Insight into the world of film. From interviews with upcoming moviemakers, to picking the minds of the best Editors and Cinematographers Hollywood has to offer. This podcast will do it's best to cover it all as I am a huge film fan and want to share my love for movies. My biggest aim is to be a point of reference for people wanting to make a career in the film industry and they can take notes and points from the guests I have on the Podcast. It will all be fun and organic conversations that I hope all Cinephiles enjoy.
In the 11th Episode of The Cinema Scope Podcast, I chat to Hollywood Cinematographer Eduard Grau. Edu is one of the most sort after Cinematographers in all of Hollywood. Represented by the volume of movies he has shot in such a short space of time! Some of the many movies Edu has worked on are; ‘A Single Man' (2009), ‘Buried'(2010), ‘The Gift'(2015), ‘Suffragette' (2015), ‘Boy Erased' (2018) and ‘The Way Back' (2020). Eugene, is a supremely talented director that is going to go on to do amazing things within film and I was so excited to chat with him. Adam is a producer from Canada, who's company 'Score G Productions' have worked on some of the best documentaries I have seen for a while! In this chat we discuss what goes into creating a documentary and the narrative that Adam and his team have to provide to make sure that it is an entertaining watch! Adam's personality is infectious and it really makes for such an interesting listen. Adam really offers exclusive information and does not hold back on what he believes makes a successful documentary. Also, for anybody that is a UFC fan, Adam and his team have filmed the upcoming Michael Bisping documentary and as a huge fan of the sport myself, it was so Interesting to listen to Adam discuss his upcoming work! Adam and Score G productions are really ones to watch over the next few years and I can just see how far they are going to go!
Cathy is the owner and creator of the 'Incluvie' website who are all about diversity in film. People really need to check out their website which rates movies on how diverse they are and I think what they are doing is amazingly important. Sylvia is an awesome up and coming director that has created some amazing short movies! My particular favourite is "A Period Piece," her award winning short. We chat about the steps to becoming a director and Sylvia gives her take on what it is like being a female director in the movie industry. This was such an amazing discussion and I urge any young filmmaker to give this one a listen as Sylvia gives some amazing tips on how to make movies and also how she feels about how women are treated in the film industry. A message that I feel everyone should listen to!!
In part 2, Richard and Stephen delve far deeper into the creation of "The Revenant." They give their analysis on how certain scenes were edited, the difficulties of editing a film such as "The Revenant," and their favourite scenes from the movie. Any keen cinephile this is a supremely interesting chat and I was in awe at their level of knowledge and some of the insights into the movie. They even briefly discuss the work of Leonardo Di Caprio and Tom Hardy, which was just amazing to listen too! Any aspiring editors be sure to listen in!
In this 2 part episode, I chat to two of the best working editors in Hollywood working right now. Richard Molina has worked on many films, such as, Hunger Games, Life and was the 1st Assistant editor on "The Revenant." Stephen Mirrione, has worked on nearly all of Alejandro González Iñárritu's films, he was the Chief editor of "The Revenant," and actually won and Oscar in editing for the film, Traffic. In Part 1 - Rich and Stephen give there take on how they got into editing, the pressures of being an editor, the relationship between the editing team and the director, their initial thoughts on working on "The Revenant" and the difficulties of editing footage which has been shot in a continuous long take, as Alejandro Iñárritu did for the movie. Anybody interested in film this is definitely not one to be missed as these guys provide a wealth of knowledge. Any keen editors out there be sure to listen in!!! Part 2 - will focus more in depth onto "The Revenant", discussing specific scenes, the actors and Alejandro's direction. Stay tuned at the same time next week for that one!!!!

We also discuss and give tips on how to create a movie review instagram page and provide some tips that we know have worked for us since creating our accounts. We give our opinions on the film and break down the movie, conversing about what we thought worked in the film. Antonio is a knowledgable and awesome guy, so be sure to check this episode out.
