Two friends - Walter and Cage - get together weekly to share pieces of art that have recently brought them either chaos or peace. Focusing on fashion, music, contemporary art, and mental health issues, they seek to facilitate a supportive space for anyone to get fitted, get vulnerable, and try to get encouraged for a life of making meaningful things amidst a whole lot of despair.
In this episode, Cage and Walter peruse the 2021 Supreme Spring/Summer look book, pick their favorite pieces, and question the relevancy of the brand. But, they mostly share their skin/hair tips and catch up on lost time amidst current mental health struggles.
Cage finally does a reading from Carti's Whole Lotta Red - Walter does a reading from a poem he likes - and both boys wonder about new ways they can expirement with their aesthetics. Should they paint their nails? Dye their hair? Wear more jewelry? You tell us! We'll do anything to ourselves for your entertainment!
Cage and Walter cannot seem to hold themselves to a weekly recording schedule. In this episode, they try to figure out why: is it a mental health issue? A case of denying themselves the pleasure of doing something they enjoy? Or, are they just too busy binge watching anime and taking pictures of themselves? Probably all three. Also in this episode: Art recommendations, favorite IG pages at the moment, Michèle Lamy, and RIP MF DOOM
In continuing the holiday vibes, Cage and Walter share some of the fashion releases and collaborations that they're looking forward to most in 2021. Of course, this is also a delicate time of year for mental health issues and it wouldn't be an episode if we didn't dive into the art, memories, and self-care strategies bringing us hope and peace.
In their first remote recording session, Cage and Walter check in with one another's mental health as it relates to the bittersweet Holiday season. What's so difficult about it for some of us? What's exciting? And (of course) what jawns do they hope to pick up before the new year to try and feel better. They also address the recent Shia LaBeouf/FKA Twigs news and reflect on the difficulties of 2020. Lastly, what clothes and music that have been staples for each of them to get through this hellish year? Hopefully you enjoy thinking about these questions for yourself as well!
The lads are back after a long holiday break riddled with illnesses, but also with opportunities to turn on the people closest to us with new fashion (or as Cage says, ruin their lives). It's a low-key late night recording about our feelings and the art related encounters that have been bringing us peace.
Cage and Walter think through the pieces of art in their life that mark important checkpoints in how they came to like what they like. Whether it's music albums from their parents or clothes from Instagram brands, the boys try to find the origins of their aesthetic imaginations. More simply, they talk about their histories of engaging with art across mediums and how those things informed their passions today. Sit back and get your self-reflection on because even the embarrassing choices are important pieces of your story!
In their inaugural episode, Walter and Cage get together to share art - across medium or genre - that has recently brought them either chaos or peace. Do they know that that's an Undercover reference? Of course they do. It's a podcast about fashion, music, film, anime, and how any and all of those things have been vibing with their mental health on a journey to live a life that matters. Let's ensure that all of us feel encouraged, are engaging with things that we love, and open ourselves up to creating a supportive artistic community. So moisturize your face and neck, light a candle, and let's make sure all our homies feel seen and heard.
