Lenny Sblendorio was one of the founders of the 1980's punk rock record label from New Jersey, Buy Our Records. He helped organize tours and promotions for the bands on the label, and played music of his own, joining Bedlam as their drummer. He was such an integral part of the Buy Our Records team, very early on he earned the nickname "The Captain". He continues to play music, as well as work at a landmark record store in Central Jersey, Randy Now's Man Cave. It was great to catch up with Lenny.
Mike Polilli has been playing drums for most of his life. Prolific, diverse, very skilled punk rock drummer. Currently putting on shows in a HANDFUL of different bands, including Alternative Tentacles Recording Artists, Buzzkill. I met Mike in the 80's at college, and we've remained good friends ever since. This conversation took place in 2016. Mike has continued to record and perform with Atom Driver and Defecting Grey in addition to Buzzkill reunions every once in a while, when all three members are on the same coast.
This is an interview I conducted in 2017, with JR, the lead singer from Rosemary's Babies.
Steve "Rhino" Gawryluk passed away recently. He was the guitar player for the New Jersey bands Bedlam and Hearse in the 1980s and 1990s respectively. One of the funniest, warm hearted characters I've ever had the honor to call a friend. In April 2016, he took a break from a local cribbage match to talk to me about the bands he played in, the music he made as well as some of the crazy times he had growing up in North Jersey in the 1970s and 80s.
This is an interview I did with Dave Scott Schwartzman, the drummer for Adrenalin OD, and many other bands, including No Democracy
This is a 2018 phone conversation with Pete Berkenbush. Pete played guitar for several bands in the early and mid 1980's New Jersey Hardcore Punk Scene.
I recently caught up with Rich Edmiston on the phone. He was there to see it all in the early days of the New Jersey Hardcore Punk scene of the 1980s. His teenage years consisted of playing in bands and going to classic punk / hardcore shows anywhere and as often as he could. He saw such classic acts as Johnny Thunders, The Misfits, and the Circle Jerks just to name a few. He played bass guitar in a few different bands before he joined the Air Force. Rich currently lives in Florida, where he raises his family and still listens to the loud and fast stuff whenever he can. Intro Music - Mischief Night - Adrenalin O.D. Outro Music - Sacred Denial - Sacred Denial
