After another way too long hiatus, Brave Real Loving Human Radio is back with another episode of A Living Conversation. These personal episodes are the place where I can share what I'm learning and experiencing as I go through this healing journey with stage 4 lung cancer. I will share an update on how I've been doing, and then we will talk about an a-ha I had recently about "When I'm Better." This 13 minute episode will bring you up to date as well as leave you with a provocative question about what you're waiting on in your life. I also mention a YouTube video of a storytelling talk I did. If you want to watch it, here is the link. As always, I welcome your feedback on Facebook or via email (address in podcast).

There are teachers we meet in our lives that change us forever. I am fortunate to have had a few of those in my lifetime. Jennifer Leigh Selig is one of them. As an educator, depth psychologist, author, and publisher, Jennifer is one of those students who, as she says, "no teacher left behind," and as a result she now leaves none of her students behind either. Our conversation covered topics from Mary Oliver to Martin Luther King, Jr. And our the vulnerability of our soft sides showed throughout. Whether you're a teacher or a learner, I know you'll find something here for you in this new episode of Brave Real Loving Human Radio.

After a 4 month hiatus, Brave Real Loving Human Radio is back with another episode of A Living Conversation. These personal episodes are the place where I can share what I'm learning and experiencing as I go through this healing journey from stage 4 lung cancer. I will share a brief update on how I'm doing, but this episode is all about how I'm learning to be in a new relationship with my body. I share my new personal campaign I'm doing called "It's a Good Day to Have a Body Friday" and invite you into some of the challenging times I experienced this summer when I wasn't sure I agreed with that statement. I do talk candidly about suicide in this episode in case that is a concern for you. As always, I welcome your feedback on Facebook or via email (address in podcast).

With this episode, I'm starting a podcast within a podcast. The day after I published the first episode of Brave Real Loving Human Radio, my life was dramatically changed when I was faced with a significant health crisis. I have decided to create some special episodes where I can openly talk about this crisis and more importantly, how it's impacting me personally and what I'm learning during this journey. Episodes of A Living Conversation will be published as they're ready. This first episode is a little different due to the emotional nature of the content. I chose to script this episode and read it. I hope you'll forgive the lack of spontaneity. A Living Conversation is very personal for me and I'm sharing it for myself and for those that may be facing a healing journey like my own. This episode is titled "Being Present."

In Episode 3, we get to meet one of the wisest and kindest people I know, Katie Boyle. As a certified Forrest Yoga Instructor, Katie shares her story of how she responded to the call to get real with herself after listening to the whispers of her own body. She also shares how that self knowledge has led her to be brave and real as a new mother. Doug shares some of his favorites including a book by author Mark Nepo and music by two of his very favorite singer/songwriters, Joy Williams and Greg Holden.
