In Episode 9 of Overthinker, Joyce invites Joseline Boamah to the table to share her healing journey. She shares her practical tips to face the ups and downs of recovering from trauma and also exposes the way she negotiates with her deepest emotions on a day-to-day basis. When faced with the decision to "renovate the house" of her identity, Joseline decided to tear all of it up, including everything from the foundations to the superficial fixtures, in order to discover and remake the core of who she is. Episode 8 of Overthinker is Part 2 in a 2-part montage where Joyce "hits the streets" to find the common thread for healthy relationships. What even is "healthy"? What does it look like? How do people get there? What's the turning point when people decide to look for it? Is it something that all of us have the potential to find? And when we do find it, what does it cost us? Part 2 focuses on the theme of what healthy relationships look like and the emotional risk and vulnerability it can take to collaborate with someone toward a higher purpose. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/overthinker-the-podcast/message

Are you confused about what love actually looks like in romantic relationships? In Episode 4 of OVERTHINKER, Angelica and I talk about the lists we've created to look for our future partner. Just like a company needs to interview for potential employees, we also need to vet the people we give our precious energy and time to (and potentially spend the rest of our life with). Lists have helped us stick to our boundaries (SO important if you are struggling with codependency) and also remind us not to settle for anything less than the best. I also go over some practical steps on creating a similar list for yourself and some pitfalls to keep in mind. I also over how to practically create a similar list and things to keep in mind as you go on your healing journey. When chatting with Angelica about self-care, she says that love is THE MOST important thing in life. Pretty strong statement! Being an OVERTHINKER, I had questions. What kind of love does she mean? And what does it REALLY look like to "love yourself" and the people around you? How does this all play a part in the healing journey? Tune in to Episode 3 of OVERTHINKER, where I chat with Angelica Garcia from @withlovehelly about LOVE and how it looks in everyday life, even in the midst of frustration, codependency, and feeling like you've got nothing left to give.
