In this episode of the GEFCO podcast, we’re staying with the theme of mental health and wellbeing, both of which have been central to the subject matter of our last two 2020 podcasts. It’s so important for businesses to keep wellbeing at the top of their agenda as we head into what is likely to be a long and difficult winter for many employees and their families. Our particular focus this time is men’s mental health - and GEFCO’s HR Director Helen Grover is joined on this podcast by an all-male panel that includes a former professional rugby player for Wasps, the founder of blOKes mental health initiative and one of GEFCO’s own Compliance Operators. Each has their own experiences of poor mental health to share with listeners, along with their understanding of the triggers that affect them the most and the tools they have found helpful in regaining balance.Listeners will also hear how they can look out for and learn to spot the signs of stress, anxiety and depression in their friends, colleagues and loved ones and why self-awareness is so important for anyone who wants to start taking better control of their mental health this winter.
Every business has been affected differently by the Coronavirus crisis - some will have carried on working with health & safety adjustments, some will have shifted their teams to work remotely and others will have made the difficult decision to furlough staff. For those with responsibility for leading their people through the crisis, it has certainly been a challenging year - but it’s also one that has provided valuable leadership lessons. In this episode, leaders from GEFCO join with a mental health expert and a business coach to discuss how Covid-19 has reshaped business culture, created positive team experiences, and reinforced the importance of employee engagement.
The coronavirus pandemic has caused many of us to focus on our physical health - but it’s just as important for us to keep an eye on our mental health. In this episode, Wellbeing Initiative Award winner GEFCO explores how those of us working in the logistics industry can monitor and maintain our mental wellbeing as we live through unprecedented times.
