Send us a textEver had one of those weeks where everything feels impossible—even the things you normally love? That's exactly what happened as I tried to record this podcast episode. Four separate attempts, four brick walls. But instead of forcing it, I decided to get curious about what was really going on beneath the surface. My body was sending signals through back pain and fatigue that something needed attention. As a Gen X woman, I was trained to power through discomfort—to ignore my needs until breaking point. People used to call me Wonder Woman because I just kept going no matter what. It served me well... until it didn't.Our bodies hold onto everything we've experienced—physical, emotional, spiritual. When we consistently ignore what we need, our bodies eventually force us to stop through pain or illness. But there's another way. By pausing to ask "what do I actually need right now?" we can break the cycle of pushing until we break. This simple practice of presence allows us to tune into our mind, body, and spirit before we reach crisis point. If you're running on empty and struggling to hear what your body is telling you, know that it's not too late to change the pattern. Grab my free guide "Five Ways to Practice Presence" from the show notes and start today. Remember, you don't need permission to take care of yourself—but if you do, consider it granted. The world needs what only you have to offer, but first, you need to take care of the vessel delivering those gifts.5 Ways to Practice Presence

Amber is a binge and overeating coach, while I coach people to speak with impact and clarity from their truest voice. We both see huge overlap in our coaching practices and agree that listening to our body is crucial for understanding our needs and then getting them met - whether that is with moderate amounts of nourishing food or expressing our authentic Selves verbally. It has taken me a long time to learn what it means to create safety in my body, to sit with my emotions and not eat or drink them away. Amber and I dig into matters of self-worth, the struggle against people-pleasing, and the reality of shame and its ability to trigger overeating, binge eating, staying silent or speaking non-truths. “Being able to really prioritize yourself and your health is going to give you the ability to show up as your best self.” –Jillian GreavesYour body is waving the white flag — fatigue, digestive issues, thinning hair, anxiety … Are you paying attention? You wouldn't be the only one too busy taking care of kids and parents and a business to tend to your own health. But it's time to shift our priorities. Functional Dietitian and Women's health specialist Jillian Greaves explains small, slow sustainable changes can have ripple effects — and why it's essential for entrepreneurs to prioritize health. We start with food. That doesn't have to mean elimination diets or restrictive plans. Nutrition doesn't have to be complicated, which is important when you feel like you can't do one more thing. And the good news is, you'll start to notice some differences in energy and mood — and maybe other symptoms — pretty quickly. We talk about: Make slow, deliberate but sustainable changes based on the why, not simply on suppressing symptomsStarting with food, especially eating for blood sugar regulation, including breakfast ideasEliminating decision fatigue around eating without losing joyThe effects of chronic stress in our own lives and in the world around usCreating pockets for restoration of your nervous systemChanges in perimenopause being one more way your body is talking that you should listen toABOUT JILLIANJillian Greaves is a Functional Dietitian and Women's health specialist, the owner of the private practice Jillian Greaves Functional Nutrition & Wellness, and the creator of the PCOS Root Reversal Program. Action is how change happens.Often we feel like our actions have to be huge to match the bigness of our desires, but we have seen over and over and over again that the little things add up. By stacking up a series of Doable Changes, you will create that big change that you crave. Choose the one that really resonates with you this week and really make it part of your life. Here are 3 Doable Changes from this conversation:LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. Start by listening to your body. It's easy to ignore what it is trying to say because you think you don't have time to deal with it, but what if you started paying attention. Notice your energy throughout the day. Notice your mood or anxiety. Notice changes in your skin, hair, weight. Not to judge, just for information.START WITH BREAKFAST. Start your day with a breakfast that includes some protein (and ideally some veggies). Eating to maintain balanced blood sugar starts in the morning and can affect your mood and energy. It doesn't have to be complicated. You can batch cook a frittata to heat up through the week or try yogurt with...

In this episode, we're breaking down why listening to your body isn't always enough (and why you're not failing if it hasn't worked for you). From sleep deprivation and stress to hormonal fluctuations and hyper-palatable foods, there are multiple factors that can make it easy to overeat when trying to lose fat and difficult to eat enough when trying to build muscle. What I Cover in This Episode:Why hunger and fullness cues can be unreliable when you're stressed, sleep-deprived, or dieting. How appetite hormones (ghrelin & leptin) respond to sleep, stress, and dieting—and why they might be making fat loss harder. Why eating past a calorie deficit is so easy (just 200 extra calories a day can stall fat loss). The reality of muscle gain—why eating intuitively might not get you enough calories to build muscle.PMS, hormones & cravings: why your body actually needs more energy during this time.Thyroid medications (hyper & hypothyroidism) and how they impact hunger, cravings & metabolism.Intuitive Eating Principles I'm Challenging (and What to Do Instead):1️⃣ “Honour Your Hunger”2️⃣ “Make Peace with Food”3️⃣ “Feel Your Fullness”4️⃣ “Cope with Emotions Without Using Food” 5️⃣ “Reject the Diet Mentality” At the end of the day, listening to your body is part of the equation—but if you're struggling to see results, there are deeper factors at play. Today I am talking with Anna Rahe about the ways that our bodies tell us exactly what we need to find peace, fulfillment, and wellbeing both physically and beyond.  For the past 25+ years, Anna Rahe has explored a transformative and empowering relationship with fascia, helping people invest in their health, restore vitality, and heal themselves using proprietary tools she developed. As the founder and CEO of GST Body, Anna has spoken about holistic body care through fascia around the world, partnered with top athletes, surgeons, physicians, and celebrities, and has been featured in various publications, from Shape to Elle, Net-a-Porter to The Wall Street Journal. Throughout her career, Anna has had the pleasure of working with and helping over ten thousand people find lasting change by restoring their bodies and reclaiming an ageless vital life.  She is also the mom of 3 beautiful children. Today, we dive deep into the ways we can all better understand and work with our bodies to create the lives we most want… a skill that I'm pretty sure most of you were never taught. Even with my 2-decades worth of knowledge around mental health, I learned so many new things in this conversation and was, quite frankly, blown away by the science Anna shares. There are several simple and accessible ways to very quickly shift our nervous systems out of a heightened state, and you will learn them here, today. Ok–so just a quick note before we get started. A word you will hear over and over in today's conversation is Facia- for those not familiar, Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber, and muscle in place. The tissue does more than provide internal structure; fascia has nerves that make it almost as sensitive as skin. When you are stressed, your fascia tightens up. This tension we feel in our bodies is often the first sign of a nervous system response and by getting more aware, we can use these early somatic experiences of body tightness to alert us and redirect us towards more calm. Do you feel compelled to say “yes” to food during the holidays when someone offers you something that they made? Does saying “no” feel rude, or like some form of restriction brought on by diet culture?   If you're like I used to be, you wrestle with wanting to say yes to people please, and to prove to yourself that you've broken all of your former dieting food rules. But you also want to be able to say no when you're not hungry for something, or when your body is telling you that it's not going to make you feel good.   With the holidays upon us, you know that Aunt Judy will be at the table telling you to take a piece of her pecan pie that she made just for you because she knows it's your favorite. And your mom will want you to try the new cheese dip she made from a recipe she saw on TikTok.    We're diving into how to politely say “no” when you don't want to eat something, without feeling rude, and without it being diet-y or restrictive. (Spoiler - it starts with making peace with food in the first place.)    If you're ready to make this the holiday season where you let your body lead you, so you can enjoy the foods you want, while also honoring your hunger and fullness, then you need to listen to this episode right now!   Episode Highlights:   -The importance of first having permission to say YES to food (so that saying no doesn't feel like restriction)   -When and how to say NO to food during the holidays   -Scripts for ways you can politely say “no, thank you” and listen to your body when someone offers you food you're not hungry for   Today's Wellness Woo is the Simple app   Resources Mentioned   - Grab my FREE guide Intuitive Eating During the Holidays   Read the full episode show notes here.   Resources for Your Intuitive Eating Journey   Intuitive eating education on the blog Work with Katy Explore the self-paced mini-course Stepping Off The Dieting Rollercoaster     Connect with Katy Harvey   Website: KatyHarvey.net Instagram: @katyharvey.rd Facebook: KatyHarveyRD      Subscribe and Review   Rate, Review, & Follow on Apple Podcasts   I would be thrilled if you could rate and review my podcast! For the longest time, I thought femininity was this fixed thing, like a set of rules carved in stone.  But then I realized, it's more like this journey of self-discovery, where you're constantly learning and unlearning, figuring out what feels right for you. What's feminine to one person might not vibe with someone else, and that's totally okay.  It's about embracing who you are instead of trying to fit into some cookie-cutter mold that society dishes out. In today's episode, Sarah and I dive deep into this very topic of women connecting with their feminine energy, and dealing with painful menstrual cycles. Curious to know more? We've got other topics lined up too including: How slowing down could actually amp up your business game What is PMDD and how to deal with it Our favorite menstrual cycle phase (you won't expect which one it is) Why meditation is a total game-changer for your body “If you take a step back, gain a little bit wider perspective, there's probably things you're missing when you're looking at problems like right up in your face and everything's okay. It's gonna be okay.” Sarah Rasmussen If this episode inspired you in some way, take a screenshot of you listening on your device and post it to your Instagram Stories, and tag me, @renaefieck.
