Marianne Kilkenny founder of Women for Living in Community joins Lets Share Housing on Monday, April 9th.  Marianne is trailblazing the way toward shared housing in Asheville NC: “Community living based on the guidance of feminine desires for relatedness, commitment, laughter and sharing.”  Women are the creators of community. It’s about women creating communities with other women, their families, their male or female partners, or alone.  It is women at the helm guiding towards the goal of camaraderie and mutual support while living in proximity to others." Marianne and host Zoe will be discussing the shared housing movement sweeping the nation. A highlight of the program will include a recap of NBC's real-life Golden Girls segment featuring boomers Marianne and her housemates. They will also discuss the shared housing movement including Marianne's inspiration for shared housing, anecdotes and resources including conferences planned for shared housing explorers.

Yvonne lives in shared housing in the Pacific NW since moving from the the Napa Valley. Our conversation will focus on the shared housing community Yvonne found when she relocated to the Pacific NW.Yvonne is one of the interviewee's we've featured on youTube. She is the guest on a short film, talking about what she enjoys about shared housing. Yvonne is one of several women who live in a shared housing commmunity in Portland, Oregon. There are many communities of shared housing across the nation. Lets Share Housing is excited to help listeners explore first hand more about the experience from an actual participant. Yvonne is a thoughtful resident who finds shared housing to be a perfect fit for her lifestyle.

Author Annamarie Pluhar has written Sharing Housing: A Guidebook for Finding and Keeping Good Housemates.   She offers workshops and coaching that support people in their quest for good housemates. Her website www.sharinghousing.com is a companion to her book “Sharing Housing, A Guidebook for Finding and Keeping Good Housemates”. The website offers commentary, links to resources, an interviewing checklist and downloadable worksheets for homesharers everywhere.  Annamarie Pluhar became an expert on sharing housing through personal experience combined with expertise in group process and interpersonal relations. A facilitator and training professional, she has worked with clients in Fortune 100 firms as well as non-profits. Early in her career, she was a consultant with Rath & Strong Inc., on the vanguard of the Total Quality movement. She has trained hundreds of cross-functional teams in soft skills and teamwork. Currently, Annamarie designs and delivers training for corporate clients and federal agencies. She is a graduate of Vassar College and holds a Masters in Divinity from the Episcopal Divinity School. Annamarie is the owner of Pluhar Consulting.

Kathleen Holland was the Board Chair of Golden Girls Homes, a non-profit that helps women in the Twin Cities create affordable housing. Founded in 2001 by Connie Skillingstad, Golden Girls Homes helps women in Minneapolis and St Paul spend less of their income on housing related expenses by sharing housing with other women.Kathleen is living the shared housing dream since her migration across the country.
