On January 20, 2025, Donald Trump was inaugurated as president of the United States for a second term. Within an hour, CBP One, a program developed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to allow migrants to secure immigration appointments, was discontinued; migrants who accessed CBP One found that their appointments were canceled. That evening, he signed several executive orders relating to immigration, including blocking asylum seekers from entering the U.S., declaring a national emergency at the Mexico–U.S. border, and citing a public health risk posed by migrants through a lack of "comprehensive health information".

This morning, 8 hostages — 3 Israeli and 5 Thai — returned to Israel from Gaza where they were taken by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad on October 7, 2023. Agam Berger, 20, the final surveillance officer among seven young women taken hostage on October 7 was released from the northern Gaza Strip in a staged ceremony this morning. Fabian debriefs us on what we know about her health and describes the situation in the northern part of the Strip as the IDF allows residents to return there. Just before 1 pm, two other Israeli civilians were released from within a seething mob in Khan Younis: 29-year-old Arbel Yehoud, who was abducted from Kibbutz Nir Oz, and her fellow kibbutznik Gadi Moshe Mozes, who is 80. Fabian describes the utter chaos of their releases, along with five Thai nations who were freed in a separately mediated deal. We look ahead to Saturday's release of three further hostages and who may -- or may not -- be on the list, as well as future pullbacks by the IDF. Ainonow is an interdisciplinary and enigmatic artist focused on electronic music production. His musical journey began playing the viola in an orchestra at the age of nine, where he began to fall in love with music. He followed up his debut release with Bedlam, a deep neuro drum & bass song blending sinister soundscapes with aggressive beats and haunting melodies, alongside fellow artist Slaythoven. Now, he has released yet another single, Forlorn, a liquid roller drum & bass track that plays heavily with tension and release, combining intricate beats and ambient textures. With such a diverse background and range of influences, Ainonow's tracks traverse a broad spectrum of sonic landscapes. Combining elements of dark and heavy drum & bass, broken beat halftime and experimental bass music, he takes his listeners on a musical journey soaked in organic textures. As one of the most forward-thinking, rising artists in the world of underground electronic music, Ainonow's music speaks to the power of experimentation and the limitless possibilities of creative expression.
