Many times, God does not give us detailed instructions for every decision or tell us exactly what to do next. Instead, He gives us abilities, resources, opportunities, wisdom, and responsibility, and expects us to use them to figure out how to move forward. God wants us to think, create, make decisions, take initiative, and produce results with what He has entrusted to us. Rather than continually waiting for God to tell us exactly what to do, there are times when God is waiting for us to act. Part of spiritual maturity is learning how to faithfully use what God has already given us to make wise decisions. __________ Genesis 2:19 NLT, Matthew 25:14-27 NLT __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________
The title of this teaching might raise a few eyebrows. Most of you would probably quote me Hebrews 9:26 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. That is correct. Man dies once….physically. However, in Revelation 2:11, The Lord Jesus said to the church in Smyrna, He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. Please note the reference that Jesus makes to the second death. There is a death that is far more serious than physical death. It is the second death. The death of a soul separated from the very presence of God and Jesus Christ throughout all eternity. Only He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. I'll return to the identity of those who overcome in a moment. Both you and I want to be certain that we are amongst those who overcome. Are there any more references to this second death in Scripture? Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power,j but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Quite sobering. Those who die the second death are cast into the lake of fire. Those who are fearful (cowards), unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters and liars shall suffer the second death. Those who suffer the second death for all eternity are those who chose to reject believing in Jesus Christ as Lord on earth.Who are those who overcome and escape this second death? 1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?Reader, are you an overcomer? In the latest episode of The Line Podcast, recorded on August 7th, 2026, Matt Gurney is joined by guest host Scott Stinson, filling in for Jen Gerson. They begin with the latest twists in Canada-U.S. relations, asking just how much Prime Minister Mark Carney can concede to the Americans before the political costs become too high at home. Both hosts suspect the answer is probably more than many Canadians would expect. They also discuss how fortunate Carney is to be making these decisions while facing relatively weak opposition, with Pierre Poilievre enduring another difficult week. Matt explains why the Conservative leader continues to struggle to gain traction. This episode is brought to you by Cameco. In nuclear energy, timelines and costs matter. Incomplete designs carry real risk of delays and cost overruns. That's why the AP1000 reactor is the right choice for Canada: it is already operating today and ready now to deliver the power we need, with 100 percent Canadian ownership and strong participation from Canadian suppliers. If we are serious about building Canada and powering it on time and on budget, the choice is clear. The AP1000 reactor is the only option that delivers. To larn more, visit ap1000.cameco.com.The conversation then shifts to Ontario politics, where many of the same themes are playing out. It should be a quiet summer at Queen's Park, but instead the Ford government finds itself taking hits from all directions, including from an opposition party that doesn't currently have a permanent leader. Matt and Scott discuss why the Ontario NDP appears so adrift. New Democratic governments are commonplace elsewhere in Canada, so why does the party remain unable to break through in Ontario, even with Doug Ford leading the PCs and the Liberals still searching for direction? Matt has a theory. This episode is also brought to you by Fractional Execs Canada. Need help with a serious business problem? Canada is home to researchers making breakthrough discoveries every day. But bringing a new therapy from the lab to patients takes more than great science. It also requires specialists who know how to manufacture complex products, navigate regulatory approval, and help new treatments be integrated into the health-care system. Too often, that expertise leaves Canada before the work is done.BioCanRx has supported hands-on training for more than 900 trainees over the past decade, but without a strong domestic industry, retention becomes a challenge. So how do we keep these highly-skilled people? Next time we'll talk about how changing what we incentivize can maximize the impact of research money Canada already spends to sustain more drug development here in Canada. Shawn Stevenson On The Science of Family Meals, Oxytocin, and LongevityYour dinner table might be the most overlooked biohack in your house. This episode reveals the exact minimum dose of family meals that lowers a child's risk of obesity, the hormone your body releases every time you eat with people you love, and why teaching your kids to cook may protect their metabolism for life.Host Dave Asprey sits down with Shawn Stevenson, founder of The Model Health Show and author of the bestselling Eat Smarter Family Cookbook series. Shawn spent over two decades studying nutritional science and functional medicine after recovering from advanced degenerative disc disease at age 20, and he has become one of the most trusted voices in health media for turning peer-reviewed research into real-world family habits.Shawn and Dave break down the science of community eating, including new research on oxytocin, nervous system regulation, and metabolism that shows why sitting down together beats eating alone every time. They cover the four biological drives running your behavior, the connection between family culture and longevity, and how simple shifts like humming, breathwork, and intentional meals can support brain optimization and anti-aging at a cellular level. This conversation also dives into the five love languages hidden inside food, a bio-photon DNA experiment that reframes how energy moves between people, and the exact number of meals per week that changes a child's health trajectory. You'll Learn:The minimum effective dose of family meals per week that lowers childhood obesity and disordered eatingHow oxytocin and a regulated nervous system change what happens at the dinner tableWhy teaching kids to cook protects their metabolism and prevents dependence on ultra-processed foodHow the five love languages show up in how you cook, serve, and share foodThe bio-photon DNA experiment that shows how human energy fields affect the world around youWhy culture is something your family creates, not just something you inheritHow humming and breathwork practices can shift your nervous system and even change your voiceDave Asprey is a four-time New York Times bestselling author, founder of Bulletproof Coffee, and the father of biohacking. It never hurts to ask — the worst you'll hear is “no,” and even that doesn't equal failure. In today's episode, “How Many Times Did You Courageously Ask for Something Today? ☞ ABOUT THIS MESSAGE Jim opened this Father's Day message with disarming honesty, admitting that on his drive to church, God surfaced an unresolved hurt he thought he'd buried. Drawing from Matthew 18:21-35, he unpacked Jesus' parable: a man forgiven a debt equivalent to 200,000 years of wages immediately chokes a fellow servant over 100 days' pay. Jim's key insight: forgiveness isn't a case-by-case verdict but a posture, a lifestyle shaped by the staggering grace we've received. Unforgiveness doesn't punish the offender; it tortures the one who holds it, like drinking poison and waiting for someone else to die. The cross is our "ground wire" where betrayal and pain have somewhere to go. The invitation: release what you cannot repay, and trust the God who said "It is finished." ☞ LOVE THAT LASTS BOOKLET https://www.summitchurch.online/_api/public/file/download/bond_d29ce0a2c80e497db2ef4754dd5e4012 ☞ BIBLE APP NOTES https://www.bible.com/events/49624565 ☞ GROUP LEADER GUIDE https://page.church.tech/4afaca71 ☞ NEXT STEPS

How do we move beyond simply checking a box and develop a genuine hunger for God's Word?Drawing from their own journeys, Ken, Joel, and Kady discuss how Scripture has shaped their lives, why the Old Testament still matters, and how reading the Bible consistently can transform the way we think, pray, and hear from God.Ken shares the Bible reading plans that influenced him throughout his life, explains the value of reading entire books of the Bible in one sitting, and offers practical advice for anyone wanting to build a lifelong habit of engaging with Scripture.Kady also shares her testimony of asking God for a deeper hunger for His Word—and how that prayer radically changed her relationship with the Bible.Together, they explore:Why reading the whole Bible mattersThe difference between information and transformationHow the Holy Spirit helps illuminate ScriptureWhy the Old Testament is still essential for believersThe value of reading large portions of ScriptureHow modern technology affects our ability to read deeplyPractical Bible reading plans and habitsWhy physical Bibles still have unique valueHow Scripture shapes spiritual maturityDeveloping a lifelong hunger for God's WordThis episode is both practical and encouraging for new believers, seasoned Christians, pastors, and anyone who wants to grow deeper in their relationship with God through His Word.
