Chi Alpha is a Christian, co-ed, non-Greek, student organization at Rowan University. We meet Thursdays, 8:00pm at The Castle, 5 Redmond Av. Glassboro, NJ.
Faith goes beneath the surface level of what we show to others. It requires a strong foundation. Pastor Carl Nalbandian discusses his own experience in building his spiritual foundation and walks through scripture's description of weak and strong foundations.
There are many awful things happening due to COVID-19. However, in every situation we have a choice of how we will respond to the crisis surrounding us. Tonight, campus pastor Carl Nalbandian takes us through Phillipians and explains Paul’s secret to being content in every situation.
Most of us desire God’s results, but the question is, do we live in such a way that follows what Jesus said? When we live a life that follows Jesus’ instructions, it makes a path for God to move in our lives the way he desires. This Thursday night, campus pastor Carl Nalbandian leads us through the Beattitudes.
XA Staff member Dave Corkum outlines the importance of discipleship.
So many people, both in and out of the church think that if someone’s life is messed up, then God couldn’t and wouldn’t want them. In Luke 19, we discover that this isn’t true. Pastor Carl Nalbandian leads us through the story of Zaccheaus, where we learn that Jesus cared more about his coming to know him than he cared about what others thought.
To conclude our time in Daniel, Pastor Carl Nalbandian reminds us that we need to live our lives for God’s glory and not our own. As we prepare to graduate and move on to the next season in life, our commitment, resolve, devotion and service to the Lord should grow—not dwindle.
You can believe in God, you can even bless God with your words, BUT, that still doesn’t mean you serve God and have given your life over to him. Campus Pastor Carl Nalbandian helps us dig deep into Daniel chapter 4.
The world isn’t changed and the Kingdom of God doesn’t advance by people who follow group consensus. Real transformation happens with people who are willing to stand and live boldly and fully for Jesus when group consensus chooses to sit down and bow to the world. Campus Pastor Carl Nalbandian continues his series in Daniel with chapter 3—the gold statue and fiery furnace.
If we took a closer look at how we live our lives and how we make decisions, how many choices in our day to day lives are compromises that defile us before God? This semester, campus pastor Carl Nalbandian leads us through a series in the book of Daniel.
XA Staff member Christine Nalbandian talks about generosity—but not in the monetary sense.
When someone mentions worship, each one of us will think of different things. Many of us will think of music, and beyond that, each person will think of different types of music. Going back to the early church, the way we practice worship was much different than it is today. Among all these different regions and time periods, the way we worship will have some big differences, but spiritually they share similarities. This Thursday, Chi Alpha pastor Carl Nalbandian tackles the topic of worship, what it is, and why and how we worship.
Besides deciding to follow Jesus, who you marry is the most important decision you will ever make. Who you marry directly impacts just about everything in your future, your kids' future, your grandchildren’s future, and beyond. A wise and godly relationship will challenge you to grow in your faith.
When we are called to be holy in scripture, we are being called to live a pure life, separated from sin. But going further than that, it’s about our lives being set apart for God, and for his purposes.
Chi Alpha staff member Gabe Landolfi helps us understand the importance of fearing God.
Chi Alpha staff member Bill Walsh challenges us to reflect on our life’s “pillars” — our core responsibilities and passions in life. In Matthew 6, Jesus commands us to seek God’s kingdom first and make Him the foundation for all that we do.
Where do you go to be filled and satisfied? Is your source truly God? If not, where do you turn?
Dave Corkum takes us through the importance of staying in community with each other.
Accepting Jesus as your savior is not meant to be a ticket to heaven. The point of The Gospel is for us to join and enter into the Kingdom of God. Furthermore, the Gospel is about bringing heaven to earth and restoring our relationship with God. With these thoughts in mind, the goal of our lives should be centered on being part of God’s new kingdom.
God wants his people to be saved from death. However, we deserve death, and it would be unjust to let us go with no punishment. Jesus, who willingly came from heaven, emptied himself and took the form of man. He took the punishment reserved for us so that we can be justified before God.
What is sin, and why is sin such a big deal to God?
To start What is The Gospel series, we need to start off by asking a massive and universal question: Why do we exist?
Have you ever thought about how you get to heaven? Pastor Carl takes us through Mark 10 during our special Church in the Pit service to tackle this important question.
