Discontinuity II - Gutenberg Is the second episode of a series of DJ Sessions conceptualized as a Journey into the earth, combining Deep Progressive, most of it from the Belle Époque of the Progressive House (end of the 90s, early 00's), with modern Deep Atmospheric Techno, known also as Ambient Techno. The seismic waves as a metaphor of the sound pressure and the deepness of the music. - Los estudios de geofísicos y sismólogos en la historia han demostrado que el interior de la Tierra es un medio no homogéneo, configurado por capas sucesivas hasta llegar al núcleo. Los estudios de geofísicos y sismólogos en la historia han demostrado que el interior de la Tierra es un medio no homogéneo, configurado por capas sucesivas hasta llegar al núcleo. Las superficies de encuentro entre estas capas -corteza, manto y núcleo, y sus divisiones internas- son las llamadas discontinuidades, zonas donde se ha observado que las ondas sísmicas experimentan inesperados cambios de velocidad y de dirección. La discontinuidad de Mohorovičić (o Moho) es una de las más superficiales; separa la Corteza terrestre del Manto Exterior. Las ondas sísmicas al atravesarla experimentan un brusco aumento de velocidad. Recuerdo la misteriosa atracción que me producía leer ese nombre cuando lo estudiábamos en la secundaria. Zona de los temibles sismos profundos, pero también, lugar en el que algunas ondas toman impulso en el oscuro camino hacia el centro de la tierra. - Hace bastante tiempo que vengo investigando el vínculo entre dos estilos que me parecen bastante compatibles: El Progressive House y el Techno Atmosférico. Puntualmente, el Deep Progressive (al que me gusta llamar De La Época de Oro, fines de los 90, principios de los 2000, alrededor del 2001), es un estilo que me marcó muchísimo, enseñándome las aristas más oscuras y profundas de un género bastante amplio. Del Progressive surgen algunos de los artistas más célebres de la música electrónica y ha atravesado varias etapas; sin embargo, el Deep Dark Progressive fue quedando sepultado por las paulatinas transformaciones de la corriente mainstream. Hoy muchos elementos, actitudes y atmósferas del Deep Dark Progressive están siendo recuperadas por un estilo en el que me vengo sumergiendo desde hace varios años, el Techno Atmosférico (o Ambient Techno), que en muchos aspectos es una suerte de integración de muchas áreas de la música electrónica: Conjuga elementos del Ambient, Drone, IDM, Techno -oscuro-, Dub Techno incluso Progressive y Deep House.
