanks to recent citizenship law changes. This sparks a fascinating dive into genealogy, Irish migration history, the Robinson settlement scheme, and how history continues to shape identity today.TT brings cannabis legal news involving driving laws and police search procedures, highlighting a recent court ruling clarifying when marijuana can legally be considered an “open container” and reinforcing the ongoing need for consistent cannabis policy across jurisdictions.Of course, no episode would be complete without:✨ “Was Cannabis Involved or Is This Just KaKa?” — featuring bong-water tasting claims and anti-munchies cannabis myths.

Let's Chat!!Welcome back to this week's mini Cauldrons of Chaos episode — the podcast where the candles are lit, the vibes are questionable, and sometimes the most powerful spell you can cast is not lying down on the floor. This mini episode is for witches who want results but do not have the energy for:Full ritualsCircle castingRemembering planetary correspondencesOr putting on pantsWe're talking Candles in a Crisis — emergency witchcraft for when you're exhausted, overstimulated, and one minor inconvenience away from communing with the carpet spirits. From random candles and half-burned altar stubs to the emotionally supportive tea light of desperation, this episode walks you through a low-effort flame ritual that still counts as real magick. No perfection. No guilt. Just intention, fire, and the radical idea that showing up halfway is still showing up.Survival spells are valid spells. Rest is sacred. And a single candle lit with intention is not a shortcut — it's efficiency.Stay lit.

Drop us a line or two . . .In this episode, Queenie & TT lean into the growing midlife realization that the old way of doing things may no longer apply — and that turning it upside down might be exactly what's required. They talk candidly about exhaustion, disruption, and the low-grade burnout that comes from being the default person for everything. From home projects and daily chaos to the emotional weight of hosting, organizing, and maintaining traditions that no longer fit, the conversation reflects what it feels like when the clock keeps moving but your priorities shift.Cannabis weaves through the discussion as both routine and reflection — what they're using, why clarity matters more than excess, and how slowing down can sometimes be forced rather than chosen. TT offers perspective on the uneven global landscape of cannabis legality, travel risks, and why assumptions can still land people in serious trouble. As always, the episode wanders joyfully through word nerdery, cultural references, trivia detours, and another round of “Was Cannabis Involved or Is This Just Kaka?” — because laughter is still essential. The episode lands with this week's Fuck-It List entry:

Let's Chat!!Boo, bitches. This week's mini cauldrons of chaos episode is about grounding — but not the soft, whispery, “just breathe” kind that makes some of us want to hiss. This is grounding for when you're:OverstimulatedDeeply annoyedSpiritually aligned but emotionally feralYou're not ungrounded. And that's different. In this episode, we're talking grounding techniques that:Let you stay madDon't require serenity or enlightenmentWork with your irritation instead of pretending it doesn't existFrom aggressive tea drinking, to touching dirt with attitude, to naming exactly what pissed you off today, this episode is proof that you don't have to be calm to be grounded — you just have to be present in your body, even if that body is glaring at the universe. This isn't failed spirituality. Let's Chat!!Boo, bitches. We love beginnings. New moons. New journals. New versions of ourselves we swear will be more organized. But endings? Endings make witches uncomfortable—and that's exactly why we need them.In this episode of C3: Crystals, Cauldrons & Cocktails, we're talking about rituals of ending: why unfinished endings linger, how witches across history marked closure, and why simply walking away doesn't actually stop energy from following you. From leaving labels behind and outgrowing spiritual paths, to relationships that ended emotionally long before they ended physically, we're digging into what it really means to be done. We'll explore cultural rites of closure, practical sealing magic, and how to close energetic tabs without burning your life down. Because endings aren't failures—they're spells. And when witches end things properly, they don't haunt themselves later.Pour a Final Cut, light a candle, and let's talk about how to say:This happened. It mattered. And it is no longer active. As I kick off Season 11 of the Liz Career Coaching Podcast, I'm inviting you to slow down and pause before rushing into new goals, plans, or decisions.A new year often brings pressure to do more, achieve more, and figure everything out quickly. In this episode, I share why I believe clarity doesn't come from pushing harder it comes from self-reflection and intentional pauses. I talk about how journaling helps me recognize when my goals start to feel fuzzy or when I'm chasing things without really understanding why.I also share a personal and vulnerable story about stepping outside my comfort zone. It reminded me what it feels like to be a beginner again, to face fear and ego, and to choose growth anyway. This episode is a gentle reminder to give yourself permission to try, even when you don't feel ready. Episode HighlightsWhy I believe pausing and self-reflection are just as important as goal-settingThe discomfort of being a beginner and why it's actually a good thingHow fear and ego can quietly keep us stuckWhy confidence comes after action, not beforeA reminder to give yourself permission to try...big or smallConnect with me:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lizcareercoaching/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lizcareercoaching/Website: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lizcareercoaching/Email: lizcareercoaching@gmail.com40 Best Career Coach Podcasts100 Best Coaching PodcastsMusic: https://www.purple-planet.comSound from Zapsplat.comArtwork: Joseph Valenzuela DesignSupport the show
Okay so I know I went on this whole tirade about hags last time, but I'm honestly starting to hate these magen things as well. I understand that they don't have a free will but come on. Also, who told them to go attack the bitterhearts?? It angers me endlessly. Auril needs to come down already so they have another target. Right, Max Hedman?Sound effects courtesy of Zapsplat.
Hey Students! We're on break as of the original posting date of this episode. But we wanted to take a few minutes and just sit down and reflect on 200 episodes of SlashU. We've seen a TON of cheesy, campy, sometimes forgotten Slasher/Horror movies. And lots of you have been along for the ride. Thanks so much to those of you who are loyal listeners of SlashU. We're always looking to grow the audience and continue to develop as a podcast but also further join the horror community. Tell a friend, leave a review, share the show. It's how we grow and we'll do our best to keep up with all of it in 2026. Let's Chat!!Boo, Bitches! This episode was recorded on vacation, which means all rules were suspended.I was surrounded by friends who are—tragically—muggles, and instead of relaxing like a normal person, I did the only reasonable thing: handed them a microphone and started asking questions about witchcraft, magick, superstition, and all the things they definitely don't believe in… except when they do.What followed was a hilarious, honest, and occasionally unhinged conversation full of accidental witch behavior, strong opinions about crystals and tarot, and several moments where people realized they might already be doing low-key magick without realizing it.No one was cursed.Several people were exposed.Science was not consulted - although there were scientists involved!Grab a drink (or pedialite if necessary) and enjoy A Witch, Some Muggles, and a Microphone—a vacation experiment that absolutely delivered. Let's Chat!!Boo, Bitches!Today on our mini cauldron of chaos episode, we're attempting the most dangerous ritual of all: cleaning the house. That's right—banishing dust, hexing mold, negotiating with sentient laundry piles, and confronting the Underworld portal under the couch. This mini episode turns everyday cleaning into full-blown domestic witchcraft, complete with sweeping spells, glamour magick countertops, judgmental house spirits, and a vacuum that may or may not be choking on your life choices. From incense-fueled pre-clean rituals to bathroom banishing (abandon hope), ancestor-approved dusting, and sealing your work like the High Priestess (or Priest!) of Lemon Sorcery that you are—this episode proves that cleaning isn't just a chore. It's purification. It's protection. It's chaos management with a broom.Light a candle, crack a window, tell your house spirits to hush, and join us for witchy wisdom, unhinged truths, and the reminder that if a spirit wants to judge your mess… they can grab a mop.Happy cleansing, witches—and happy New Year. Does anyone else here just absolutely loathe hags? Just me? They always have some shit to say or do that I don't like. It genuinely pisses me off. GODS they make me so mad. I wish our party wasn't battered to hell so they could kill these fools. Oh well, a few stolen memories aren't the worst thing. Also the way it is described isn't how memories work..I'm not going to go on a tangent here. Max Hedman, play us a song to forget to.Sound effects courtesy of Zapsplat.

Drop us a line or two . . .It's the final episode of the year, and Queenie and TT are doing what they do best—making sense of the madness with humor, cannabis, and zero patience for nonsense. This week, the Queens revisit the surprisingly powerful science of humming (yes, humming) as a stress reliever and sinus saver, reflect on collective trauma and gaslighting fatigue, and unpack the latest cannabis news—including federal rescheduling and Supreme Court silence. They play another round of Did This Happen Stoned or Is It Kaka? (Indonesia delivers), add a brutally honest new rule to the F*** It List—stop pretending to like people you don't—and close out the year with laughter, grief, gratitude, and real talk about boundaries, aging, and surviving whatever comes next.
