Chris writes "My wife and I were on a car trip back in February. I had 12 hours of driving to do and wanted a new podcast to fill the time with. I was looking for something paranormal or supernatural and came across Sasquatch chronicles. I downloaded a few and off we went. After the first few episodes I started hearing specific details that would remind me of my grandfathers farm. After a few more episodes my wife looks at me and says, “Don't some of these sound like your ghost stories?” I had been thinking the same thing too. So after 6 months of listening to the archives I've finally gotten around to email you about my Grandfathers farm. My grandfather had 80 acres in western North Carolina. We lived in Asheville Nc, about 20 miles north of my grandfather. He was a hermit, divorced from my grandmother. And lived in their old house filled with stuff in case the world entered into another depression. We would visit him about every other month. My mom would sit and talk with him, while my brothers and me would explore thru the junk filled barns, sheds, and out buildings. He had also built a 5 acre pond on his property for his grandsons to be able to fish in. It was stocked with bass and blue gill. He was a hard old man, that told you something only once, and expected it to be done. But he would also joke around with you. He use to tell us to look out for them boogers out there. When I was in 8th grade when my grandfather died and left his farm to my mother. Over the next two years we would go out to the property almost every weekend and holiday. We were cleaning it up. We didn't know it at the time, but our parents were planning on moving us into the house. We started camping out on the property sometimes when we would stay out there for a few days. It was during these visits, I started hearing neighbors talking about strange things on the property. About being chased away when they tried to fish at the pond. Always feeling like someone was watching them. In the summer of 1998 my parents moved myself and my 4 younger brothers into my grandfathers house. In the 2 years of working on the house to move into it, I had experienced enough to know that the house was haunted, and that my grandfathers ghost lived in the lake. I didn't tell anyone other than my brothers and my parents. My brothers and I all believed there was something going on. Our parents kept telling it that it was our imagination. So we kept it to ourselves. It just became normal.

Jon talks about how he makes time for guitar being a young dad and he gives us a brief history of his musical background. Larry joins the conversation and tells us how the two met jamming in a kitchen. Larry tells us about living and growing up in Virginia in a musical family. The two discuss their collaboration that's become an EP and why it's not a full album and how the two are going to make time from their own personal bands to tour together. On this episode, we try to summarize the process involved with finding and buying a “new to you” car, or for those with a problem (Like Bill) how to best prepare to sell your car.  Lara Vernon is on as our guest for a second time and is involved with buying and selling cars in her real life where she owns a boutique exotic car dealership called “Rare Exotic Vehicles” in Asheville NC that deals with very cool vintage cars and hot rods from the 1930's on.  The discussion deals with all types of cars, from a daily driver to a race car to a future race car to a parts car for the race car.  Lara's advice will save you time and money and get you further towards your goal.  You may even find that flipping cars or parting out cars can help support your racing.  This is one of the rare cases where the magician gives away a few of the secrets. A chance meeting led to a very cool show that turned us into total cider freaks. Amie and Lyndon happened to come in for a tasting at Winery Sixteen 600 on their way to a site visit at the local Sonoma Cider Shop, Pomme. They are based in Cedar Grove and Asheville North Carolina and make cider, pet-nat, piquette and wines from local sources. Their energy, enthusiasm and creativity were truly inspiring and everything we tried was amazing. According to some government leaders, logging is bringing big economic gains to rural America. But in places like the Carolinas, frontline communities – and especially the low-income people of color and Indigenous people who live in the midst of all this — are telling a different story, and have solutions. With Trump's increased tariffs on Canadian timber and wood products, deforestation is only going to speed up in America's “wood basket.” Two Carolina-based organizations are converting a 300-acre former South Carolina plantation into the South's first environmental justice training center: the Brittons Neck Community Forest. In this episode, Laura is joined by three guests spearheading the project. Lucia Ibarra and Danna Smith are from the Dogwood Alliance, an organization based in Asheville, North Carolina that mobilizes diverse voices to protect Southern forests and communities from destructive industrial logging. Reverend Leo Woodberry is a South Carolina-based faith leader & environmental activist. Together they're showing the true value of forests in the US South, and what it means to remain climate resilient in the face of heavy industry.
