8000 Promises: Saying Yes to God's Promises for your one beautiful and precious life.
Sally's Bio: Hi there, I'm Sally Henry. I am wife to Kim, mother of Sarah and Sean and grandmother of three crazy boys: Rilo, Rocco and Vito. I also have two sisters who sandwich me and I love dearly. I am a writer, pastor, musician and listener. As an Enneagram 9, I love having people in our home, cooking for friends and family, having meaningful conversations and doing work that makes a difference. I am an ordained Presbyterian minister, but currently work as a behavioral health care coordinator working with families who have children coming out of mental health crises. Kim and I host a house church every other week in our home, I've taken up lap swimming to be active and work out stress and therapy to keep chipping away at all those things that keep me from being truly whole. I turned 60 in 2023, and it was my best birthday yet. I don't do “churchy talk” and I'm usually 5-7 years behind the latest trends (be they clothing, social media or catchy phrases). I believe in transparency and sharing our stories because that's how we learn from each other and grow as individuals, and I've been sharing my sh$% for a long time now. Oh, and I try to sometimes filter for the sake of others (that's the Enneagram 9 in me), but sometimes a good f-bomb is what's appropriate. Sorry not sorry. This Lord's Day morning, Pastor Jonathan will continue the sermon series in the Gospel of Mark. In this text, Jesus teaches how living in His kingdom is contrary to the way of the world by emphasizing the source, status, and scope of those who belong to Him.
Maybe it is not so much about learning ‘new' teaching as it is understanding and applying what we have already been taught. What if we celebrated the value of ‘being reminded' instead of trying to learn new things. This is where we may find ‘hope' when things are not going well, as well as when things are going well. If we open our eyes to see, we will be stunned at the overflowing grace that has ‘already' been communicated to us. We will see it in the hurting, the outcast, those with less, those who have lost, those who have forgiven much, and in those who grieve. We may even see it in the words on pages in ‘sacred texts'. Enjoy! TODAY: FINAL MESSAGE in this series, we look at Chapter 7, and the summary of what it looks like to live in the kingdom of God. There isn't a threat of eternal damnation in this chapter, others have taught that there is. However, the message Jesus seems to be sharing here is one of the fruit of living in the kingdom and the consequences of ‘not'. Enjoy!! In Matthew chapter ten, Jesus calls his twelve disciples and gives them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and affliction. He instructs them to go only to the lost sheep of Israel and proclaim the kingdom of heaven. Jesus emphasizes that the kingdom is not some distant concept, but rather a present reality that they should proclaim and demonstrate through healing the sick, raising the dead, cleansing lepers, and casting out demons. This passage introduces the theme of the Gospel of the kingdom and highlights the importance of proclaiming and living in the reality of the kingdom. The Kingdom Community Show with host Glenn Bleakney is a variety show consisting of teaching, preaching, discourses, and interviews on all things Kingdom. Living in the Kingdom, Part 1
Romans 12:9-21
- Father Edward 8-22-23
We must understand that all of our circumstances bring us a gift. Since we belong to Jesus, all our circumstances are in Him and He is in them for the purpose of giving us things. Because we are in the Kingdom now, we are subject to a different level of sovereignty. This means that nothing can bring us down, but everything can take us up. We are Kingdom people, and it's time we start thinking and living in a Kingdom way.
Speaker: Paul Lassig The Red Door Church Men's Camp this year was at Burnside, Anglesea with the theme of Empowering Men. In this first message, Paul speaks of living in God's Kingdom and asks where are you currently within this kingdom? Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia. We exist to be a community of people helping people make all of life all about Jesus.

As we conclude our Heaven on Earth series, we explore what it looks like to live in the Kingdom on a practical, daily basis. Pastors Brent and Steve share candidly about the ever-present tensions followers of Jesus face while embracing the values and lifestyles of the Kingdom of God. The post Living in the Kingdom appeared first on Ashworth Church - West Des Moines.
Someone once said we know we're living in the Kingdom of God if we are constantly changing. Caring for others requires constant change as we transition from seeing our entire life through the lens of self-interest to seeing others around us. When we're able to do that, we're experiencing kingdom living.
There is always confusion or lack of understanding about the "kingdom of God" versus the "kingdom of heaven". From the Bible, the kingdom of God is about your personal walk with the Lord and living a righteous lifestyle. Faith is the primary factor as we walk with the Lord that we please Him, and we can't judge each other's walk. The kingdom of heaven, on the other hand, is a location, maybe not physical like earth, but still a place we are desirous of living in eternally. Holy Spirit, Jesus and the Father/Creator reside in heaven, not to mention those who believe and accepted Jesus.
175 – How is it possible to live in the kingdom of heaven today?Recently I was talking with a new listener to The Bible Speaks to You Podcast about what it means to embrace the mind of Christ on the subject of the kingdom of heaven.Jesus says that the kingdom of heaven is at hand. If that's really true, how can we be more conscious of its presence? Can we actually live in the kingdom here on earth? And what does that look like? These are some of the things I talk about in this week's episode:I share an experience when I had to see past the surface appearance of things to bear witness to what is true in heaven. It brought healing. You can't see, understand, or live in the kingdom of heaven with your material senses or the human mindAwareness of heaven's presence comes through revelation from GodI share three of the many ways to be more receptive to the presence of heaven here on earthJesus's parables are keys that unlock the gates of heaven so we can dwell there. Here are three I talk about:The lady putting yeast in her bread doughThe man who finds a pearl of great valueWaiting until the harvest to separate the tares from the wheatA lot of folks think that the kingdom of heaven should appear in some grandiose and dramatic way with angels flying around blowing trumpets, but more often heaven appears following the model in Isaiah 28:10 – Precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little. When you notice and are faithful over the little ways the kingdom of heaven appears, you'll be ready to receive more of it in the future.Think of something or someone in your life right now that's giving you a bit of a challenge. Just from the three parables mentioned above, is there an aspect of heaven you can bring to your situation? Can you add just a little bit of spiritual yeast to the situation like the lady in the parable? What do you need to focus on that is of great spiritual value? Where in your life do you need to wait on God's timing of events? Jesus promises us that the kingdom of heaven is here. It is at hand. And you can experience its presence now. Happy new year 2023!!!! As we close out 2022, we are taking a moment to evaluate the past year and set goals for the year ahead. This episode gives some very practical tips of how to live intentionally and live in the kingdom in 2023. We will not be scripted by the media, by social media, or by anyone else. Let's run our own intentional race in 2023 and make it our best year ever.
Colossians 3:1-3, 3:4 What Paul is talking about here is the Christian approach to Kingdom culture.1. THERE'S THE KINGDOM OF GOD (ABOVE) AND THE CULTURES OF THE EARTH (BELOW).2. THE KINGDOM OF GOD BEGINS, NOT THE MOMENT YOU DIE, BUT THE MOMENT YOU RECEIVE JESUS.3. CHRISTIAN, WE DON'T LIVE CULTURE UP, BUT KINGDOM DOWN.Col 3:5-6 1. Sexual immorality. 2. Impurity. 3. Passion, 4. Evil desire, 5. Covetousness. WHATEVER IT IS THAT IS IN THE PROCESS OF KILLING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, YOU'VE GOT TO PUT THAT TO DEATH. 3:6 the wrath of God is coming - GOD IS NOT NEGLIGENT, HE'S PATIENT. 3:7-10 DON'T BE LIKE YOU, BE LIKE JESUS.Here's how relationships happen on the culture below (here on earth). Anger .Wrath, Malice, Slander, Obscene Talk, lying 3:11 WHEN WE GET OUR IDENTITY FROM ABOVE, AND NOT BELOW, JESUS BECOMES THE CENTER.
