Our beloved Cayle Sain has passed away suddenly and tragically at the age of 31. Cayle was a pillar of the hardcore punk music community, a master-level drummer and a great friend to anyone he so much as spoke to. If you knew him he loved you, and he'll live forever through his countless recorded performances and beautiful memories he made with everyone he encountered. We were lucky enough to have convinced him to join us for a short interview in December of last year, for what was supposed to be a special prelude to the eventual series finale of HardLore. Cayle is survived by his single mother, Kathy, his brother, Taylor and his girlfriend, Hailey. We'd like to support them in this trying time and give back to the family that gave us such a bright light in the world. The funds from the GoFundMe below will contribute to his memorial and his family. Cayle Sain forever and always. Thank you for all of your love and support. Welcome to Tip Of The Week #10: Working Well: Tips for Improving Your Wellness While on the Job. In this episode I share how tips to create wellness at the workplace. My biggest tip to be sure you have great ergonomics. Always be sure that your elbows, hips, and knees are at a 90 degree angle to reduce stress and tension on your muscles. See more tips below! Take breaks: Sitting for prolonged periods of time can be detrimental to your health. Make sure to take breaks every 30 minutes to stretch your legs, get some fresh air and give your eyes a rest. Stay hydrated: Drinking enough water is essential for maintaining good health. Keep a water bottle at your desk and sip frequently throughout the day. Practice good posture: Sitting up straight can help prevent back pain and improve circulation. Make sure your chair and desk are ergonomically designed to support good posture. Take the stairs: Instead of taking the elevator, opt for the stairs whenever possible. This will help you get some exercise and burn some extra calories. Pack healthy snacks: Instead of reaching for sugary or salty snacks, pack healthy options like fresh fruit, nuts, and seeds. This will help you stay energized and focused throughout the day. Practice deep breathing: Taking a few deep breaths can help reduce stress and improve focus. Take a few minutes each day to practice deep breathing exercises. Take a walk: Getting outside for a quick walk can help clear your mind and improve your mood. Take a quick walk during your lunch break or schedule a walking meeting. Stretch: Taking a few minutes each day to stretch can help prevent muscle tension and improve flexibility. Incorporate stretching into your breaks or during conference calls. Practice mindfulness: Taking a few minutes each day to practice mindfulness can help reduce stress and improve focus. Try a meditation app or take a quick mindfulness break during your workday. Get enough sleep: Getting enough sleep is essential for good health and productivity. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night and establish a regular bedtime routine. Is your Canadian private practice brand new? Are you unfamiliar with the business side of running a Canadian private practice? When you are starting out, it can be daunting to make sense of sales tax protocols and how to write a great Psychology Today profile. In this episode, I do a live consultation with Cayle and discuss various tips and tricks to help her establish the foundations of her new Canadian private practice. MEET CAYLE FIALA Cayle is an educator and therapist with a passion for art, inspiring creativity, and building meaningful connections. She is currently in the process of building her own private practice in rural Saskatchewan. Cayle's professional title is The Rural Therapist. Learn more about Cayle on her Instagram. In this episode: Give your practice its own name Julia's sales tax tip How to word your Psychology Today profile Offer group therapy at a lower rate Give your practice its own name It can be tempting to use your name for your Canadian private practice, as you may have already made a name for yourself. However, give your business its own name. This will make it easier to market or sell one day while establishing it in its own right. ‘If at some point down the road you want to sell your business, it will be a lot harder to sell your business if it's your name.' – Julia Smith Therefore, consider your long-term goals and how your Canadian private practice may develop when you are choosing its name. Julia got an HST number as soon as she started her Canadian private practice to minimize business worry, but if you know you are not going to be earning more than 30K, you do not need to get an HST number. When you do get an HST number – and if you start with one – it can be very beneficial to include the tax within the price to separate it. ‘That HST number is for your sales tax, the 15% … with Jane App you can easily include in your price the 15% sales tax so that when clients get their invoice it's already included in it, so that when you give everything to your accountant it will show your sales tax as well as the money that you charged for therapy, and it's really easily divided.' – Julia Smith How to word your Psychology Today profile The first two sentences on your Psychology Today profile matter the most. In the first paragraph, discuss: Their pain points What they are currently feeling How you can help them What they will feel like after completing therapy with you In the second paragraph, discuss: The different therapy modalities that you offer How these modalities will help your client In the third paragraph, discuss: Your work history The level of your therapeutic experience Your price Offer group therapy at a lower rate If you would like to have reduced hourly rates, offer the reduced rate for group therapy. She loves helping families create healthier habits. Her family struggled with this in their home for years. Cayle had zero time and energy to pour into creating healthier changes in their home. Exhaustion, running kids, work, weekend plans, and social events all kept her from making changes she knew she needed to. She wanted to be a positive role model for her kids and feel better about herself, but didn't know where to start and felt overwhelmed. Fast forward to months, pounds, many proud moments later... she came up with a system to get her family out of the slump and into habits that stuck. Cayle shares with others what changed her family's health and has them living a healthy life of energy, happiness, and confidence. Today Patty welcomes her friend Cayle Alldredge, Health and Wellness Coach and host of the Healthier Habits For Busy Families podcast. Cayle ran a successful massage therapy business, but when Covid hit, it also hit the business. It made her rethink things and make some very big changes. Not only did she make a complete change professionally, but she overhauled the way her family approached eating, exercise and taking care of themselves. This turned into a thriving venture of its own, where Cayle teaches others how to do the same, and transform their lives for the better. Check out Cayle's podcast here! Whether you are on the verge of something new like Cayle or holding yourself back because you don’t think you’re qualified, imposter syndrome is a real feeling and it can be detrimental to a business. But in this episode, Cayla is about to blow your mind about imposter syndrome because it can actually be a good thing! In today’s quick discussion, Cayla explains what imposter syndrome is, why it is a good thing to experience and provides actionable steps to take to overcome it. With her tips, you’ll find yourself pushing through it and learning so much on the way. Don’t forget that Cayla is hosting a Cash In With Confidence 30-day mini-course that is focused on helping you increase your sales in 30 days by just using video. She teaches you her selling on-camera formula and gives you content every single day to post. Head over to https://www.instagram.com/cayla.craft/ (Instagram) or her https://www.mommymillionaire.co/ (website) to check it out. It’s only available for the next couple of days! Cayla just rebranded the Millionairess Society to become a coaching membership. Cayla says the first time she hired a business coach, everything changed in her life, all because she had somebody looking at her life and helping her find the blind spots and gain a new perspective on her past and her future. Cayla wants to make coaching affordable for everyone and invites you to join this coaching membership no matter where you are in your life right now; coaching will serve you. If you are ready for your life to be transformed, head on over to http://www.mommymillionaire.co/coaching (www.mommymillionaire.co/coaching) to join this beautiful monthly membership, and if you click on this https://blueprint.mykajabi.com/offers/LEVWnkL2/checkout?coupon_code=CAYLA (link) or use the word Cayla when checking out, you can save 25% off your first month of membership. You will learn: [2:35] - Cayla is on the verge of something new, but she is experiencing imposter syndrome like never before. [3:43] - The Dunning-Kruger Effect is a cognitive bias in which people are smarter and more capable than they really are. Cayla’s friend introduced her to this term. [4:28] - On the flip side, if you experience imposter syndrome, you have very high self-awareness. [7:55] - You always want to question what you know, even if you are an expert. Always look for ways you are doing things right and make sure they are still right. [8:41] - A very effective strategy is to ask other people for feedback. You don’t want to ask people who are not in the same industry because they aren’t the best to take advice from. [9:29] - Cayla’s third tip for overcoming imposter syndrome is to keep learning and keep practicing. If you ever find yourself assuming you know it all, you have to dig deeper. [10:10] - What are you doing to keep leveling up? [10:57] - If you think you are the type to overestimate your ability, Cayla advises to get quiet for a moment and commit to learning everything you can about your talent. [11:41] - Imposter syndrome can actually mean you know what you’re talking about. It could be a good thing. [12:33] - Go out there and focus on giving your gifts and talents! My guest today is Caylie Price, owner of Better Business Better Life where she teaches how to bring tons of clients into your business and actually be profitable without burning yourself out. Caylie teaches high-impact, no-cost Facebook strategies that help you build your confidence, clients and cash. Every time I talk to Caylie, I’m like, “I know, I know. I need to add livestreaming to my arsenal.” And then I don’t do it. Because I put too much pressure on myself to be good at it. But what I love about Caylie’s perspective is that being “good at it” is not required. In fact, it can have the opposite effect of what you’re going for. And I’m so excited to have Caylie on the show today because as much as I’m fascinated by my guests who have massively scaled their businesses into the multiple six and seven figures with paid ads, most of us aren’t there yet. We’re still organically building our audiences, figuring out how to find them online and what resonates and what doesn’t, aligning how we describe our solutions with how they describe their problems. Most of us don’t either have the money or the capacity for financial risk to use paid advertising to speed that process along, and that’s what Caylie’s here to share with you today - how you can use Facebook in a way to get more organic reach, build your audience, build a rapport, build trust and get clients. Cayle and I are talking about: How Caylie got started as a business coach in the online space. Why Caylie chooses to keep her business as a profitable side hustle. How Caylie structures her day and manages her time. Why planning is so much more than just being organized, and why it’s critical to your success. Why you should be live-streaming on social media in 2020 (even if no one is watching you live). How to figure out what to talk about on your live-streams. The real purpose of live-streaming (it’s not what you might think)! How to prepare to go live. How to use live-streaming as market-research. Caylie’s advice for someone who is struggling to get traction in growing their own business. The belief Caylie had to change about herself to get where she is today. My favorite quotes from Caylie: “If you're going to put in the effort to create a piece of content, why not use the method (live-streaming) that Facebook says ‘hey, we're going to reward you for doing this,’ and get the results: get more people on your email list, build that relationship faster and get more sales.” “Being able to talk to and connect with my audience is so powerful.” “People connect with me because I'm approachable. Because I haven't got that formal air and a barrier up to connecting with me.” “You are awesome as you are. There's no reason to try and be someone other than who you are." “Take action and keeping going because you will get there.” “It's not failure, it's learning, it's feedback and it will get you closer to success every time.” Resources mentioned in this episode: How to get more clients from social media without increasing your workload Bio: Caylie Price is the owner of Better Business Better Life. She teaches you how to bring tonnes of clients into your business and actually be profitable, without throwing yourself under the exhaustion bus. Recognised as a leader in her field, Caylie teaches high-impact, no-cost Facebook strategies that explode entrepreneur and business owner confidence, clients and cash. Her clients consistently use Facebook Live to sell everything from $4 affiliate products through to $997+ digital programs and services. In just a few short years, Caylie has grown her business to achieve $20k months and lifestyle freedom. Charlie Hager is a singer/songwriter from Nashville, Tn. He credits the majority of his musical abilities to his father, James Bernard, a longtime West Virginia bluegrass player from the 1940's to his death in 1981. His writing styles and influences come mostly from Texas based singer/songwriters from Billy Jo Shaver, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and J.J. Cayle. In his youth, Charlie, decided to not attend a large high school in Nashville and instead moved out the the Tennessee countryside to a small rural high school in Trousdale County which instilled his small town values.
On Episode #15 of “CAN YOU HEAR ME, LONG BEACH?” It was just six years ago that the Cambodia Town Film Festival was a fledgling event struggling to get films to show. Today, it's one of the cultural highlights of the year in Long Beach and beyond. We spoke with festival co-founders praCh Ly and Caylee So. praCh Ly has been described as the first Cambodian hip hop star, his album "Dalama" went No. 1 in Cambodia, 20 years ago. He's not only a founder of the festival but a producer on "In the Life of Music," the feature-length film that opens the festival and that is Cambodia's official entry for Academy Award consideration. As if that wasn't enough, on Saturday, praCh will be performing "Dalama" in its entirety, with help from lots of friends. Prach spoke with Sarah Bennett about the festival and about getting back on stage, perhaps for the last time. Besides being a co-founder of the Cambodia Town Film Festival, Cayle is the co-writer, co-director and co-producer of “In the Life of Music.” She has had a circuitous journey to her craft, one that included two stints in Iraq as a member of the U.S. military. She spoike with Steve Lowery about the painful moment she told her parents she was joining the military, as well as what responsibilities Cambodian artists have and don’t have when it comes to producing work about the genocide. She also talks about, perhaps, her most amazing accomplishment, giving birth to, and raising, two children while producing, directing and writing a full-length feature movie. Not surprisingly, Caylee was wearing a Wonder Woman T-shirt while being interviewed. 1:06 PraCh Ly talks about his journey to being a No. 1 Cambodian hip hop artist 31:06 Ly shifting from music to film and starting the Cambodia Town Film Festival 47:24 Caylee So talks about making “In the Life of Music”, and her journey to get there 1:01:37 How So went from the armed forces into filmmaking 1:15:48 So’s experience being directed by her dramatic 2-year-old
