This week we bring you the band Hickory. a folky band from North Jersey. We were absolutely blown away by these guys when they performed in our studio. Lots of laughs in this one too. The Watchers recently hit the 100-episode milestone. For two years, Jodie's been covering the North Jersey angle, and Andrea's been holding it down for South Jersey. So we figured it was finally time to bring in someone to represent Central Jersey. In this bonus episode, Jodie and Andrea had the absolute honor of sitting down with Yellowjackets co-creator Ashley Lyle (I know, right!?!), a proud Jersey native whose own childhood helped shape the tone and spirit of the show.We talked with Ashley about growing up in Jersey in the '90s, and how she and Bart have worked to bring Jersey authenticity to Yellowjackets. We also discussed the show's impeccable needle drops, the balance between the psychological and supernatural elements, and how they approached next week's season finale. Plus a whole lot more, including some behind-the-scenes stories you've probably never heard. If you're reading this, that means you've probably got your podcatcher of choice open right now. It would be SO helpful if you gave our little show a follow. If you like what you hear, you could even leave us a review.Follow:The Watchers on Instagram (@WatchersPodNJ)Andrea on Instagram (@AQAndreaQ)Jodie on Instagram (@jodie_mim)Thanks to Kitzy (@heykitzy) for the use of our theme song, "No Book Club."

Our longtime friend Ira Jersey is here for a bonus episode to discuss his club, Real Central New Jersey. Founded in early 2020 (what a fun time), RCNJ sought to bridge the divide between soccer in North Jersey and soccer in South Jersey. But what has the club learned along the way? How has it grown and stayed increasingly relevant in its local community? And, right off the bat, is it "ray-al" or "real?" Plus, the potential impact of promotion and relegation, the barriers to growth for small clubs, and much much more! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Spring has sprung, and so has a new season for the AFB Possibilities Podcast. As we kick-off this season, we'll be focusing in on AFB's Award winning documentary film Possibilities, which presents an authentic portrayal of life today for people who are blind, deafblind, or have low vision. The film was awarded this past weekend the Broader Vision Documentary Award at the Garden State Film Festival, and we're excited to share with you one of the featured voices in the film, New Jersey's own Krystal Allen. Recorded in 2024, AFB's own Melody Goodspeed joined Krystal for a conversation on the challenges people face when striving for independence, and the joys of shared experiences that blind people share across the world. Haling from Newark, New Jersey, Krystal is a leading community voice for people with vision loss and founded the nonprofit EyesLikeMine, which is rooted in the firm belief that “Vision loss doesn't break us, it builds…” She shares her own story and the work underway in North Jersey to breakdown misconceptions of blindness. A past fellow with AFB's Blind Leaders Development Program, she stresses the importance of mentoring and finding those pathways that open doors to independence. Formally the Inform & Connect podcast, the AFB Possibilities Podcast captures the real life experiences of people who are blind or have low vision and those working to make our world more inclusive and accessible. A production of the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB), listeners can learn more about the work of AFB by visiting www.afb.org. Erik has been in and around the beautiful game since his days as the Operations Director for Giants Stadium around year 2000. In that role, he got his first taste of professional soccer through the NY/NJ Metrostars, and the international teams that rolled through that area. Around 2008, he became the Managing Director for Red Bull NY and oversaw the development, opening, and operation of one of the US's best soccer-specific stadiums; Red Bull Arena. In 2012, he moved on to be the CEO in the successful reboot of the New York Cosmos in 2013. He oversaw international tours, championship teams, US Open Cup wins, and more. Around September of 2018, Stover Management and Consulting, LLC started up and Erik was involved in projects from Fox Soccer Academy (of Christian Fuchs fame), to consulting for Bundesliga teams, and something that is near and dear to my heart as a native Northern Jersey guy, the redevelopment of Hinchcliffe Stadium in Paterson, NJ. Erik was kind enough to carve out time in his day to jump on this humble production to talk about his journey in soccer and the recently announced "USL to Jersey" campaign. There are so many reasons to be excited about this project, and the announcement of USL's intention to go D1 only adds to it.

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.golongtd.comGood afternoon! Hey, New York Giants owner John Mara clearly took the advice of this independent longform site to chart his path forward into 2025. (We kid, we kid.) But yes, the Giants ultimately did decide to stick with both general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll as analyzed. Now, all these two must do is find a quarterback. No pressure. OK, so the Giants did not take one giant leap in ‘24 but — if we've learned anything in the NFL these last few years — it's that premium quarterback play can right your ship in a hurry. Schoen owns the No. 3 overall selection in the ‘25 draft. First up: free agency and potential trades. * Could the Giants realistically pry Super Bowl champion Matthew Stafford from the Los Angeles Rams? (Hey, it doesn't hurt to have Chad Hall on staff.) * If not, who's Plan B on the veteran market? * And then — come draft day — which passer would this franchise prefer: Miami's Cam Ward or Colorado's Shedeur Sanders? Everything in Giants Country hinges on these questions. The NFC East is absolutely loaded, too. New York better nail it. So, it's time to pod. All of the above is discussed at length with longtime Giants beat reporter Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com. Both of us have been talking to Giants sources and try to put our heads together to figure exactly what this franchise will do at the most important position in sports. Phenomenal insight from Art. I think you'll come away from this podcast with a full understanding of where this team stands… with strong hints at what's coming next. The full hour-plus is available to Go Long subscribers.Audio is above. When the pediatrician placed the measuring tape around her infant's head and noted, “His head is a little small,” Joanne De Simone knew that motherhood wouldn't be as she had dreamt. After a devastating diagnosis, she was not prepared to raise a child with life-limiting brain malformation – and then her second child was diagnosed with autism. Joanne De Simone is a graduate of Hunter College with degrees in dance and special education. After dancing professionally, she dedicated her life to teaching children with disabilities and supporting families. “It's realizing that we live simultaneously in love and grief. In the end, dance teaches us not only how to move freely through pain but also how to fall and recover.” Her story will grip your heart as she shares how this struggle drove her to reconnect with the lessons she learned as a modern dancer. Special educator Joanne De Simone bears all in this raw and transformative memoir that captures how she used lessons of modern dance in her journey through motherhood with two children with disabilities. Inspired by her experience performing José Limón's There Is a Time, based on Ecclesiastes 3, each chapter of Fall and Recovery details a dance lesson and the dichotomy of parenting children with disabilities. Over time, Joanne discovers that surviving motherhood isn't a matter of strength, bravery, or faith. It's about linking your past experiences and creating your own purpose. It's realizing that we live simultaneously in love and grief. In the end, dance teaches Joanne not only how to move freely through pain but also how to fall and recover. Fall and Recovery Joanne is a special education advocate for the Alliance of Private Special Education Schools of North Jersey. Her writing has appeared in the Washington Post, Exceptional Parent Magazine, and the Rumpus among other publications. She is a contributing author to “Barriers and Belonging: Personal Narratives of Disabilities.” Joanne and her son, Sebastian, were instrumental in a legislative change allowing students with intellectual disabilities to participate in NCAA D3 intercollegiate sports. Joanne has been featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer, on HuffPo Live, CNN, and GMA3.

Put on your masks because today's show is so full of gaslighting you'll choke. Even the left is demanding answers to what's been flying in the skies over NY and North Jersey over the last weeks and official Washington and the Pentagon came out yesterday to say - whatever you're seeing and recording on your phones and watching on your news - nope, it's not real. Meanwhile the IG Report on January 6th was released and depending on what news you listen to, the findings were a nothing burger or raise even more questions. Stigall unpacks it all with Julie Kelly. Some interesting culture-meets-sports stories have popped this week and that's why we called Kevin Keitzman of "Kevin Keitzman Has Issues" podcast fame to help us unpack the controversies surrounding Caitlyn Clark, Brett Farve, and the new gig for Bill Belichick. -Enter to win a trip to Washington, DC for the 2025 Inauguration of Donald Trump. On this episode of the Prophecy News Podcast, end times things are absolutely heating up over our heads, and it's getting hotter by the minute. Are they drones?, are they UFOs?, what on Earth are they? Before you answer that question, know this. The bulk of these sightings that have been occurring over North Jersey the past 4 weeks are also showing up close to local military installations like the Picatinny Arsenal Military Base. If they are drones of an enemy nation, and it boggles the mind to even consider that possibility, that's really bad news. If it's not a foreign country's drones, and they're UFOs, that's even worse. If they're US military crafts, and the government is allowing citizens to be subjected to it night after night with no explanation, that would be a very scary harbinger of impending civil war along the lines of Leave The World Behind. Join us today as we ask the questions no one else is asking, and turn to the King James Bible for the answers!
