Just a couple of rounds of the beginners version of Salt Creek from SK's PLP volume 1. This is played on the new Tanglewood http://www.tanglewoodguitars.co.uk/products/acoustic/sundance/tw6070/TW60SCVSE.html which isn't a flat-picking guitar but I thought, what the hell... I have a metronome ticking away at 230 bpm which I think is getting somewhere close to where SK plays it, but maybe not yet close enough.

simple is best, well i,m at this tune since i started dabblin in flatpickin, actually it was watch,n rick williams version got me hooked, and he had a tutoriol on it witch i tought would be handy to work out well that did,nt happen, so after much try,n to play the fancy rw way i gave up and learned it this way, at least i,ll be able to play it at a jam, it,s a bluegrass tune but i know i cant get that blue grass accent on it

A song that I've wanted to learn for a long time, and I've heard a couple of wonderful versions of it here. Here is my interpretation of this lovely melody.

I made this video with the collaboration of my friend and great fiddler Gary Sizemore. I used the guitar arrangement from Joe McColley, and also recorded the mandolin.
This is another great collaboration of my friend and awesome fiddler Gary Sizemore I used the guitar arrangement from Scott Fore, and made my own arrangement for the mandolin.

Just playing around with one of my favorites. The rhythm track & 3rd lead pass is with my D18 GE. The 1st 2nd & 4th passes are with my uncle Carl's ཹ D28. I recorded this just to see how those two guitars sound together.
