Get More For Coaches author Joby Slay conducts another interview from Jacksonville University Team Camp with football coaches from the African continent. Alan Johnson played football for the Zimbabwe National and professionally in Africa and Canada before transitioning into coaching while playing in South Africa. He has had coaching stints with the Zimbabwe youth national program and currently is the Director there of the Football Academy at Harare International School. Thabani Sithole came to the United States on a tennis scholarship and went on to found College Connect International helping young men from Africa in seeking higher education opportunities through football (soccer) in the United States. Alan and Thabani both serve with Ten Toes Africa an organization founded by a mutual friend and teammate of Joby's that organizes soccer programs for kids and assists kids in Zimbabwe with pursuing educational opportunities locally. We learn about both of these men and their organizations and hear about the most influential coaches in their life and how that has impacted what they are doing in coaching today. We discuss the importance of education with athletics in Africa, and also share the severe challenges facing student-athletes on the continent and how they are working to help improve the opportunities for these young people. Coach "Mac" - Interview with National Championship Coach Brian McMahon of Palm Beach Atlantic University Men's Soccer

Joby heads back to Palm Beach Atlantic University to interview Brian McMahon who is entering his 6th season as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Coach "Mac", as he is known, has over 20 years of collegiate coaching experience as a head coach. He won a NAIA Collegiate National Championship with Belhaven University before arriving at Palm Beach Atlantic University. In his 2nd season at the helm of the Sailfish Men's Soccer Program, Coach "Mac" led his team to the NCAA Elite 8 National Tournament appearance, losing a 5-4 thriller in the last second of the game to the eventual National Champions. In 2018 the Sailfish dropped just one game the entire season posting the highest winning percentage in NCAA DII. Coach "Mac" was named the Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year in consecutive seasons which was a first for the Sunshine State Conference. Brian has also received numerous other coaching honors including United Soccer Coaches National Coach of the Year and South Region Coach of the Year in different seasons, Palm Beach County Sports Commission Coach of the Year and NAIA Coach of the Year as well as serving on many national and regional soccer committees.
