In this episode of Don't Miss This, Dave Butler and Grace Freeman study Exodus 7–13 and reveal how the story of the plagues and the Passover is ultimately an Easter story about Jesus Christ. What begins with Moses standing before Pharaoh unfolds into a powerful reminder of who God is — a God who patiently reaches, teaches, and invites. Even through the plagues, the Lord is not just delivering Israel, but continually giving opportunities for hearts to soften and recognize Him. At the center of it all is the Passover. A lamb without blemish, blood on the doorposts, and a people being saved from death — all pointing directly to Jesus Christ. This moment becomes more than a historical rescue; it becomes a pattern of redemption. The same way the Israelites were delivered, we are reminded that Christ is the Lamb who saves, whose sacrifice allows death to pass over us and gives us a new beginning. This episode invites us to see Easter more clearly — not just as a single event, but as a story written throughout scripture. A story of a God who sees, hears, and remembers, and who is always working to rescue His people. Because Easter is the promise that through Jesus Christ, deliverance is real, redemption is possible, and a new life can begin. Joe explains how the 10 plagues of Egypt in Exodus was a direct judgement against the false gods the Egyptians were worshipping. Transcript: Joe: Welcome back to Shameless Popery. I’m Joe Heschmeyer, and you probably know the basic story of the tin plagues and the Exodus. God sends Moses to Pharaoh to tell him- CLIP: Let my people go. Joe: Pharaoh, of course, refuses, and so God sends a series of tin plagues, ultimately leading to the death of the firstborn children of man beast alike. Only at this point does Pharaoh relent? The Israelites are freed. But that’s just the surface of ...
We are thankful that the plagues are ending! God continues to show that He is more powerful than the gods of Egypt, but the Pharaoh's stubbornness continues to hold him back from true repentance. What can we learn from these plagues? Let's find out!
5. The conversation details the collapse of the Hittite Empire in central Anatolia. Despite once being equal to Egypt, the Hittites suffered from poor leadership and internal rot, exacerbated by plagues and famine. Their capital, Hattusa, was eventually burned, possibly by local enemies rather than the Sea Peoples. While the main empire disappeared, "rump states" survived in northern Syria, becoming the Neo-Hittites mentioned in the Bible. Additionally, Cline mentions recent computer modeling that suggests the simultaneous collapse of the Hittites and the port city of Ugarit was sufficient to bring down the entire global trade network. Give to help Chris make Truce President Jimmy Carter's presidency (1977–1981) faced several major challenges, both domestically and internationally. One of the biggest domestic issues was the struggling U.S. economy. Carter inherited high inflation and unemployment, problems that worsened during his term. The country experienced "stagflation" — a combination of stagnant economic growth and high inflation. The energy crisis, marked by oil shortages and skyrocketing gas prices, further fueled economic instability. Though Carter promoted energy conservation and alternative energy development, many Americans viewed his efforts as inadequate or overly pessimistic. Internationally, Carter faced major challenges in foreign policy. One of the most significant was the Iran Hostage Crisis, which began in November 1979 when 52 American diplomats and citizens were taken hostage at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. The crisis lasted 444 days and was a major blow to Carter's administration, especially after a failed rescue attempt. It deeply affected U.S. relations with Iran and damaged public confidence in Carter's leadership. Though Carter did achieve a major diplomatic success with the Camp David Accords — a peace agreement between Egypt and Israel — the Iran Hostage Crisis ultimately overshadowed much of his foreign policy work. Another major issue during Carter's presidency was a perceived lack of effective leadership. Carter, known for his integrity and moral outlook, struggled to build strong relationships with Congress and the media. He often took a technocratic, detail-oriented approach to governing, which alienated many political allies. Critics saw his administration as indecisive and overly focused on long-term goals rather than immediate results. These perceptions contributed to a loss of public confidence and were a key factor in his defeat by Ronald Reagan in the 1980 presidential election. We're breaking the format a bit this week to give you a breather! These will come up sporadically this year, and they're meant to be weeks for you to listen, reflect, and catch up. Hunter recaps where we've been, talks about the Plagues against Egypt, and gives us challenges to consider this week. For the next episode, make sure you have read Exodus 12:1-40, 13:17-14:29, 15:1-21.As always: don't forget to leave a voice memo right here or email Hunter at hbabcock@coastline.family.
In chapter 8, when God unleashes judgments on Egypt, the Pharaoh doesn't seem too bothered. He tells Moses he'll let him pray...tomorrow! The idea of tomorrow can cause to procrastinate and build a habit of refusing to listen to God. Beware of a hardened heart.
Before the bowls of wrath are poured out, heaven sings. Revelation 15 pulls back the curtain and shows the redeemed rejoicing over the holiness and justice of God as His final judgments are about to fall — no embarrassment, no apology, only the declaration, “Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations.” In a generation that often prefers a therapeutic gospel to a holy God, this passage confronts us: the sanctuary fills with smoke, access closes, and mercy gives way to judgment. Here we are reminded that salvation is not merely deliverance from a broken life but rescue from the righteous wrath of a holy God — and the darker the backdrop of divine justice, the brighter the brilliance of the Lamb who was slain.

In this Bible Story, God demonstrates his power through the plagues as Pharaoh’s heart grows harder and more cruel. But God’s resolve to redeem his people remains steadfast in freeing His people from slavery. This story is inspired by Exodus 10-13:16. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is Exodus 12:12 from the King James Version.Episode 37: Though God’s plagues against Pharaoh continued, he continued to harden his heart like stone. Though his servants and wise men begged him to let Israel go; he refused. So God sent a final warning among the people, that whoever fears God should mark the doorposts of their homes with the blood of a lamb, for at midnight God would visit all who ignored His warning and take their firstborn in return for the cruelty Egypt has shown against His firstborn, Israel.Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast. CHRONICLES OF THE BLACK DEATH: From bird-masked doctors filling their beaks with rose petals to an entire city dancing itself to death, the history of plague is far stranger — and far more disturbing — than most people realize. And when a 20th-century outbreak hit San Francisco, the government's response wasn't to fight the disease — it was to cover it up. | #WDRadio WEEK OF FEB 15, 2026==========HOUR ONE: About 80 years after the black plague began, a different plague came upon England – a fatal one that would cause you to almost instantly perspire to death. (Death By Sweat) *** Most everyone is familiar with the plague in Europe in the early 1400s – but in the early 1900s it struck again. This time in San Francisco. If you've not heard that before, it could be because the U.S. government tried to cover it up. (The Plague of San Francisco) *** Of all the imagery that comes to mind when hearing the words “bubonic plague” the most prevalent is most certainly that of the doctors – and the odd, bird-like masks they would wear. Why they dressed that way is interesting – but what the doctors did while wearing those suits and in their labs as they tried to battle the illness is absolutely horrifying. (Plague Doctors) *** And it probably comes as no surprise that something so deadly and horrific as the black plague would leave behind some residual paranormal energy – and boy is there a lot of it. (A Plague of Ghosts)==========HOUR TWO: During the bubonic plague in the early Middle-Ages, those who became sick and were even suspected of having the plague, were forced to relocate to a quarantined island – Poveglia Island. The gruesomeness that took place there still continues today, with the island being illegal to visit – and reportedly, very haunted. (Inside Black Plague Island) *** We look at some of the bathing – and lack thereof – that took place during the bubonic plague, as well as some of the beliefs they had about diet and how it might protect from contagion. Some of the ideas of what people thought could protect them from the disease are nothing short of shocking. (Living With The Black Death)==========SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME: We look at some of the bathing – and lack thereof – that took place during the bubonic plague, as well as some of the beliefs they had about diet and how it might protect from contagion. Some of the ideas of what people thought could protect them from the disease are nothing short of shocking. (Living With The Black Death – CONTINUED) *** Europe just could not escape plagues of any kind – for example, the plague that made you, against your will, keep dancing until you dropped dead. Send a textThis is the fourth of five bonus episodes I shall be releasing this week. This is the latest episode of My 'History of the Christian Church' Podcast. When Gregory the Great became bishop of Rome at the end of the sixth century, the Western world was pretty much in ruins and standing on the edge of an era that would become known as the Dark Ages. The Roman Empire in the West had collapsed. Cities were crumbling. Plagues swept through the population. Invasions came not in isolation, but in waves. Civil authority was weak, unreliable, and sometimes absent altogether. And into that chaos stepped Gregory. He never sought power. Gregory preferred the quiet life of a monk to the burden of public leadership. Yet history would remember him as one of the most influential figures of the early medieval Church—the man who more than any other bridged the ancient world and the medieval West.To subscribe and listen to the entire series for free. In this study we will take a look at the miracles that Yahweh performed on the Egyptians, when Israel was held in bondage, during this period in Exodus. We will see that those miracles were against the Egyptian deities or gods that they worshipped. The story of Moses is not just the story of the freedom of a group of slaves from Egypt in the second millennium BCE. It is the blueprint of the Plan of Salvation of the world as seen from the structure laid down in the Bible. Moses was the prototype of the Christ or Messiah. More importantly, the nation of Israel saw Moses as a prototype and the Bible record illustrates that point. Moses said: ‘And Yahweh said unto me, they have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.' (Deut. 18:17-18).In this study I continue in chapter 10 verses 7 to 20. Chapter 10Verses 1-20 The Eighth Plague Locusts7 let = ‘eth' ‘Aleph-Tav' Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah's ElectThat they may serve = “‛âbad” “aw-bad”' “ayin-bet-dalet” ‘Alpeh-Tav'Ayin = (eye) watch, know, shade (this letter is basically silent) Dalet = (tent door) move, hang, entranceBet = (tent floor plan) family, house, inAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (Cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossOnce again we see Elohim is charge. Not just anybody, but Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah's Elect. By bringing the people out of bondage they will enter into the promise land. However in order to perform this work, Moses and the people must keep their eyes on Elohim. Therefore we can say the meaning of ‘ye shall serve is a work performed or made for another out of obligation, requirement or gratitude. 8 And = ‘eth' ‘Aleph-Tav' By inserting ‘eth' this once again show that Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah are the driving force behind Moses and Aaron. 12 Eat = ‘'âkal' ‘‘aw-kal'' aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderKaph = (open palm) bend, open, allow, tame lamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe Hebrew Letter ‘kaph' is a picture of the bent palm representing the bending or subduing of the will, the Hebrew Letter ‘lamed' is a picture of a shepherd staff or yoke. Combined these mean "tame for the yoke". An animal or land that is tamed has been worked and is complete and ready for use. Taming include; construction of holding pens, putting the soil to the plow, harvesting of crops, milk or meat. One eats once the harvest is complete. When the Hebrew word ‘eth' is included, this shows once again the Divine Presence in controlling these locusts. Other words this isn't from nature. The working is the work of Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah against the Egyptian deities!Even = ‘eth' ‘Aleph-Tav' It wasn't the hail that left it, it was Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah who left it!15 for they covered = ‘kâsâh' ‘kaw-saw'' ‘kaph-samech-hey' ‘Aleph-Tav'Kaph = (open palm) bend, open, allow, tameSamech = (thorn) grab, hate protecthey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossOther words, by the outstretched hands of Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah, He allowed those locusts to cover the land being a thorn in the side of Egypt.Have any questions? Exodus 9 is not your run of the mill "Plagues of Biblical Proportions" story. No indeed! And as we study Exodus 9 together, we'll see that it's filled with several points and insights that show us what was really going on with these plagues, why Pharaoh's repentance didn't cut it, and even some key principles about our own pursuit of the Lord. Join us! DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1. This podcast episode began with a quick overview of the Egyptian gods that were defeated by the Lord. What does the fact that the Lord dominating their supposed sphere of sovereignty demonstrate about His reality and their falsehood? 2. The podcast mentions that the "livestock" was destroyed in verse 4 and again in verse 19. What were some of the possible reasons given in the podcast as to why this is the case? How does this help us understand occasional gaps when translating ancient Hebrew into modern English? 3. What did the fact that the plagues came upon the Egyptians and not the Jews show about the power and plan of God for His people? How did this fact show that these weren't natural phenomenon that Moses was trying to co-opt and claim to be of the Lord? 4. Sometimes we think that everyone from these days were really just ignorant people who were overrun with superstitions. How do the Egyptian's responses show us that this is not the case? How does their response show mankind's tendency to be disinclined to believe the Lord? 5. The podcast explains that Pharaoh's repentance was not accepted by God because it was over the wrong things. In other words, Pharaoh may have been sorry before God, and even feared the Lord, but Pharaoh was not seeking to repent and enter into a covenant with the Lord to obey Him from now on. How do people still offer this kind of repentance today? 6. How do we see God's mercy in these plagues? How do we see His mercy in warning Pharaoh ahead of time? How did Pharaoh disregard the mercies of God? How do people do this in our day today? 7. The podcast explained the paradox of the Lord hardening Pharaoh's heart whereas other times Pharaoh hardened his own heart. The podcast explained that the Hebrew word means "made strong." How did Pharoah harden his own heart and how did the Lord strengthen him in that inclination? 8. The podcast also pointed out that we are heavily influenced by the people we allow into our lives. Who was influencing Pharaoh to disobey the Lord? What impact did this influence have on Pharaoh and the nation? Who should Pharaoh have been listening to? 9. The podcast ended by encouraging us to examine our own heart. When it comes to the things of the Lord, are you hardened to Him or softened? How might you submit to Him that He might soften you to obey His Word and His ways? Check out our Bible Study Guide on the Key Chapters of Genesis! In this study we will take a look at the miracles that Yahweh performed on the Egyptians, when Israel was held in bondage, during this period in Exodus. We will see that those miracles were against the Egyptian deities or gods that they worshippedThe story of Moses is not just the story of the freedom of a group of slaves from Egypt in the second millennium BCE. It is the blueprint of the Plan of Salvation of the world as seen from the structure laid down in the Bible Moses was the prototype of the Christ or Messiah. 18:17-18)In this study I continue in chapter 9 verse 27 and finish up this chapterChapter 10Verses 1-20 The Eighth Plague LocustsI start out reading from Thomas Horn book, ‘The Gods”5 And they shall cover = ‘kâsâh' ‘kaw-saw'' Kaph = (open palm) bend, open, allow, tameSamech = (thorn) grab, hate protecthey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThese locusts, by the hands of Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah, will ‘cover' the open land as Moses stretches forth ‘his arms', however as the locusts are a 'thorn' in the side of the Egyptians, we see also the Divine Protection of His Electto see = râ'âh' ‘raw-aw'' ‘resh-alpeh-hey-‘ ‘Aleph-Tav'resh = (head of a Man)front, head, chief, first, top, beginningaleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderhey = (man with arms raised) behold, reveal, window, breathAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossTherefore we have with the 4 [earth] letters ‘resh, aleph, aleph, and tav' none other than Elohim, Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah telling Moses that as He looks through that window of space He is revealing (hey) the bondage of His peopleAnd they shall eat = ‘'âkal' ‘‘aw-kal'' aleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderKaph = (open palm) bend, open, allow, tame lamed – (shepherd staff), teach, yoke, to bindAleph = (ox) strength, strong, power, leaderTav = (cross) sign, covenant seal, mark and crossThe Hebrew Letter ‘kaph' is a picture of the bent palm representing the bending or subduing of the will, the Hebrew Letter ‘lamed' is a picture of a shepherd staff or yoke. The working is the work of Yahweh/Yahshua Messiah against the Egyptian deities!face of the earth = a Hebrew figure of speck for ‘eye of the earth'. Eye put for what is seen by it. This was either the appearance and color of the earth, so as they could not be discerned for the multitude of the locusts on it; the same word is used in Numbers 11:7 or the eye of man looking upon the earth, which would not be able to see it, because the locusts would be between his eye and the earthHave any questions? God's deliverance of His people from Egypt was a form of spiritual warfare; and today as we look at Exodus 7 we'll discuss how Satan tried to confuse Pharaoh and the Egyptians back then, and how he's doing the same kinds of things today. And to be strong in the face of spiritual warfare, we need to be on guard and have pure faith and trust in God. DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: Exodus 7 1. For the past several days, we have been studying the Book of Exodus, however, we haven't discussed what the name means. What does the name "Exodus" mean and what was the "exit" that it is referring to? What was the initial reason that this Exodus was to take place? 2. The podcast gave a quick review of Exodus 6 & 7. What was Pharoah's first response to Moses in Exodus 5:2? How did the Jews respond to Moses in Exodus 5:21? Was Moses receiving this flack from these people because he was obeying God or disobeying Him? How did Moses respond in Exodus 5:22? How did the Lord respond to Moses in Exodus 6:1 and following? How do you think you might have reacted to Pharaoh and the people if they responded this way to you? 3. What did God warn Moses about in Exodus 7:3-5? In what ways did this come true? 4. In Exodus 7, how were the Egyptian magicians able to counterfeit the miracles of God? The podcast mentions that Moses and Aaron's age help us answer the question about magic tricks. What was the point that the podcast made about the true source of Moses and Aaron's miracles? 5. The podcast mentioned that the 10 Plagues are excellent examples of spiritual warfare because often Satan seeks to confuse the situation. How did Satan confuse these first plagues and how did Pharaoh and his servants respond? How do people today respond similarly to these kinds of attempts at confusion in their lives? 6. Strength and courage often comes from a strong sense of obedience to God and anticipation that He will work. What commands was Moses obeying in this passage and how was he anticipating the Lord to work? In your day today, are there clear commands from scripture that relate to what you will likely encounter? How might the Lord work in those situations? 7. The podcast mentioned that these plagues all were assaults on the Egyptian false gods. Why did the Jews need to see God's power over Egypt's false gods? What does this show us about God's care and compassion for His people, even when they are struggling in the faith? 8. The podcast mentioned that Hapi was the god of the Nile and fertility. Also, Khnum was the god of the Nile. The Nile was supposed to produce life, but what did it produce instead? How does this show the Lord's power over Hapi, Khnum and also Osiris (who supposedly had the Nile flowing in his bloodstream)? 9. The magicians could turn water into "blood" but could not turn it back. How did this fact demonstrate the reality of Moses' miracles versus the fakery of the magicians? 10. The podcast suggested that the world creates all kinds of fake fantasies to compete with the truth of God. How do people sometimes look at the world's fantasy and think it's more appealing than God's actual truth? 11. Through these miracles, the Lord was calling His people to leave Egypt and not be entangled in their religions. Along these lines, how do His people get entangled in the world today? What is God's call for them today? 12. Although we may not often see God work in such dramatic ways, He does still work in our lives. How have you seen God work in your life? How should that galvanize your own commitment to Him? Check out our Bible Study Guide on the Key Chapters of Genesis! Available on Amazon just in time for the Genesis relaunch in January! Pharaoh is one tough nut to crack. Notwithstanding all the miracles, signs, and wonders that the Almighty displays in Egypt, Pharaoh persists in his stubborn, immovable, intransigence. God promised to harden his heart and thereby prolong the period of the Plagues, but Pharaoh himself hardened his own heart. But something dramatic happened to Pharaoh. He slowly and steadily became a believer. He slowly and steadily accepted the dominion of God. He slowly and steadily began to live as a believer, began to interface with the world as someone cognizant and aware of God's dominion, omniscience, and omnipotence. The Torah centers the storyline of the Exodus on the transformation of Pharaoh. For us, the lessons are quite profound. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –This Parsha podcast is dedicated by Paul and Carol Block in loving memory and leilui nishmas their parents – Paul's father, Harav Moshe Yosef ben Harav Avraham Chaim, whose yahrzeit is 22 Teves, and Carol's mother, Charna Leah bas Reb Moshe, whose yahrzeit is 24 Teves. This week's Torah portion covers Exodus 6:2-9:35. It is called Va'era, which means “and I appeared,” the first words spoken to Moses in the text. In Va'era, the story of the Exodus begins. Plagues hit the Egyptians in full force. Pharaoh knew the names of many false gods, but the one true God, the God of the Israelites, was a mystery to him. Through a series of pestilence, blood, darkness, death, and disease, Yahweh shows himself greater than any other imaginable power. Exodus is the most supernatural book in the Hebrew Bible. But it is also the climax, the pinnacle of Israel's story. Until now, the patriarchs learned of God's covenant promises through quiet acts like nighttime wrestling, angelic visitations at the door of a tent, or through firm convictions of conscience and clear revelations. But now the birth pangs are growing sharp. The Egyptians require unprecedented signs and punishments that go beyond the explainable.Support the show

Welcome to Day 2770 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2770 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 105:16-36 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2770 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day two thousand seven hundred seventy of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The title for today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Sovereign Storyteller – From the Dungeon to the Darkness of Egypt. Today, we continue our grand historical survey in Psalm One Hundred Five. We are picking up the narrative where we left off, covering verses sixteen through thirty-six in the New Living Translation. In our previous trek through the first fifteen verses of this psalm, we established the foundation. We saw God making an unbreakable covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We saw the Patriarchs as "protected wanderers," a tiny group of strangers moving through a hostile world, yet guarded by a God who rebuked kings for their sake, saying, "Do not touch my chosen people." But now, the story takes a dark and dramatic turn. The camera shifts from the open pastures of Canaan to the dungeons of Egypt. The protection of the Patriarchs gives way to the slavery of the nation. In this section, we will see that God is not just the God of the promise; He is the God of the process. We will witness how He orchestrates famine, imprisonment, and political intrigue to position His people. And then, we will witness one of the greatest cosmic battles in history, as Yahweh enters the ring against the gods of Egypt in a campaign of de-creation known as the Plagues. This is not just history; it is spiritual warfare on a national scale. So, let us descend into Egypt and watch the God of Abraham go to war for His children. The first segment is: The Providence of the Pit: The Story of Joseph. Psalm One Hundred Five: verses sixteen through twenty-two. He called for a famine on the land of Canaan, cutting off their food supply. Then he sent a man to Egypt ahead of them— Joseph, who was sold as a slave. They bruised his feet with fetters and placed his neck in an iron collar. Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the Lord tested Joseph's character. Then Pharaoh sent for him and set him free; the ruler of the nation opened his prison door. Joseph was put in charge of all the king's household; he became ruler over all the king's possessions. He could instruct the king's aides as he pleased and teach the king's advisers. The psalmist begins this section by pulling back the curtain on natural disasters. "He called for a famine on the land of Canaan, cutting off their food supply." Notice the agency here. The famine wasn't an accident of weather patterns. God "called for" (qara) it. He summoned the famine like a servant. This...

Are the ten plagues just divine punishment? Or are they intended to form a people? In this episode, Dr. Dru Johnson sits down with Dr. Rick Wadholm and Pastor Dalton Avery, co-authors of Plagued by Faith, to explore a more layered vision of the plague narratives in Exodus. Rather than merely acts of judgment, the plagues are portrayed as formative, disruptive events that unmake Egypt's religious, political, and economic worldview—and detach Israel from it. The Nile River, Egypt's source of life, is turned to blood not only to confront Pharaoh, but to sever Israel's spiritual dependence on Egypt. The calendar is reset at Passover, reorienting the people's very sense of time and community. These acts weren't random—they were theological statements shaping Israel's identity, even while challenging Egypt's gods . As Dalton notes, “The Lord is not out here just doing violence for no reason, but there's redemptive heart, there's redemptive intent in every action of the Living God” . Rick adds, “Behold the face of God who sends plagues… somehow to offer a re-visioning of these stories as revealing this God”. We are listener supported.
