Episode #10: COVID-19, Solo Travelling and Graduation? Let's talk!

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 18, 2020 47:06

In this episode I sat alone and rambled about everything that is going on right now. I talked a little about how much stockpiling has upset me, and how we can ensure we aren't contributing to the uncertainty and scaremongering that is happening quite a lot right now. I also discussed my recent trip, coping with fatigue and just things that have been going on in my life at the moment. I hope you enjoy!Due to the current situation I don't know when the next episode will be but I will definitely be back some time in the near future. In the meantime, please look after yourselves and use the time that you have (if you are blessed with any) wisely!

Episode #9: How many times a week do you exercise?

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 23, 2020 74:15

For the 9th episode, I invited @tigress.lifts who works at @female_pt to discuss all things health and fitness! We talked about the lack of facilities and spaces for Muslim women (and women generally) to exercise as well as the lack of their use by Muslim women too! We also talked about motivating yourself to get into exercise or the gym, as well as dieting and nutrition. It was so great talking to a personal trainer and someone who has gone into the fitness industry in order to represent Muslim women and learning so much from her! I hope you guys enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it and chatting to @tigress.lifts :)I will be back next Sunday, as always at 8 PM (GMT)!

Episode #8: Re-building my Confidence and Self Esteem

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 16, 2020 33:05

In this (shorter than usual) episode I talked all about my journey with confidence. I discussed how I had gone from being quite carefree, to having it destroyed only to spend years re-building that confidence. I also touched on what confidence means to me and how it can affect your daily life. This was a spontaneous (ish) episode with very little thought or planning behind it as I have had such a busy week, I hope you enjoy it regardless! Please do subscribe, rate my Podcast and leave a review with your thoughts! I will be back next Sunday 8PM (GMT), as always, and with another wonderful guest :)

Episode #7: Misogyny and attitudes towards Muslim women

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 9, 2020 47:20

In this episode I invited @qoulbismillah to have a little chat about Muslim women and attitudes towards Muslim women in society. We are often always seen as two sides of the extreme, amongst Muslims and non-Muslims and so we just voiced our frustrations around this. We talked about misogyny and the issue of double standards in many Muslim communities and our opinions on these. It was quite a spontaneous chat and so may be a little all over the place but I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed chatting with @qoulbismillah! I also hope that you are able to learn something from us whether you are a young Muslim woman or a Muslim man who knows little about the experiences of Muslim women.
